Superb service. Dr. Chavis and his staff are highly skilled and friendly. The dental office use advanced dental technology which made having a full mouth x-rays taken, teeth cleaning, repair of chipped tooth, impression for tooth all in the same visit painless. Dr. Chavis explained the health of my mouth and showed me using a camera. The office is very clean and decorated well. Chavis Dental care about keeping and making smiles beautiful. Thank you.

I am so dentist-phobic that I used to go for years on end avoiding dentists. Dr. Chavis and his delightful staff have not only successfully fixed my numerous dental issues but they always make my visits pleasant and relatively stress-free, and since I started using this practice I have not felt like postponing a single appointment. Dr. Chavis is a wizard. His practice also has made heroic efforts to handle my reticent insurer on my behalf. As long as I have teeth I will forbid Dr. Chavis from retiring.

I was completely satisfied with mr Chavis as well as the staff... I was in agonizing pain when I arrived, and within less than 2 hours my abscess pain was just about gone. Mr Chavis was very clear and concise about what I need to to do regarding my teeth and his assistant also gave me post operation advice. I would highly recommend Mr Chavis to anyone that requires oral surgery, you will certainly appreciate the results.

Fantastic service. I've been seeing the same dentist since I moved to DC in 2014 and service there continued to decline. After going to Chavis Dental, I can tell that they were light years ahead of other dental offices. The staff is extremely friend and Dr. Chavis take the time to speak to you and go through you potential needs with you. They also have a lot of advanced technology in the office. I would highly recommend the office.

Dr Cary Chavis is the reason I went from having a ton of problems to great dental health. Great bedside manner, excellent communication about what to expect even about relatively uncomfortable procedures (which makes it easier), and then really good maintenance-level of visits.
His office is excellent about accepting insurance, transparent about out-of-pocket costs, and very convenient to schedule appointments. Strongest possible recommendation.

I've been going to Dr. Chavis for 20+ years and have always been extremely pleased with his work. His work is undeniably outstanding. He has always been our family and friends dentist. My girlfriend also goes to him and is quite pleased with his work and will state that his work is untouchable. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Chavis. Moving on I need to get myself to his office as I'm writing this review. Also, I must compliment his staff who has always been very warm and treated me like family.

Dr. Chavis and his office offer a first-rate, professional, modern dental experience. He and his staff are meticulous and exacting as well as warm and personable. I love never having to wait for my appointment, I love how Dr. Chavis will call to check up on me after an intense procedure, and I truly enjoy catching up with the dental hygienists when I am there for my six-month well visit.

I cannot say enough good things about Chavis Dental (and am perplexed by some of the less-than-favorable reviews below.) I have been seeing Dr. Chavis for nearly five years, and I have unfortunately wretched teeth, so that's given me a LOT of experience with his office. I think I am well suited to provide a review.
When I first went to Dr. Chavis, I hadn't been to a dentist in years because I was so terrified, but had a toothache that was so severe that my face was starting to swell. It was beyond excruciating.

I am shocked by some of the reviews, as they are the exact opposite of my experience. I have been going to Dr. Chavis for about 15 years, and it has been a great pleasure. Everyone there is highly professional. Dr. Chavis is the best dentist I have ever used. He is a perfectionist and extremely detail oriented. I have had a terrible set of teeth since I was young, and Dr. Chavis has set that all right. Sure, I have had work done, but nothing that did not make a substantial improvement. I came here at the advice of a friend and it was a HUGE mistake.
Terrible experience overall - went 3 times over 1 year. Very friendly front office staff but I caught 2 errors in their billing over the course of a year that, to their credit, they corrected - but I shouldn't have to play detective to figure out what the random charges were showing up in the mail.
The worst was Dr. Chavis - he is pushy and finds all sorts of unnecessary work. And god help you if you question or get a second opinion. He gets incredibly rude and defensive. I had a second opinion who "couldn't find

I strongly recommend Dr. Chavis and the staff. He treated my gum disease and did a lot of restorative work. He is an excellent dentist - smart, kind and thorough. He is aggressive about treating problems before they get out of control but also highly ethical. He got my gums in great shape. He also re-did three crowns that were not painful and looked fine, but revealed extensive decay when he opened up the tooth.
