A wonderful fine dining experience, with all the best wine choices to pair, if you like wine. It was our Christmas dinner, and we were super happy with our meal. The service was excellent, fast, and attentive (Angel was our server).
I had one of the day's special, an absolutely perfect salmon, and my partner had the chicken, stuffed with mushroom, spinach and brie, with a side of market vegetables, and potatoes "gratin dauphinois" style. My salmon also came with vegetables, and saffron rice.
All in all a great experience!!

It has been a tough couple years for my grandma- her husband died, her son died, and she hasn't been in the mood to leave the house lately, let alone celebrate. So for her 80th birthday, we begged to go away with her. All 20 of us rented a big house in Cambria and insisted that we take her out for a nice dinner. First time at Madeleine's and it is by far the best restaurant we encountered in Cambria. We had a lunch special which was thinly sliced pork rolled and stuffed with herbs, roasted, sliced and served on a roll with their signature side salad. Oh goodness! We are in our 60's and have to say that these were among the best 3 sandwiches we have had in our lives! Bursting with flavor and Madeleine's signature salad with goat cheese, beets, flash fried garbanzo beans and a flavorful raspberry vinaigrette was crazy good as well. My boyfriend and I had a reservation at 7pm for my birthday dinner. They seated us within ten minutes. Our server was David and the manager(maybe mark?) we're both delightful, making a great recommendation for wine that paired well with our filets. The food was fantastic, one of the best cooked filets we've both had. The potatoes were buttery and flavorful and the pan jus was the perfect amount of sauce. Their chocolate truffle cake was a little too rich for us but the coffee after dinner was delicious.

Went here with friends as they were treating for my retirement and it was a very nice experience. Something I think the ladies would like and they did. My best friend and I liked it but requires dessert later the complete the appetite. I am saying portions are large but most higher end establishments fall into this same category (this isn't the Claim Jumper). Menu is high end and seems a bit limited as much if the food is for someone with a wider range of cravings than I have. With that said I had the short ribs (rib) and it was very good as were the scalloped potatoes and mashed potatoes

This has been one of our favorite spots for dinner when we are in Cambria in fact I made my reservation weeks ahead right after I made reservations for lodging. We have come up for vacation anniversaries birthdays and just for fun. I booked for my wife's birthday which I did make mention of but not so much as a candle on the dessert I ordered.
Gone is the chef's menu but times change. Food is still very good we started with Spanish Octopus which has a risotto to balance the acid in the sauce a short rib ( which we always called s pot roast at home Natalie did not give a great description

Four stars on Yelp says "good," but honestly, Madeline's was VERY GOOD. I just wouldn't call it "excellent." To me, excellent is perfection or as close to it as possible, and this was just a bit shy of that. I really enjoyed this meal, but here's why only the 4 stars.....
1) We had the diver scallops as one of our appetizers (that we shared). They had no appreciable flavor, somewhat lackluster. At a minimum, the beurre blanc sauce should have added something to the flavor, or perhaps, the scallops should have been been browned/sauteed in butter a bit more

Amazing option if you're looking for a high end dinner in the heart of Cambria.
My girlfriend and I celebrated an anniversary dinner there and weren't disappointed. The service and food were both great. Not cheap, but worth it for a special occasion (we spent about $80 per person, which included drinks, appetizers, mains, and dessert).
We split the eggplant bruschetta for an appetizer, as well as the spinach salad. For main, I had the rack of venison. And we split raspberry creme brûlée for dessert. The wine and beer menu is also extensive.

We had an amazing dinner at the Madeline's. Everything from service, presentation, taste and food selection were at the top of the dinner game.
Located at the Main Street of Cambria, we sat outdoors at their makeshift patio where they try to recreate indoor dining outdoors. Small heaters are next to the few outdoor tables to keep the customers nice and warm.
We ordered the Louisiana seafood gumbo and the pork belly entree. The gumbo was filled with seafood and it has a little kick to it as well. It was great since it was a little windy and cold that night so the gumbo really warmed me

This was the best dinner of my life, and honestly the best service as well. I remember coming here ten years ago with my family and I loved it, so I brought my boyfriend on our road trip. Did not disappoint. Worth every penny. Thank you to our server Riley for great service and wine recommendations!

Spanish octopus- we were slightly surprised by how it was prepared. the dish was delicious, but the octopus had more of a crispy texture (Versus the standard grilled octopus)
Stuffed quail- delicious and juicy as well. Some parts of the quail were slightly dry, but it probably was because I was taking pictures of our dishes
Soup of the day- this was such a rich and delicious soup. Probably

I called and made a reservation for the night after our wedding, and Madeline's sure delivered! They sat us at a cute table and were very kind and gracious. We tried the Caesar Salad and the other salad with goat cheese and roasted beets. Then we got the filet mignon entree and the pork belly entree. Don't sleep on the pork belly entree, they cook it so it had a good crust on the outside and juicy flavor for the meat. Whatever sauce they put it in should be jarred and sold because it was amazing!!! They treated us to a creme brûlée for dessert which was also light and creamy and delicious

Mixed emotions about this place.
Cons: Felt super stuffy. Our waiter was nice when he was around. Would disappear for a while. The scallops appetizer was overcooked (chewy) which is very disappointing due to the fact that it's $16 for 4 itty bitty scallops. The lamb was ehh.
Pros: My husbands gumbo and our chocolate cake were amazing. THE best chocolate cake I've ever had. Our wine was delicious and we took a bottle of cognac to go that was literally amazing!
I may order out cake and buy a bottle of wine from here again but atmosphere was not like able enough to eat there again

Another fantastic visit to Cambria wouldn't be complete without dinner at Madelines. We were celebrating our 21st Anniversary and got our regular table back against the Kitchen. It's different with COVID and the spacing between the tables. Hopefully the restrictions open up soon.
We had the Octopus appetizer and really enjoyed it. My wife had the Fall Salad and Crab and Corn chowder. To follow the owner was great too. The chef here is amazing. He has talent in his fingers. Diver scallops were great. Spanish octopus was amazing that we ordered 2 more.
