Location, location, location. If you arrive to NYC via train, the hotel is 5 minutes from Grand Central walking. The room was big, comfortable, clean, and fairly quiet for NYC. Added bonus: great steakhouse attached to the hotel.

We loved our stay here, fantastic location which was brilliant for our first stay in NY meaning we were close to so many sights and things to do. Our room was huge, with black out curtains and so quiet. All the staff were very friendly and helpful..my only negative was the 10 dollar mandatory fee per night for the coffee and water I wished to opt out of but couldn't. But other than that we were very happy with the hotel oh and those that complain about the heating ..we had no issues and could control it in our room and turn off when we wanted ....Thank you for your hospitality..we would definitely

What a great find! The Dylan Hotel was a fabulous experience. It was clean! The staff was super nice. Our room had a balcony which had a view of the NYC Public Library. Walking distance to everything!
Lovely lobby. I can't say enough good things about this NYC hotel!

I was not expect it to be that good. The room with king bed was very spacious, compared to other cramped hotel. The name did not suggest it will be that good. It was super clean. The receipt is too small. Staff very helpful. No breakfast though. I will definitely stay here if the room rent is reasonable

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean-ish...but not a high standard. The temp controls didn't work at all and the room was extremely hot, good thing we could open the windows and make it bearable.

It’s not anything special but, being that I only use it as a crash pad between work shifts when I don’t feel like going all the way home, I do appreciate having a dark room with blacked out windows in the back of the building away from all of the noise. If I had flown all the way to the big apple for some sort of special trip I would be disappointed. The marble bathrooms are beautiful but, as others have mentioned, there’s isn’t room for you to put your cosmetics down to do your makeup. My only true gripe is that there aren’t any lamps on the night stands. I wouldn’t consider it 4 stars

I find it very suspicious that the 5-star reviewers usually have only one contribution. I stayed here for three nights last week. Our room was very uncomfortable. Hot. Had no control over thermostat. An "engineer" was sent to our room. He could not open a window because they are permanently sealed shut. I asked for another room at the desk. Was told temperature of hotel was controlled by the manager and our room would remain at 75° and that ALL of the rooms would be the same. I'm new to this app because I've never had a reason to complain before this. I stay in a hotel approx. 130 nights per year

I chose the Dylan hotel for my 1 night stay due to its proximity to my office as I needed to stay the night for business.
On the surface everything looks fine (room wise) but when you start looking a little deeper, you can see how worn out everything is.
Most of the lamp shades have rips and holes, the desk chair is something you'd find at a cheap banquet hall. Cabinets don't fully close. The floor of the shower is cracked and worn. The tile in the bathroom is yellow with age. You just feel it isn't the cleanest because it's so worn.
Now the really bad. It is HOT in your room. They stop running

Spent 5 days here in the extremely HOT hotel. Guests can't control their own thermostats. No AC. The hotel shuts the system down for the season. My tiny room (King Luxury) was in need of repairs. Windows don't open, broken door to closet. Broken draperies that don't close completely. Broken lampshades and a tiny bathroom. The guests across the hall smoked weed the entire time and I could smell it coming through the walls. Told the folks at the desk, but nothing changed. There was a mini-fridge in the room, but it doesn't hold much due to shelves can't be adjusted and door

Guests DO NOT have control of temperature
/thermostat in rooms during Autumn or Spring. Hotel shuts it off. Our room was a sauna. Nearly 80° every day. Was told to open windows. Windows are permanently sealed. Was not told the AC would be shut off before paying for a week. Hotel charges $10. per day for coffee maker in room, even if you don't use it. We did not use it. I expected a small room in Manhattan , $200. for weeknights and $300. for weekend, but this very small room was in need of repairs. Broken doors, lampshades, etc.. HOT, HOT room! The fan didn't help much.

It’s clean and safe. It has absolutely zero amenities and doesn’t offer housekeeping because of the pandemic, but it was a lot less expensive than others around. Front desk staff were nice. More like a nice hostel than a hotel.

A weekend get-away from DC that included tickets to the botanical garden to see the Kusama exhibition, I chose this hotel based on its proximity to Penn Station--a 10 minute walk-- and Grand Central Station right around the corner and their website.

The hotel is the former Chemistry Club, but except for the facade, there isn't much detail remaining other than the high ceilings. The room was not luxurious. The furniture and lighting could use an upgrade. But that is true for most moderately priced hotels in NYC, so no surprise. And besides, it's NYC so who spends time in the room?

The hotel was very used like the night stand and the other furniture very used bed was uncomfortable felt like it was going to brake any time the view of my room wasn't so good if I open the window I would see the next building and trash lots of it. Don't be thinking that this is a nice hotel the elevator wasn't working so well either it toke 3 minutes or more for the elevator to come down or go up. They also don't have parking so I paid $45 per night at a garage. Also I was told to pay $10 extra for beverages that I didn't even asked they told me it's a policy. The

We decided to stay in the city since it was easier to commute. Dylan is right by the Grand Central Terminal (around 2 blocks) which was very convenient to the Metro north and Subway. We booked the winter package which included two chocolate bomb (we chose milk chocolate & matcha). We were able to get an early check in and the room was pretty spacious and tidy. My favorite was the nespresso machine (coffee addict) .. it was pretty useful since I didn't get any sleep. The only downfall was there is no housekeeping during this time because of covid but it is also understandable. Whenever

I found this great hotel on Expedia and I'm so happy I did. 👍👍💯😃
They opened back up for business two days before my stay and the entire hotel was spotless.
Rahman at check-in was super friendly and selected a great room for me.
The king room was HUGE! Tall ceilings, a view of the Chrysler Building, and great amenities.
At checkout, Jasmine was also super friendly, and everything was a breeze from start to finish.
The location can't be beat! A quiet street just off Park Avenue, easy access to Grand Central, Bryant Park, the library, and anything you could want in

Starting with the positives here:
-great location, easy to get to, and great access to subways
-room was clean (as far as I know- I really didn't examine things)
....that's about it! Now for the rest.
The bathroom shower sucks, we had a light going out in the bathroom as well and it gave us both headaches because it was continuously flickering.
Upon checkout, we were asked how we were planning on getting to the airport and when we answered with "a taxi" the front desk woman gave us the most insane look of disgust and insisted she let her call us a "town car" to take

What an amazing stay! This is my third time in NYC in the last 10 years, and by far the best stay. Dylan Hotel is perfectly located. Easy walk to Grand Central Station, but still walkable to Times Square, Central Park, Broadway! The staff were so welcoming!! Anita and Gia at the front were always so friendly and helpful. The GM, Matthew was attentive and has a great energy. The hotel is a historical chemist club, with a great bar nearby and a steakhouse attached. They've updated the hotel while keeping the charm. I'm not picky, so the things that are dated didn't bother me. The best

Hotel was very basic. We got the executive king suite, which we presumed would come with breakfast included, but it didn't. To get breakfast, it was an extra $20. We then requested our car from valet, they told us it was a 40 minute wait. We went for breakfast and came back 40 minutes later, and the car still wasn't there. If we had a flight to catch how late would this hotel and their services have made us???? Took an hour to get our car back, unbelievable! I will never stay in this hotel again. Very disappointing.

Stayed here most recently for a few nights while in NY for work. I won't let the fact that the door is literally across the street from the office affect my review. I'm basing it on the room itself, room service, the little gym that does the trick and the attentive staff.

I arrived early on a Sunday morning and asked if I could check in a little early which they gladly helped with by holding by bags for me and moving my check in up to 3pm while I walked around the city. The bed is very comfortable, the air conditioner quiet, the room itself is modern especially the bathroom. I ordered

Horrible. Stay here if you want to have a hotel room priced at $300 and they are too cheap to let you use the air condition. They solve this issue by giving you a plug in the wall fan. The lamp in my room is broke and crooked and to turn it off I have to pull the plug out of the socket.

During the middle of the night the ceiling caved and all disgusting moldy debris fell all over my stuff. Then they made it sound like they were doing me a favor by changing my room promising to refund me the room charge which they didn't.

I stayed here for work in April and it was great! I took the express bus in from Newark and the last stop dropped off a block away from the hotel. Talk about luck! The hotel has a smaller sign but the name is on the door so just make sure you look carefully.

I was in a suite when I stayed there which was fantastic. There was plenty of room and great amenities like extra toothpaste, brushes and shaving kit. The hotel is close to quite a few attractions and transit stops. It's central for getting into the city and was a block away from my office so win win. They offer luggage drop off before

I tried the Dylan Hotel as it was recommended by my company travel agent. It seemed like a tremendous value, especially in Midtown. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. The room i stayed in was as nice as any I have been in before. Newly renovated, clean, and very quiet. I was only in the property about 12 hours, but look forward to a longer enjoyable stay in the future. Staff was very friendly and helpful to. A great find!

We had an early flight out of JFK so my fiancé and I checked up HotelsTonight for a quick stay in the city for one night. At only $80 on a Saturday and the proximity to Grand Center, Airport Shuttles and walking to a million different restaurants we decided this would be a good option.

We arrived around 2PM (a bit early) but they offered to check our luggage while the room was getting ready. I understand that Saturday is a busy turnover time for rooms, but they said we could check in within an hour - we then checked in a 5:30 PM, they handed us a key and when we got up to our floor the housekeepers

So, I don't understand all the bad reviews this hotel has received. I mean, I read the comments and I respect fellow Yelpers, but this is actually not a bad place at all.

The location is amazing, in midtown Manhattan, steps away from Grand Central Station - where there's one of the Cipriani restaurants, and the newly restored Campbell Apartment Bar. Also nearby shopping on Madison Avenue and 5th Ave to the West, and the famous Park Ave to the East.

The lobby is neat and intimate, with a sitting area to the right and concierge and check in to the left.. Next door is a good restaurant

Ooh, Lord. This place was ... interesting. From the outside, the Dylan Hotel looks snazzy and exudes a certain NYC elegance to give it charm.

... But the rooms -- at least the one I stayed in -- was a different story.

Upon first glance, my room looked clean and a little work, though expected given the hotel's age. I noticed a small bag with some items on the desk and thought it was some sort of welcome kit. I didn't dig into it because I had to meet family for dinner, so I turned off the bathroom light that had been on -- quickly noticing the used travel bottle of face wash and bar
