Dr. Dobyns is our only full-time veterinarian. She grew up in Frederick County, Maryland, where her parents still live. She graduated from Middlebury College in 1990 with a degree in Biochemistry. She worked for 1 year as a Chemist at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD, then entered the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Beth is a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician. She also attended Blue Ridge Community College and graduated with her Veterinary Technician degree in 2001. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horses, playing with the many other critters on her "mini-farm" and spending time with her husband JJ and their daughter, Willow.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.
Here at Middle River Veterinary Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. Preanesthetic blood testing is important in reducing the risk of anesthesia.

When my previous vet went to drop off service only and my cat had a minor injury I needed to find a new vet close to me. I decided to try Middle River veterinary hospital because they had great reviews and after my first visit I have decided that I want this to be my regular vet.
The doctor and technicians were awesome! The service my cat received was great, all of my records were emailed to me and the office called the next day to see how my cat was doing. The cost was reasonable. They didn't perform any unnecessary services that would make the bill higher than need be.
Most importantly my cat

So we called our vet that we take our sweet puppy too, because she thought it would be a good idea to tear up the carpet and eat the padding underneath. We were worried that it was poisonous so we called our vet to ask, beyond rude and acted like we were bothering them when we called. Absolutely unprofessional. She will definitely never be going back to them.
