Today, so many of Hope's dreams have come true - working for Gina Khan and before that for Yosh Toya, being part of the Logics (Matrix/Loreal) team, traveling, taking part in Intercoiffure, seeing her work on the cover of Haircolor & Design magazine. She is a Master Designer in Cutting and has been in the industry for 23 years, specializing in curly hair and up-do's.

Love, love, LOVED my experience here at Salon Nine! I can't say enough good things! I came here a couple of weeks ago looking to spice up my virgin, black hair, and I am so happy with the result. Ale was my colorist and Mari was my hairdresser and they both did a fantastic job.
With this being my first experience at a salon, I really put all my trust into the both of them and said to do whatever they thought was good. I brought in a couple of reference pictures to give them the vibe of what I wanted and had them do the rest. I ended up with a nice ash blonde balayage with hints of caramel

Things can get a little hairy with salons (yuck yuck). But EUREKA -- I found my new go-to hair place!! Shout out to Hanabi (love the cut) and Vivian (love the color). Hard to believe a hair salon has perfect 5.0 Yelp score -- particularly when peeps can be so extreme about hair likes/dislikes. My hair was destroyed during COVID (compliments of my engineer husband being my hair person). I'm pretty brave when it comes to changing it up -- so I was over bleached, over colored, over cut. I gave Hanabi and Vivian very little to work with. And kudos to them for not stating the obvious when I got

I had a wonderful experience at Salon Nine! The space is very nice and clean. Hanabi cut my hair - I showed her photos of the style I wanted and she did a great job. She's super friendly, very detailed, and gave me a thorough consultation beforehand. If you're looking for a good quality hair cut, I definitely recommend that you book an appointment with Hanabi!

I had to come back for a redo on my hair color. I was told that they would be no charge. When I was walking out the door I was charge for it. Reason was because they said that tint was a redo but not the highlight. From the very beginning I told them I wanted my hair highlighted. That's why it was a redo. I wish they would've told me this from the very beginning and not surprised at the end... frustrated!!!!

I followed my hair goddess Mari here! Salon Nine is at a nice and quiet location near union square but it wasn't difficult to find. They did a great job about social distancing- I was the only customer there on the first floor for almost my entire haircut.
The place was clean, the receptionist was super nice and Mari of course was amazing like she always is. I have A LOT of hair (unruly Asian hair) that's naturally wavy so usually my haircut takes her about 2 hours. She's super detailed and I loved every cut that was done by her, especially the asymmetrical bob from 2 years ago

I've been going to this salon for 15 years now. The entire staff is welcoming, professional and highly experienced. I've been seeing Chelsea for color and Melinda as my stylist. They are both amazing!! Even after moving to the East Bay 3 years ago, I would never even think of finding a new salon! They have always been a clean and sanitized salon so there was no hesitation in booking an appointment after their reopening a few weeks ago. I have been a client at this salon since 1978. It is an outstanding experience every time I have an appointment. The space is super clean, spacious and there are always special touches:beautiful plants and flowers, snacks, drinks. Every single stylist is excellent:I’ve seen most of them over the years. I’ve been coming to Salon Nine for a few years now and with salon’s now able to open again just wanted to give a huge shout out to the entire team for making it possible to come back to the salon in a COVID safe environment! There’s temp check at the door, proper distancing and masks all around! My hair is colored by Chelsea, who I absolutely adore! I’ve never had anyone master hair color like she does. Melinda cuts my hair and she is a miracle worker. Hands down. Everyone that works there is so kind to the clients and so wonderful to be around. Thank you Salon Nine!
