Our veterinary practice strives to provide pet parents with a useful resource that expands their knowledge about our practice, services, and more. After browsing through our website, please contact us if you have any further questions or would like to schedule an appointment. Nutrition, including controlling your pet's weight, seriously affects pet health, especially as your pet ages.
Weight management is one of the most critical factors in maintaining pet health. Giving your pet unlimited access to food (free feeding) is one of the worst things you can do. The standard serving for felines and canines is 120-170 calories per pound of body weight. If you're trying to help your pet gain weight, increase caloric intake, and if you're wanting your pet to lose weight, decrease caloric consumption.

Westwood takes amazing care of our both our large and small animals - our pigs, ponies, puppies and purrfect children all go to Westwood! It is wonderful to be able to have our whole farm taken care of by the same caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate team!

My dog broke his leg. He needed his splint redressed because he had chewed it and it was wet and stinky. The vet I normally take him to was not home n that day. I spoke to the receptionist at my vets office and she referred me to Westwood. I called them and told them I was coming in for their walk in hours. They said that was fine and I had the X-rays sent to them. I came from the north end of Dayton, so I was 50 minutes away. I called and let them know I was on the way. When I got there, I waited for 1 hour. Finally a tech came out and told me that they were not going to be able to see us. I called

We were a walk in to the clinic with our dog. We waited about a 1/2 hour before they took just the dog in. Which I am not in favor of. My dog doesn't like new people just thrown on her. So she was wild and the vet could do much. So she got an overdue shot and anxiety pills for next Thursday's visit. Still charged me $121for one shot and 4 pills.

This was my first time coming here, and my dogs and I will be back. My German Shepherd got a nasty bite on the farm and was in need of some quick help, so I called them in advance and they were all set and ready. They were friendly, on time, transparent and took great care of my dog. Fair price for the meds and work - best of all I was in and out in 30 min. Absolutely great spot.

I can't express how amazing this practice is. I arrived yesterday afternoon with my sick kitty at almost 4 pm and they close at 6. Keep that in mind as you read on. They offer walk in service from 1 to 6 curbside. I was quickly helped and waited about 20 minutes before they came and got my cat Stormy. I expressed to them my budget because while i would do anything for my boy i still have two children to be mindful of. Anyway Dr Ford came out sat down and we talked about the best treatment for Stormy while staying within my budget. Stormy was pretty sick with an horrible ear infection. He had to

They are an awesome establishment! Very thoughtful and informative. They took great care of my little kitten Allie and helped her to feel much better! I am definitely bringing her back there for a follow up next week. Allie is in the best hands at Westwood with out a doubt in my mind. Thanks so much!!

Told me to come in with my emergency case and I would be seen right away long story short they put us in a back hallway and left us there 3 hours with a cat in extreme pain that needed surgery so we called another vet that saw us right away and gave her the surgery they said she was a hour from being to far gone to save because of them. They did this before with our dog . Understaffed none of them cares a pinch about your animal I will never go to them again !
