Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the most common, fastest and least expensive way to clear away debts. It is not available to everyone, but requires passing of a "means test" in order to qualify. There is a maximum household income limit. The numbers are adjusted frequently and take into account a six-month average for income.
You can stop foreclosure and take from three to five years to catch up on past-due mortgage payments. For Example, suppose you are behind four payments of $500 each on your mortgage, for a total of $2,000. You can include the $2,000 in your plan and pay it over a period of one, two, three or perhaps five years.

We declared bankruptcy with them last year, and everyone was fantastic. The staff were knowledgeable, responsive, and helpful, and Corey did a great job walking us through the process and handling our case.

Before starting this process I was so overwhelmed and very anxious thinking about filing bankruptcy. The 1st day that I consulted with Corey and his team, I left there feeling so relieved. My husband and I received a writ of garnishment in October and decided to file bankruptcy. Corey was the first lawyer's office I spoke with and ultimately the one we chose. His staff is fantastic and he took the scariness out of filing bankruptcy. He also accepted payment arrangements after the first 500 was paid and the arrangements are VERY reasonable. They were very thorough and although I hope I never have to use him again, he is FANTASTIC. Highly recommend!
