In 2006, Cheryl Warren founded RuBec Properties in Charlotte, NC after a layoff from her job in corporate America. As she sought new employment, Cheryl saw the layoff as an opportunity to make a fresh start, with the chance to do something creative. She decided to make a career out of something that had been an avocation of hers - property management.

Your rental property is advertised on several websites to include Craigslist, Zillow, Vast, Google Base, Hotpads, Trulia and others.

Required Information - Government issued ID, 2 most recent pay stubs (or 2 years tax returns if self-employed), pet photo taken with applicant (if applicable). Landlord contact info for last 3 years. All adults aged 18 and above must apply and $60 app fee. Security Deposits and Admin Fees -Applicants with better credit and references will generally be approved at a security deposit of 1 months rent + $75 admin fee.

This is truly the worst property management company around, we have not had a working stove in our home for 2 weeks, in the middle of a pandemic, then they bring a used, unsterilized dirty stove to our home at 8:30 at night, and advise the Maintenance guy to go to Walmart to get cleaning supplies to clean the stove in our home. They are truly the definition of a slum lord. We have never been late on our rent and despite their piss pore job of managing properties we continue to pay our rent on time. Pia was on top of it!!’ Communication was there,professionalism is there kindness and super helpful. I recommend rubec properties.. prices are realistic and homes are very well kept . Rubec has been home to me for over 2 years now. They gave me a chance when no one else would. Pia is a sweetheart and always so caring! Did a application and didn’t hear anything back for over 2 weeks I had to keep reaching out to them kept seeing the same listing posted on different rental websites. Then finally decided to reply to one of my emails with a bs reason to why I was denied. Stated rental history wasn’t able to be verified but resident research reached out to me and completed everything. No follow up to an email questioning their denial reason. Look elsewhere. Save yourself the application fee and wasted time.

My boyfriend and I just moved into our first apartment and the experience has been so great with the great feedback from the office. Pia is phenomenal, she gets back to me quick on any questions or concerns I have. Very nice and friendly.

This is my first time renting my own place. It’s been very difficult finding places to approve me because of my credit score but Rubec Properties gave me a chance! My family moved in this wonderful house in April and we have fallen in love with the place. I have no complaints or negative things to say. The employees are liars and full of crap. They are only interested in getting application fees. I was lied to by Pia, then Courtney & Akillah more less backed her up. It was clear in the emails but Akillah refused to put two & two together. BE REAL CAREFULL WHEN DEALING WITH THEM. NOTHING MATTERS BUT $$$$$$

Not good. Nice people but horrible professionalism. Did not communicate with me. Took months to find a tenant. And They did not screen well at all. Placed a horrible nightmare tenant who stayed almost six months without paying rent and pulled a gun on one my contractors. They Also did repairs without finding the need to use a licensed professional. All in all caused me a lot more trouble and after awhile broke my trust completely.

As a property owner, I have been thoroughly pleased with Rubec Properties (So far). Hattie has been a tremendous professional. Before Rubec began managing my property, we discussed communication styles. Hattie has made every effort to ensure that our communication commitments are met. For example, I called Hattie while she was on vacation (unbeknownst to me). She picked up and addressed all my questions, then politely routed me to someone else internal. Talk about dedication to customer service!!!!

Do not rent from these people! I'm writing this review in hopes that we can save at least one family from going through what we are going through right now. When we started renting though this company, we had a bad feeling about them. They NEVER answer their phone. Ever. If you leave a message there is a very slim chance that they will call you back. This company, and it's "owner" Cheryl Warren, are unbelievably unprofessional, irresponsible, and incompetent. We trusted them with renting out our home and had numerous problems from the tenants and Lyrubec would never willingly go to the home to check out the situation. They would only call us and tell us that they were going to send a costly contractor to the home (for things that were almost always under warranty!). Then we would ask them to check it out and Lyrubec "supposedly" went to the house on the occasions to resolve the problems. When the tenants skipped the
