This is a serious, life-threatening condition of large breed dogs. I had an emergency visit with my dog Shilon on Saturday evening when my regular Tama Vet Hospital was closed (7pm).
My dog was in really strange condition while eating with full regular pleasure. I called to the hospital, they verify our arrival time, and later we stayed in the car waiting for the receptionist to bring the form to fill in.
During 2021 I had FIVE visits to Tama Vet Hospital to Alexandra Dixon in Milpitas to treat parasites in his paws. At Midtwon Vet Hospital I have got simple correction to antibiotics- shampoo and longer treatment. It worked as a magic! I have not seen such undisturbed

My kitten was seen by two other vets before coming here, both of them were inconclusive on what could be troubling her. Tama found that she was very constipated, and they kept her for a day to help flush her out. They went above and beyond to help my kitten feel better. She went from not wanting to move to being happy and active kitten. Vet bills are not cheap, why not go to a place that really knows what they are doing and will do everything possible to help your pet. The entire staff here is amazing, they are so sweet and caring. I took my dog to tama because I heard great reviews about his service. I've had several dogs throughout time along with different vets. As like anyone that care for his pet family we want the best Vets and knowledgeable for them. It so happens that I've been going to Tama for some time for service but not anymore. I was lied to about my dogs treatment and visitation when I took him to Tama. Tommy was scheduled to have extractions mid-December at Vilage Square in Redwood City.. Unfortunately he was in discomfort the week of TG but the veterinary clinic was not open, in fact closed from TG day until the following Monday. I did not want to take him to a random emergency clinic., and after much research I chose Tama based on reviews and appointment availability. Fortunately Tommy was scheduled for a routine exam on a Sunday and had dental extractions two days later. I am so pleased with my experience. It is clear that the staff and veterinariams truly care about the well being

Wanted to give an updated review because it is due. We are still taking both our fur babies to see Dr. Tama and he is great. He is very thorough and takes his time to explain the options. Prices are very reasonable.
PROS: reasonable pricing, Dr. Tama takes his time, no need to pay office visit for vaccination appts only, very accommodating and transparent.
CONS: you aren't able to be there when your pet gets vaccinated/blood drawn/etc (they take your pet to the back, this even occured pre-COVID).

My dog Yuki was very sick, they are able to see her the next day. Found out her kidney was failing, the staff and doctor are very caring help me through the process to put my dog down , very happy with their service, Yuki is in a good place and rest in peace thanks for the help of the staff and doctor at Tama Veterinary hospital.

Dr. Tama and the staff are great and I trust my dog's lives to them. Coming from an old vet clinic nearby, the old place (not going to mention the business name) felt more like a business after the change of ownership and didn't care as much anymore. However Tama Vet Hospital is so different and the level of care and attention has far exceeded my expectations. Yes it still is a business; so do expect to pay a premium cost; but the return of the quality of life of my pets are worth it for the level of service Dr. Tama provides.

My golden is at the end of the road because of bad hips and age, i called to ask if they could examine him in car or outside, to avoid him "skating" on the slippery floor that all vets have...they could and did, I'm very thankful for that.
He got a rabies shot in the car, but he needed blood drawn and nails done so they carried him from car to their examining table and back out...very nice

Have had nothing but great vibes and encounters here! My dog Paris (aka Muffy) loves coming here and the staff and Dr's treat her with care as do they with my other pets ( Woody and Maximus). I've recommended family and friends to come here and they're extremely pleased as well. Tama vet has been my go to since 2016 and will stand by them! My dog muffy has never had an issue here and when I got her fixed in february the procedure was smooth and everything afterwards has been perfect! Her scar healed up nicely and i'm so glad I got the procedure done for her. I absolutely love

Dr Tama and his staff are everything you want in a vet.
Our beloved dog, Frankie, accidentally consumed loquat fruit that resulted (potentially) in acute cyanide poisoning. This was the first vet experience that I truly felt like our pet was in the best hands possible.
Dr Tama took the time to walk through each and every line of our dog's blood analysis report, as well as go into detail to answer each and every one of my questions. When I came in and saw that our dog was eating and awake again, I hugged the man. You can truly see how much he cares about the animals.

We've been taking our corgis here regularly for the past 4 years. They get their annual check ups, cleanings, medications, etc from Tama Vet Hospital.

We used to go here regularly, but the latest visit here were greeted by a very rude receptionist so we wrote a 1 star review. Recently we wanted to give the place another shot and scheduled an appointment. Today I received the following message - this truly goes against the Yelp policy! I had the worst experience at this clinic and the team. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Tama is nice and very helpful but the team is horrible. I brought my dog here last year and got the puppy package. When my dog turned 4 months, I brought him to get neutered and also to take out his umbilical hernia which can be taken out during the surgery... and I specifically told them to take out. Unfortunately, they didn't and it upsets me because that means he would have to go through another surgery. Also, when I picked him up I was surprised I had to pay for medications they never told me up front

I love this place. After several weeks of searching and meeting with different vets, we finally found our go to place for our two Maltipoos.
I only recently became a patient this past year during COVID but their COVID protocols made the wait times pretty efficient. Even though it seems to be busy with several people waiting, the line moves quickly.
The front desk staff are extremely caring, friendly, and personable. Many of them know my pets by name and even come to my car to say hi to them while we're waiting to be seen. As busy as this place gets, they've always been totally professional

My dog died one month ago. She took surgery to get the sample for a lab test, and we've been waiting for ~3 weeks and cannot get any response from them. The time we had her removed the stitch, they finally told us the lab lost the sample, and they will come back to us next week - turned out this is another lie - they never called us back.
We requested a refund and sent our pet to another hospital, and the vet in the other hospital told us that the TAMA vet said we were the one who was not going to send the sample to the lab...??? They lied to other people, again.

I was able to get an appointment for my 13 week old maltipoo same day due to an emergency. Representative was so nice & helpful over the phone.
First time at this Vet and process was easy, waited in the car while they examined Koa, was called over the phone for next steps. Dr. Hoehn was so helpful and advised treatments that were necessary.
We will def start coming to Tama Vet for future visits now.
Our follow up is in two weeks to see how Koa is doing after his at home treatments.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Please do not come here. Consider an alternative vet, especially for surgery and if you own elderly animals. Here is my awful experience, that cost my cats life. Update: Read their response, they even confirm now that my cat was in a bad shape in their care, but never contacted me!! I am heart broken about their lies and carelessness:
