Our friendly and dedicated home inspection team is made up of three inspectors: Rick Carroll, Brett Porter, and David Rapoport. For your safety and peace of mind, our inspectors and our company are fully insured with General Liability, E&O Coverage, and Workers Compensation. Don't accept any less! Our General Home Inspection abides by the Standards of Practice (SOP) as stated by ASHI, and a copy of these standards will be included with your inspection report. During our inspection services, we inspect all visible and accessible areas of your home, focusing on safety concerns, damages, and defects that buyers should be made aware of.
I love having Brett do home inspections for my buyers. I have been a licensed realtor for 18 years and I have seen a lot of inspectors come and go. Brett is thorough, detailed and I can count on him giving an honest and informative report about each house. They are dependable, arrive on time, very knowledgeable in repairs in the housing industry in the Tidewater area.

I have been using Brett and Rick for over 10 years and for hundreds of home inspections for my clients. I have only had ONE of those not be 100% happy and to that I will say, Brett and Rick are NOT perfect, they are human and we all make mistakes. They make good on them if they are told about them. They are always professional and friendly and prompt and they DO what they say they are going to DO.

The potential buyer for my home hired this company to do an inspection and the inspector that showed up ( Rick Carroll) in my opinion did a poor job. I'm a contractor myself and have been for 30+yrs. and other than the house, I built everything else on the property myself with all required permits and other professional contractors as needed. The reason for the review is that the inspector wrote on the report that I had several active roof leaks in the house including the attic and the garage. I have lived here for 23 yrs without ever having a roof leak....not to mention I have been in the commercial

This company was selected by my realtor and I regret not doing my research before accepting their service. The following reasons led me to a 1 star review:
1. It cost $450 dollars for a moderately sized home, which is about a $100-$150 more than their competitors.
2. The inspector mentioned that he wasn't "able" to reach a certain area of the house to inspect a particular area, which floored me.
3. I called the company back for a re-inspection to ensure the work was completed, but the owner informed me that they aren't doing re-inspections. They may as well have said "We don't do that because

The actual inspection deserves a slightly higher rating. Brett did decent job. Very personable and knowledgeable, but he missed a few items that reared their heads in our first month, including the fact that our daughter's room had NO HEAT. In the end, we found an HVAC company that went above and beyond to repair the faulty radiator.
