Raven graduated from Ashe County High School in 2008. She has been a dental assistant for over 8 years and has had her phlebotomy certification since 2014.

Dr. Alvin Jenkins is an Ashe county native. If you ask him he will tell you he is a country dentist and he enjoys being just that. Since graduating from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1976, he has continuously practiced right here in his hometown of West Jefferson.
Dr. Peyton Absher is a native of Ashe County. She attended North Carolina State University and graduated as Valedictorian with an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences in 2016. She then attended East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine where she graduated with honors with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

My first visit to Mountain Town Dental was a wonderful experience. The facility was very clean and the staff was very prompt, professional and friendly. I felt very comfortable with every one there. Dr. Absher was gentle and explained my plan of care thoroughly and ensured that all my questions were answered to my satisfaction. I am relieved and happy to have found such a first class dental office in the High Country.

Remains the BEST place to go for your dental work. My late wife was in the profession for over 40 years and said this practice was above all she had ever worked with. De. Jenkins is wonderful, excellent and the hygienists was superior. This is the only practice that I never have a concern of going back to.

I changed to Mountain Town Dental when my former dentist was retiring because it is closer to home and I heard good things about it. I was very satisfied with my first visit, and now also with those that have followed. The staff are friendly and professional. They listen to my preferences and concerns, have up-to-date equipment, and provide helpful advice and supports beyond my expectations. They do good work, and thus have earned my return business.

Went in as a new patient. Office was clean and staff were very professional! I needed a routine cleaning and exams. Also had x-rays. While there they determined I had a small cavity. They offered to fix it while I was still there! How many offices would do that all in one visit! Way to go Mountain Town Dental! Dr. Absher and her staff(I wish I could remember them all by name because they all deserve a shout out) are top notch. We also had a problem with insurance not going through and they worked with me so well to get that figured out!
