If you’re looking for a luxury hotel, this won’t be it. The hotel at its current state is a no frills kind of location. That said, the staff is very kind and the rooms are cozy/comfortable. This is a good place if you plan to be out and about all day and just need a place to rest your head.
Note: There are little to no amenities at this hotel at this time. No bar, no restaurant, no room service, no mini bar, no water. A bit of a disappointment. Additionally, the tv has basic channels and doesn’t have any streaming or casting capabilities.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Starting with they spoiled my dog?!! The staff feels like family and don’t let anyone tell you New Yorkers are gruff, these folks are downright friendly and gracious. The rooms are chic with the rare advantage that every room has a bathtub. Pillows are to die for and the mattress is the best if you want a great night sleep and a pampered experience in Midtown that is also quiet? This is your hotel!

Location, location, location!!! If you're looking for something clean and pretty, within steps of Rockefeller Center, look no further! This hotel is tucked away only blocks from Grand Central and Rockefeller Square. Ideal for a holiday visit or quick trip to see a show! Though pricey, it's clean and tidy, with small rooms and "meh" views.

Will not be staying at The Benjamin ever again. Got scammed by the front desk with a “minibar deal” that they said was $100 credit which turned out to only be $10. I even confirmed if $100 was the deal and they confirmed yes it was. I got charged on my bill and have not been refunded. I’m very disappointed and will not be returning ever again. BEWARE OF THE FRONT DESK SCAM

While this appears on social media as a luxury spot, our experience was a bit less than luxurious, as the sink in our bathroom, as well as corners along the walls, was infested with black mold. Not a little, but a lot. Coming at the (hopefully) end of the pandemic, we tried to justify this as shoddy upkeep, but we won't be back.

Very luxurious but unbearably uncomfortable; technologically up to date but the mattresses are as good as hay mats and the pillows are as if you were sleeping on wet sand. Bathrooms were also very distasteful; the seat of the toilet hit the sink at its maximum height, so it wouldn't stay, the whole bathroom was fairly small, the shower head was too low, and was also hanging, disconnected from the wall. It was an okay experience but there were too many things I disliked to be able to say it was worth the money.

The staff in the Lobby is very nice. Cleanliness in the rooms, on the other hand, not so good:
-never cleaned AC (picture attached)
-not cleaned mirrors
-price tags lying on the floor (I should assume that no one was vacuuming, too?)
-cigar and matches left on the balcony
Also:
-light in one room not working

I stayed at the Benjamin for a week on business and my experience came to be a total nightmare. I got bedbugs and I had to go to urgent care twice to help with the itching. The medication did not help with the itching and swelling that was caused. My itching lasted for 3 weeks. The worst part is that I still have scars from it. I contacted the hotel and they said to email them, when I did I didn't get a follow up. I had to be the one to call them back. I spoke to David a general manager he didn't sound empathetic at all. I sent pictures. They offered "a weekend" stay in one

It was a very large room for nyc but at check in they tried to charge us more than 1.5x the amount i booked the room for. they questioned me when i said i had a receipt stating a different price and after i showed them they were confused and didn't seem to have a reason for why the price changed. the original price was the one listed on the website and the one i had made a reservation for, so if you come here be sure to keep everything they sent and make sure you know how much you should be charged for! they did fix the price though so it wasn't that bad. other than that it was very nice

The room itself was amazing. It was clean and very spacious. However at check in, the employee at the front desk felt the need say it was not a “party hotel”. Also we had a few friends over since it was a Friday night. At first we were a bit loud but after receiving one warning about a noise complaint we lowered the volume. We received a second warning in which security said that whoever was not staying in the hotel had to leave. We had fifteen minutes to make sure they left or they were threatening to call the police. This caused me extreme anxiety and made me not even want to go back. I was

My wife and I recently spent 10 whole days in this beautiful old hotel. The restaurant and spa was closed due to covid but the location in midtown just two blocks away from The Rock made it the perfect location for all our planed sightseeing. You are two doors down from one of the best Italian Restaurants (Bistango)in NYC and across the street to Starbucks and a 24 hour Walgreens around the corner. There are all kinds of small restaurants and shops just steps away from the hotel. Our room was clean and large. We stayed in room 812 which had a nice sitting area, and small kitchen. We had two closets

What a bummer! Hotel staff were kind. Our cleaning lady was amazing. Rooms are acceptable for the price and location. However, the resort fee is a hurtful scam.
Our family really loved this hotel. We're happy with everything, and willing to look past things like warped wallpaper, one elevator servicing 26 floors, and malfunctioning thermostats.
If you stay here just know that you will be charged an extra $40 per day fee. There is no justifiable reason for it, but it is in the fine print, and it will bring down your level of joy when you're hit with this charge at the end of your stay

This a gem! The customer service is excellent, they're so happy to help and pleasant. Our room was very clean and comfortable and much bigger than we expected! It even had a kitchen with a full fridge and freezer, and utensils so we could bring food back. The location is excellent if you plan on being all over the city too. Plenty of food and drink close by too.

UPDATE- even after the hotel responded to my post with the comment below and advised they would refund my reservation- they continue to reject the refund request.
I haven't stayed here because of the coronavirus pandemic. Nyc is shut down along with my home state of Louisiana. Everyone is prohibiting travel and the Benjamin has REFUSED to refund my money for a reservation I had this weekend.
Again- we are on a nationwide lockdown and nyc is a hot spot for the coronavirus and they refuse to cancel and refund my reservation.

The hotel looks classy. Staffs are friendly. But for the price, it is not worth it.
Booked through Expedia. From the outside, wowwww. I thought this is excellent hotel.
Room is way too small. The bathroom
Shower curtain smells and mold. Sink is so small almost no space.
No connecting room for the Expedia price
Must pay $150 addition for each room. It is so ridiculous and unheard of any hotel 4-5 stars I ever stayed.

My wife had booked a room in a nearby hotel well in advance for my 40th birthday surprise. Less than 24 hours before we are to check in that hotel emailed her canceling the reservation with no explanation. My wife then spends an hour on the phone with the Hotels.com relocation team where they finally find a room at The Benjamin. Keep in mind the relocation team personally calls each hotel to find these rooms and that's why it took an hour.
We show up the next day to check in. The man at the front desk was very polite but couldn't find our reservation. His gruff female colleague seems

Overall, our experience at the Benjamin was OK! Nothing to write home about, and nothing really to complain about. The highlight was how pet-friendly this place is (which is why we chose it in the first place!!) as you can see from the picture, guests get a pet bed, a bag of treats, dog bowls, and a roll of doggie bags!! It was very cute and our pup felt very comfortable in the space :) it is really nice to actually get something for the "pet fee" at a hotel!!
Service: The staff were friendly and welcoming. When we called down to the front desk, they were very responsive and helpful

I try to stay away from major chain hotels for some reason, I don't have a good reason but that's just what I do. Long research to find a good price, good location and good rooms for midtown area. Came across The Benjamin boutique hotel and liked the photos, reviews were pretty good, pricing wasn't so bad compared to other ones I looked at so I went with it.
Located pretty central in midtown off 50th & Lexington Ave. Near a good amount of subway lines, near a lot of food places, depending on how much you want to walk...it's walking distance to Times Square, shopping off

Service is fantastic but this is a very pricey hotel for what you get...
Pros:
- Location is awesome.. Lots of good restaurants and things to do within birds-eye view! Rockefeller Center is just a walk away.
- I got a free bottle of Acqua Panna and bowl of fruit!
- Free HD channels. They've got HBO, FX, AMC, TNT, ESPN, among many others
- Outlets close to the bed
- Robes in the closet, lots of extra towels
- My suite included a mini kitchen with a microwave, spacious living room, and giant bedroom
- Room-specific heat/AC! I had controllers both in the living and bed room!
Cons:
- No free
