We had breakfast here for the first time. All 6 of us loved our food & would highly recommend. I had the bacon avocado eggs Benedict & ate every bite! Pancakes were cooked perfectly & were HUGE! Armageddon is just that w a lot of flavor & enough food for a lumberjack! We can't wait to go back for dinner!

We both ordered 2 pounds of crab legs and they were delicious. The disappointments I have:
the entire 2 pounds of crab came at once (so 1/2 of them got cold) and our server stood at the table behind us, talking about her education and upcoming internship at Froedtert, in nursing. We wanted more water and soda.
We asked about getting the crab legs warmed up and we were advised, with emphasis, that they wouldn't normally do that unless we were the last order. Cross-contamination could become an issue. I wish they would have asked if we wanted the full 2 pounds all at once. We understand

Wonderful breakfast place. And I hear their chicken salad is amazing so I will be going back for lunch. Cozy environment. Our waitstaff was amazing. Honestly there were only 2 ladies waiting tables and they were killing it! We were a large party of 9 and they got us a table and everything we ordered was perfect.

Great food and service! This was our family's go-to restaurant when we lived in West Bend. We have moved away 5 years ago and still talk about coming here. We were in the area so we definitely made it a priority to stop in. I remember giving the suggestion of a bloody mary bar and they've made it happen. I miss the German food and the Brat bites were always a favorite!

First time here and I was impressed with the food. Staff was friendly and helpful. A few German items on the menu if that's something you're looking for. Food was fresh and prepared with care. They're doing it right! Desserts were also very good. Would definitely recommend and would return when I'm in the area!

It was a busy weekend in West Bend so we were happy to get a dinner reservation. We decided to eat indoor since there outdoor space was just so-so and it was still hot.
Our waitress was no nonsense and funny at the same time. She kept things moving.
Their brandy old fashions were very good and packed a punch - good job! We were tempted by the German nachos as a starter but smartly declined to order or we would never have come close to finishing our meals.
I got the jagerschnitzel and it was very good - I was worried about the pork being dry but it was very moist and tender. The mushroom

Visiting the area and wanted some German food. We were not disappointed! Schnitzel and smelt were wonderful. Sides were fantastic - red cabbage, homemade apple sauce, potato pancakes. One of the very few restaurants I have been to in a long time that include soup or salad. Really generous portions! Service very friendly, also. Also, we were able to walk from our hotel (down a very scenic river walk) which meant we could didn't feel quite so bad about eating so much!

Wow, we just had the most amazing dinner.
We had been here for breakfast which was amazing and we decided to try dinner.
We had four of us for dinner in our entrees were this:
Schnitzel a la Holestine
Mustard Schnitzel
Bacon Scallion Salmon
Jumbo Shrimp
Our side were:
Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad,
Twisty Fried Potatoes, Side Salad
The Schnitzel was simply the best schnitzel I've ever tasted, perfect sides and generous side salad.
Everything was perfectly done that I felt inclined to tip the chef! Bravo!

Wow, best breakfast ever. I love ham, American cheese and onion omelettes, and this place not only had that but they top it with hollandaise sauce! Highly, highly recommend The Benedict omelet here, best omelet I've ever had. Add to that their pint sized mimosa made with real orange juice.
The staff here is awesome too, you want for nothing . They are on top of things while being friendly and warm in the process. The Braising Pan is a new favorite

Great authentic German food! Went for lunch with my brother; we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Ordered a Bavarian Pretzel with beer cheese sauce for an app; the pretzel was very big and both were very good. I had the Artichoke Spinach Chicken Sandwich with twist fries; the sandwich was amazing and the fries were a nice change from usual. My brother had the Schnitzwich, which he said was also very good; his potato side was German potato salad which was served warm and was very good. Great waitstaff and service as well!

We went there on a Friday evening and since we did not make a reservation, waited for about 30 minutes. That being said, the food and waitstaff were superb. My husband had the elk and I had the shrimp alfredo. So well done on both accounts. Many people were there for the fish fry and from the satisfied looks on their faces, they were equally pleased. Definitely call ahead and make that reservation before you go, especially on the weekends.

This is my favorite place to eat in West Bend! The interior resembles a cabin and the menu is very German inspired. The service is excellent and the wait staff is very polite. Although the place isn't that big inside, they do take reservations.
Whether it be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I love coming here. The Eggs Benedict, Jagerschnitzel, Apple Brandy Pork Medallions, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. To drink I usually order an Old Fashioned, which is homemade and very good. Overall, I really enjoy coming here and highly recommend!

I've only ever been here for breakfast, which is generally spot on. I've heard the afternoon offerings are equally appetizing as is the Friday evening fish fry. Parking lot is usually full in the evening which is an indicator dinner must be pretty good as well.
Nicely decorated with the upnorth log cabin feel about the place. Kind of a family restaurant type vibe. Servers have been attentive and engaging each of the times I've stopped.
If hungry I recommend the lumberjack. Bit pricey ($11) for a breakfast meal, but if you manage to eat it all it's also going to have
