John has over thirty years of electrical experience in the repair and construction industry, and is a certified member with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). John is also on the Board of Directors for the Hampton Roads Chapter of ASHI. John takes inspecting homes very seriously. He will inspect it as if he were buying the home himself.
Home inspections can help you buy or sell your home with confidence. As trained professionals we have seen it all, and we'll provide invaluable help in turning you into a knowledgeable consumer. Home owners can identify problems in the making and take preventive measures to avoid costly repairs. Sellers can understand conditions the buyer's inspector may point out and put the property in better selling condition by making repairs.
A home cannot fail an inspection. A professional home inspection gives you an independent, unbiased view of any problems and their solutions, so that you will have all the facts you need to make a sound, informed decision. Depending on the size and condition of the home, a thorough home inspection will take no more than four hours, usually between an hour and a half and three hours.
Our job as your professional home inspector is to alert you, to the extent possible, to unknown problems and potential environmental hazards in your current or potential house. Ours is a non-invasive visual inspection of your property. While we may be able to alert you to possible problems, our basic inspections are no substitutes for specialized contaminant testing.
Thanks John for always being so detailed and for being one of the most important people in our home buying decision/process. We love the detailed reports with pictures and how you explain everything in person not leaving us questioning or wondering. Very knowledgeable, down to earth, tells it to ya straight, and great resource to any means/needs related to your home.

I loved having them inspect our first home; they were very thorough and explained everything they did and why. They even spent extra time trying to fix the garage door opener that died, so we could inspect the garage, which was not their job. In addition, they left fresh eggs from their chickens AND plenty of information in an organized binder to… help us with the upkeep of our first home!
They were honest, reliable, trustworthy, and extremely thorough with the pictures and recommendations. Overall, this is a great company that I highly recommend!!!
Oh... and someone said he took a long

I have had Freebyrd Home Inspections inspect 2 houses for me. He is very thorough and abides by the highest standards. He was very neat (wore shoe covers, puts down towels, swept up insulation )and left everything just as it was. He doesn't miss anything and is very matter-of-fact about things that could be a safety hazard. As a single woman, it… is very important that these things be explained to me so that I don't get into a house that is unsafe or that is going to require lots of work. John made sure to take the time to explain how and why the things that he found might or might not be

DO NOT ALLOW THEM ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR HOME!!!!!! I wish I could give them less than one star, but I guess they at least get that for showing up.
I’m selling my house and the buyer’s agent selected this company for the inspection. Over three hours for the inspection and I returned to find my house an absolute disaster. Both gates in my fence we left… wide open so my dogs almost got loose (it’s clear from my house that I have dogs, so I don’t believe there is any excuse for this). My couch, a lot of other furniture, and other items were moved without any attempt to put
