Cats Only Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, full-service, feline veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Cats Only was founded in 1992 by Dr. Bob Upholt in order to offer an alternative veterinary hospital for cats, away from the noise and bustle of a large dog and cat hospital.
The practice is purposefully small and laid back, but offers a full range of medical services in a home like atmosphere. We pride ourselves in providing personalized care for you and your feline friend. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.

Cats Only Veterinary Hospital in Fayetteville, NY is a nearly full service feline veterinary hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your cat. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy cats; early detection and treatment of disease as your cat ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.
After spending two years in the Air Force in Abilene Texas, he opened a mixed practice in Mt. Pocono, PA. Dr Upholt operated this practice for twelve years before selling it and moving to Marathon, NY where he and his wife operate a thoroughbred horse farm. After several years of relief work he decided to start a new practice devoted only to cats in order to provide a less stressful atmosphere for them.
Christine started with the Doctor opening day of the practice. She takes care of the cats, the clients, and tries to keep the office on time and running smooth. She also performs laser therapy to cats in the practice to help with pain relief, inflammation, and healing. Christine underwent special training and now works with Dr. Rendano from Thyrocat assisting with Radioiodine (I-131) thyroid treatments.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. For your convenience, "drop-off" appointments are available.

We went with Cats Only Vet after adopting our first cat a year and a half ago. Our experience so far has been very positive. The staff are kind, responsive, and helped get us in right away when our cat was sick. Dr. Upholt is very knowledgeable and great to work with. We recently adopted a second cat and will be bringing her here as well.

My experience with Cats Only Vet Hospital has been right on par with the other positive reviews that prompted me to connect with them in the first place. Although my 14-year-old cat still isn't thrilled about anything involving a carrier and car ride, she doesn't seem nearly as distressed by our visits here (which makes them easier on me, too). Thank you, Dr. Upholt, Christine, and Collene, for providing such quality care in a quiet, cozy environment.

The staff and environment at Cats Only is all you could ask for! The waiting room is cozy, but you never have to wait long because they're very prompt, which I think the cats appreciate. The staff handles the cats very well, and the prices are great for the wonderful service. Definitely worth the drive I make to go there. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants the best for their furry friend.

My cat had a bad experience at his regular vet while they were trying to do some diagnostic testing, so I figured I would try Cats Only assuming they would know how to handle him properly and reduce his stress level. Upon pulling into the driveway and parking around back, I was shocked at the swimming pool size pot holes and the thick sheet of ice on the ground that I slipped on getting out of my vehicle. I entered the house and it reminded me of an episode of Hoarders. Very messy, clutter everywhere. Not a professional looking medical facility whatsoever. Trying to be open minded, I stayed and

I would strongly suggest choosing a different vet than cats only. I will say that I felt the doctor and staff had good intentions.. they were knowledgeable and cari g but $70 just for the vet visit????? Come on now. Also while my cat was in for surgery they decided to do something that was not previously talked about which was over $100. Why would you not ask me if I was comfortable with that or not? I'd stay away unless you've got money to blow and always expect to pay more than you're quoted here.

The cruelest, roughest Vet I've ever encountered-very abrupt and rough with my 18 yr old senior fur boy. Certainly his recommendations would bring my boy to a quick grave. Do not bring your kitty here. I can't understand the other reviewers-can't possibly be for the same person-even his assistant was rudely non-compassionate.

My elderly cat Mickey was seen here for the last few years of his life.
Dr Upholt and staff were wonderful and caring.
I sent my nephew to him when his kitten became sick, unfortunately it was feline leukemia and the kitten could not be saved.
Compassionate, knowledgeable and reasonable in price. What more in a vet do you want.
