I arrived at 1 PM and luckily a room in my class was available (905). This room is at an edge corner of the building that somehow receives none of the noise other reviewers complain about. I could enter the hotel's lobby and ride the elevator up, and be hearing/feeling the beat of the music the entire time, yet, when I turned the corner to approach my room's door, the noise was gone. Quiet room, check.
I used the gym. Water and towels provided. An attendant was wiping down, emptying the towel bin and restocking when I arrived to use the room. Said attendant greeted me and left me

Very nice boutique hotel. Unfortunately they had a heat issue the night I stayed. Checked into my chilly room, thermostat was set at 84° blowing cold air. I kept lowering temp to see when it would shut off. Got down to 63 and was still blowing cold. Called Front desk @ 3:15p then left to run errands. Back at 5p, still cold. So I ran a hot steaming shower to warm up the room which worked pretty well. Then left (turned shower off), stopped at the rooftop Greek bar/restaurant for a complimentary beer. It was chilly up there too. Windows could use a good cleaning.. Went to have dinner and see Bill

The rooms are very dark, the rooftop bar was closed at the time of our stay which was a pity since we've booked the hotel because of the bar. We actually didn't know that the bar was closed until we tried to take the elevator to the bar. After asking the staff what's going on they just said that the bar is closed for some reason but not apologizing or giving us any other upgrade. This is not what you expect from a good customer service. The only plus was the location of the hotel which is close to Empire state building and Madison Square garden. However, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Nice people at the front desk but no one, including the people working there, were wearing a mask. Rooms were dingy. Wont stay there again.

Very nice for the price and dog friendly. Only a one time $75 fee for the pet.
Bed didn’t have a fitted sheet and the mattress was liable to tilt off the frame if you sat on the end of it. Shower didn’t have a door or curtain so you inevitably got water on the floor.

Don't stay here. Very little value for money. Elevator regularly doesn't work; staff is surly and unhelpful; rooms are tiny and lack the basic niceties of most hotel rooms; bathroom door didn't close; and walls are thin. Advertised rooftop bar, where the photos for the website are taken, is not open, so drink vouchers are no good. Someone tried to break into our room in the middle of the night and staff seemed unconcerned- as if it happens frequently.

Stayed from Monday to Wednesday which made for a couple of loud nights while trying to sleep. Can’t complain though, because it’s so central in the city. I’d recommend it for a short stay and keep in mind you won’t be getting a mini fridge and ironing board.

Way too expensive for what it is. It’s quiet, but elevators are super slow, staff was uninformed about opening hours of the restaurant, nobody seemed to care about compliance w masks, the restaurant was closed more often than not and the business center is an absolute joke. Do not work there! It’s an open space by the elevator in the basement and not where one wants to spend more than a day working from.
Gym is ok, limited weight selection but materials were new and towels were provided.
Guests share elevators with staff and visitors to the bar so wait times can be long.. I wouldn’t go

Is this place still open? The line is constantly busy and the e-chat on their website is directing me to a phone number that is for a loan company.

Horrible stay! The hotel is run down and dirty. They gave us a room that was already occupied by someone else. Imagine the surprise when we walked in key in hand. The rooftop bar has no view. Promised amenities… didn’t exist. The shower had mold/mildew. The front desk was dirty and run by people who seemed to not care at all about their job. Absolutely do not stay here.

Unless you don't care about your health, hotel cleanliness or friendly staff, I can't warn you away enough. Few staff members wearing masks, or asking it of others. Unmasked janitors working in arriving elevators.... mud and dirt tracked through the lobby... giant heavy doors that don't open automatically...I could go on. Staff not too friendly or helpful. Not worth the anxiety or the money.

Lackluster all around and doesn't practice cleanliness and sanitization like every hotel should be during times like this. No hand sanitizer stations at all. No automatic doors to hotel entrance so you're forced to open it with your hands each time and again there are no hand sanitizer stations anywhere inside the hotel. The front desk staff you can tell are true NYers. They do not care whether you come or go. At times, it smelled funny in the lobby and I could tell the hotel was having maintenance issues that they tried to hide from guests. When I checked the hotel prices while I was

Left a night early to avoid another night in this place. Felt uncomfortable and unclean. If you don't mind feeling like your sleeping on a friends couch for the night, it's worth saving a few bucks. Otherwise shell out the extra money to avoid: missing mattress cover, dirty floors/walls/drawers, springy bed, and general 'rundown' climate. Would not recommend and would never stay in the future. Staff were not necessarily pleasant, mostly indifferent.

Went for a "brunch" party yesterday and it was very unorganized, overpriced and very unprofessional. Brunch was supposed to start at 7pm but didn't start until after 9pm. The managers just kept brushing everyone off. So now we are allowed to go in, after paying at the front door. They have no way to differentiate btwn people paying for brunch and those just paying for entry (no food). Since the servers don't know who is who, placing food and drink orders are unorganized. I had to speak to 3 different people just to get my order, 2 orders of Buffalo wings and fries. Once the

The bed sheets had blood stains the walls were extremely dirty, the closet was dusty and look like it hasn't been wiped down in months maybe even a year. The water in the bathroom was brown (shower & sink) the bed would lean forward if you sat too close to the edge. All in all a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I can't believe they never responded to me regarding a refund for a stay. FOR ONE NIGHT. I was very sick and had to leave NY a day earlier than expected. I had gone to urgent care and had a summary of my doctor visit. Because I got a special pricing they wouldn't budge for refunding me, and they didn't even respond to my request as to why they couldn't even try or pretend to have any semblance of customer service. What is that $100 to you, Hotel Hayden? Nothing. It would be $100 to make it right for the customer. I wasn't asking to cancel a week stay, I was asking to cancel

My #1 tip on staying at a the Hotel Hayden is to take the 15 minute walk down 26th Street just past 10th Avenue where you can take the steps up to the enchanting experience of HIGH LINE PARK!
The hotel is sim close to many hip places within walking distance and subway line within a 3 minute walk. The hotel is located in the wholesale flower district which was always a frequent stop to select gorgeous supplies for events planning props when I lived in NYC. The only true disappointment about the hotel was their false advertising that focuses many lovely pictures with their rooftop bar lounge although

Worst experience. If you value your safety, do not stay here.

The maid left my room open by the latch as though thieves would come through later. When I reported it, the manager seemed concerned but wanted to make restitution by offering me an upgrade of my continental breakfast to a full breakfast. Did I mention you couldn't get breakfast because only one person was working on the restaurant?

Back to the safety/security issue. He asked what he could offer and ultimately he would deduct $150 from the bill (of $1500 for 3 nights) because NOTHING WAS TAKEN. Obviously Brian, the manager

Yikes. Don't visit anytime soon (March 2019 visit and review). This is a super cute hotel and most of what I had issue with probably couldn't be helped immediately by anyone from the hotel. Important to note that there is MAJOR construction happening directly across the street and it's noisy and it starts EARLY. Normally, I guess even with outside noise, whatever right? Well, no. The hotel website says there's climate control - this is a LIE. The whole building has to be on either cool or heat. You will have no control over your individual temperature. We were visiting late

Yes, everything got resolved, and the hold was removed much more quickly than the first time, but there was no explanation how the 2nd hold even was put on, in the first place..

Booking.com customer service handled this very well, and even gave me a credit on my account. They even commented to me about how disorganized this hotel seems. When they called the hotel to act on my behalf, whomever they spoke with seemed VERY confused.

They asked, "So the customer wants to cancel the reservation, then?" And the Booking.com customer service agent had to explain the situation..that I had booked

Upon arriving at Hotel Hayden is was told that the amount I was going to be paying was $28.00 higher than the price I book my room online. I was told it was a fee that they added that goes to the hotel. I… showed the front desk person my online receipt that did not have that on there and he said it doesn’t matter. Took about 40 minutes of waiting for a manager to show up to the front desk who started to argue with me but then after looking at my paperwork said that it was an error on their booking website and removed it. Wasted my time and really took the initial excitement my wife
