Our usual annual trip to Albany for Advocacy ''Day' had a different format this year. Perhaps, more importantly, we discussed the effects these issues have on our clients and legislator's constituents. Big I NY has had numerous "wins" in the past year, illustrating how effective Advocacy.

Two outstanding high school graduating students earned Big I TriCounty scholarship awards this year and two checks for $1,000 each were mailed to colleges where the students are enrolled this fall.
The Big I Tri-County, an independent insurance agents association, is getting ready to start the award process for our two prestigious memorial awards. As professionals who are involved in our local communities, we are offering two awards to qualifying seniors attending high schools in these communities.
Big I Tri-County received more than one hundred, very impressive applications for our two high school scholarship awards this year. The Joel S. Pollack Memorial Scholarship went to Manpreet Kaur of Francis Lewis High School in Fresh Meadows for her well written and thought-provoking essay on 'legalizing recreational marijuana in New York State'.
