A yearly physical exam is one of the best preventative measures available for your pet! During the examination, a veterinarian may ask you questions regarding your pet's diet, behavior, and life style. A comprehensive physical examination will then be performed, including a dental assessment, cardiothoracic evaluation, pain assessment, body condition scoring, and more.
More than 1 million pets in the U.S. have heartworm disease. Because heartworms are carried by mosquitoes, the disease tends to be more widespread in warm and humid areas such as Georgia! An undetected and untreated heartworm infection can cause irreparable and potentially fatal damage to the arteries, heart, and lungs.
In recent years, exotic pets have become more and more popular. Birds, ferrets, reptiles, guinea pigs, rabbits and rodents make wonderful companions and they need attention too! We recommend that you bring your new pet in for a thorough physical examination when you first obtain it. This will help to ensure that your new pet is healthy and we can help to educate you about all aspects of caring for an exotic pet.
Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital would like to welcome our new groomer, Nicole, who comes to us with over 15 years of experience! She is now accepting appointments. Please call the front desk at 706-839-7387 for more information and availability. Grooms are typically scheduled Monday through Friday & are generally available from 8:30-5 but please call to check availability.
Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer your pet companion(s) 24 hour supervised boarding services for dogs, cats and exotics. We take pride in providing a true home away from home for your companion(s). We are very proud to offer exceptional boarding with the huge advantage of having a large veterinary staff on hand if your animal needs medical attention during his/her stay.

New Year's Day. Neighbors dog has a horrible, possible life threatening accident. This place - that's suppose to help animals - and says they're an emergency vet office - refused to help this family because their dog wasn't a regular patient. This isn't hear say,as my husband and I were there helping them try to find someone that would help their fur baby, so it's 100% truth.
Don't label yourself as an emergency vet if you aren't willing to help in emergencies.
Or better yet, find a job where you actually want to do what you're trained for. No compassion for hurt animals. 0/10 given. That one

My son found 2 puppies wrapped in a blanket late one evening. I was able to call to Clarkesville Vet the following morning and they were able to offer us an appt. that afternoon for both of the puppies. I found that pretty amazing given that we were new customers there. All of the staff was very helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this Vet.

We moved to town several months ago. One of our main concerns was finding a vet for our baby as we'd been using the same vet for many years. Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital has stepped up to the plate on several occasions.
Everyone there is very kind and considerate. I feel relieved knowing my furbaby's in the best hands! 🙏❤️🐶

Worst vet in the county and very cruel they do not care for your animal in emergencies. This vet is more focused on money than your pets health. Experienced two separate occurrences of them turning our dogs away in life or death emergencies. Go to “Northeast Veterinary Hospital ” instead so much more friendly and helpful in urgent emergencies.

I switched over to this vet recently, and I have been BLOWN AWAY by the professionalism, care, and respect they give each customer (both human and animal). I wish I could see the doctors and speak face to face to thank them so being SO KIND and taking such great care of my baby. They did a FULL exam on her first visit and told me that she had a small heart murmur, something her old vet NEVER mentioned. Clarkesville had just met her and informed me of this.. something my old vet didn’t do after seeing her every time since she was a puppy!! I wish I would have made the switch sooner!! I would tell

We are so fortunate to have a local vet that provides vet care, boarding and now grooming! We recently had to board our pup for two weeks. We were never worried about him, knowing he was well taken care of and loved. The day we picked him up, we asked the groomer (Nicole) to bathe him and give him nail trim and a “clean up”. He looked and smelled so good!
Thank you for loving our Max like we do and for the services you provide to our community!

We have been going to Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital since we moved up here 7 years ago. Our Old English Sheep Dog has never been any were else. She walks in there like she owns the place. She Loves going there, loves seeing everyone now if that isn't a good sign when your dog loves it I don't know what is. :) Both our girls go there

Our dog had a freak accident while we are on vacation in the area. She wound up with a massive laceration on a Saturday night during a holiday weekend. We cannot thank the team at CVH enough for their excellent care and concern. They were responsive, helpful, efficient, caring and fairly priced. Thank you from Lottie's mom.
