We choose to celebrate my husband's birthday at St. Helena this year. I am glad that we had dinner at the Harvest Table night before birthday. Food was delicious! Our server was delightful. She overhead us discussing our birthday adventures and surprised us with dessert with candle! Costumer service exceeded expectations. We went to the Farmstead the following evening for actual birthday dinner only to be disappointed in their service.

The Harvest Table: Our expectations were not met whatsoever compared to what the Harvest Table used to be and provide. We had dinner and breakfast at the Harvest Table during our 3 night stay. For dinner, the fixed menu was $60 per person and $22 for wine pairing. As I will explain in detail following this statement, dinner was a HUGE disappointment considering we paid over $450 with tip after additions. Overall, it seemed as though the food was based on whatever was being served at the wedding on site that night. We were the 'leftovers'. Overall, the food was not fresh and of poor quality. To

Exceptional service, gorgeous indoor seating, fantastic wine. Food was extremely mediocre.. Had the pre fixed menu: monkfish as the entree... Not great. The seating we had was outdoor which was kind of crammed and a little blah. Obviously this is all said in respect to the price tag associated to the meal. Easily one of the more expensive meals I've had. Had they told me that everything was frozen and reheated, I would've completely believed it. Just a very "eh" experience. I'm sure their menu has its ups and downs. Wouldn't return.

Prifixe menu was an attempt at being refined, but the initial salad was sized for 6 people instead of two. The scallops were over seasoned for me, but not the wife. Complimentiry sparkling wine was like fuzzy apple juice. Average wine selection by the glass. Sat outside in the 90 degree weather but they had tons of unused indoor space. Manager apologized for the fans and heat. Service was good and friendly but the whole experience was subpar and unrefined. Try Solbar in Calistoga for a better resort restaurant experience. Yes, twice the price but 4 times the quality.

We ordered 3 appetizers 3 main dishes, Roasted mushrooms, Heirloom tomatoes, tar tar beef, Diver Scallops, Halibut, Papardelle. The only outstanding dish was Roasted mushrooms, Heirloom tomatoes and tar tar beef was just ok, but all 3 main dishes was all dried the taste was ok but seems like these 3 dishes was not served right away because it was really dried out.
The waitress might had been worried that we were not very happy about the main courses so she decided to automatically charged us 20% gratuity by written it on my credit card charged slip. I didn't complain because I normally tip my
