Although District Dental Center was founded in 2016, the practice has been around for over 40 years. Prior to District Dental Center, the practice was called Washington's Choice Dental Care. We have been located in the Downtown/Dupont Circle neighborhood since inception, and have been in the current location for 4 years.
Dentistry, in particular cosmetic dentistry, has come a long way in recent years. Gone are the days of silver fillings, which are not only displeasing to the eye, but they can crack and damage the tooth. At District Dental Center, we chose to use composite bonded (tooth color) fillings to restore simple cavities.
Tooth whitening is a safe, non-invasive way to get that beautiful smile you've always wanted. At District Dental Center, we offer 2 ways to achieve your beautiful white smile: Zoom in-office whitening and Venus take-home custom whitening trays. Zoom is a bleaching process widely used to lighten discoloration of enamel and dentin.
Are you looking for an adult braces dentist? Look no further! Invisalign straightens your teeth using a custom-made series of clear aligners. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. They gradually shift your teeth without the need for metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten.
A routine dental cleaning should be completed by a hygienist at a minimum of every 6 months. A dental cleaning is important to prevent gum disease, also known as periodontal disease. It can also help detect oral cancer, tooth decay, and a plethora of other oral conditions. Unfortunately had to find a new dentist, and was impressed by Dr. Gialanella's thorough exam and consult. they referred me to a specialty dentist for multiple crowns requiring sedation, but District Dental is now my regular dentist. the dental hygienist is a pro, and my last cleaning was like when you get your car detailed and realize how it should be done.

Doctor gialanella Is friendly and give honest opinion and treat me with best care with advance tool. He never pushes anything that is not needed and explain everything about my teeth and also help refer great talented peer if I need other services beyond his scope . I like the hygienist too clean my teeth very thoroughly. If you live in dc area this is the place I would highly recommend for your routine check up.

Both Dr. G and Dr. S are super professional, trustworthy and just overall good people. I've had a variety of work done here from routine check ups to crowns, and it has been a very comfortable experience all the way. I strongly recommend this place to my friends and family with pride.

We've been going to Dr. G for years. Even followed him to DC after he moved his practice from Arlington. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and he and his team are professional, courteous, and friendly. There is no pressure here to get treatments that are unnecessary, as I have encountered at other dentists. He talks through the ins and outs of your options and you make decisions together based on what's best for you. Highly recommend!

Drs. Gialanella and Schoebel are the best in the business, as are dental hygienists Kasey and Nicole, and dental assistants Marisol and Vanessa; the front desk staff also couldn't be friendlier or more professional.

A doctor/dentist's office where the staff don't seem miserable to be there: what a treat! Dr. Gialanella is a friend of mine but I wouldn't have switched from my old dentist to him if he didn't also have a great reputation. The office is clean, modern, and conveniently located and everyone there is extremely friendly. Dr G is a smart, conscientious, and careful dentist.

Front desk staff are kind and professional. Waiting room is calm and quiet. I trust my dentist's recommendations and have only had positive experiences. I appreciate that they don't try to upsell or convince me to get unnecessary procedures. There is a parking garage conveniently located underneath (not complimentary).

I visited the District Dental Center for a second opinion as another dentist was recommending extra procedures that I was unsure of. All the staff at District Dental were so warm and helpful. The dentist was very friendly and patient, he explained his approach and insights, and answered all my questions. I had a great experience, I plan to keep visiting this office (even though it is an hour away from me) and would recommend you to anyone looking for a good dentist. Did I mention that this consultation was free?

Fantastic! Everyone in the office was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I got many, many questions answered, and am pursuing a course of treatment with confidence in their professionalism and experience. Dr. Schobel was unreasonably patient with my endless questions, I don't even want to say how much of his time I took: he was thorough, confirmed much of what I thought I understood of my complicated dental status, and helped fill in countless blanks. This was a fantastic experience! Like many, I loathe going to the dentist. I've, unfortunately, had too many experiences with dentists in my life (are any of my teeth real?) and I was met with misfortune in most of those dental experiences. But District Dental sets the standard for dental care. Hands down, this is definitely one of the best experiences I've had in DC. It may even be one of the best I've had in general!

District Dental is the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. I'm slow to trust doctors of any sort and truly hate being upsold or pressured into procedures that aren't yet necessary. Dr. Schobel and the team of hygienists here are personable, caring, transparent and thorough. In addition to x-rays, the office takes clear photos of your teeth so you can see what they see, and you can better understand any areas of concern. They earned my trust by explaining everything thoroughly using the images. I highly recommend this practice. Thank you for the excellent care!

Overall, great customer service. I switched to DDC two years ago looking for a more personal/individual care, and I found it. Dr. Gialanella is legit but most importantly, he has one of the best dental hygienist working with him. Silvina is so far the best I have experienced. She is kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. She is really concern about my dental hygiene and help me achieve great outcomes with each visit.

Let me start by saying, I have been in DC for going on 6 years and this is the 3rd Dentist I have been to in that time. The previous two places were unreliable, inefficient and incompetent, so you can imagine how THRILLED I was to find this office!

I've been seeing Dr. Gialanella for about 4-5 years now and followed him to DC when he opened his own practice! I've lived in many places and had many dentists and he's by far the best I've ever had. Extremely personable, patient, and focused on providing the best care. He takes the time to explain everything and makes sure you're completely comfortable during your entire visit. The entire staff there is awesome and shout out to Nicole, one of the hygienists, who just makes my cleanings fly by with fun!

I was really impressed with Dr. Gialanella and the whole office at District Dental. I was trying to look for a place to add in front veneers after getting my braces off and ultimately chose District Dental because of another dentist's recommendation and by looking through the Yelp reviews. It was ultimately the Yelp reviews that made me pick them. All the positive Yelp reviews are accurate, and I'm very happy with them.

They provide great service in a very nice facility but watch out for surprise billing and make sure to advocate for yourself. The hygienist tried to force fluoride treatment on me which isn't covered by insurance and gave me x-rays at shorter intervals than my insurance covers (and shorter than what the ADA recommends) against my request (I asked to only have the service my insurance covered) and now I'm stuck with a big bill. Incredibly frustrating.

Dr. Gialanella is the best! He's very patient and caring. He helped to fix a discolored tooth due to a dying nerve. I was getting married in a month and he got my yellow tooth to match in brightness. It was perfect! I was also looking for a regular dentist and from this experience, I'm not going anywhere else! This center doesn't take my insurance but they make it painless to get reimbursed. Great staff overall!

I saw Dr G. because I was grinding my teeth. I got an appointment the same week I called. He has a great bedside manner. Very attentive and thorough. He fitted me for a mouth guard. We also discussed other treatments like acupuncture, but I never felt like he was up selling me, which is something I've been annoyed at with other dentists.
The office staff and technicians are very friendly and professional. I was also impressed with how clean and modern the center was--especially compared to other dentists I've visited. There is parking in the garage below, but I just walked from my office
