Midori Sushi & Hibachi

Wonderful restaurant. My husband and I went here for his birthday. I mentioned it in passing to the server and at the end of our meal he came over with cheesecake and sang to my husband with me. He was smiling and having fun with it. Such a nice moment! Excellent staff.
The food is amazing and very reasonably priced! Highly recommend trying the plum wine.
What a special place to have in a town like Englewood. Going back today.

A great little spot in a shopping center. The place was a Godsend when i worked on Placida Road for lunchtime. The sushi was amazing. The employees were always super nice.

Only gripe is that when ordering takeout, it always took longer than stated or expected. So allow for that extra time if you're ordering lunch for work.

We have eaten here often and have had excellent food and service. We have brought others with us for dinner at least 4 other times. Today I checked the website to make sure they were open on Monday. The website indicated they were open. When we arrived, a note on the door said starting July 5, they would be closing on Monday. There is nothing on the website to indicate this. We were not happy.

Last night my daughter and I had dinner at Midori. What a treat!
We ordered sushi as an appetizer and it was really delicious. The spicy tuna roll was the best my daughter had tasted, she said. I have to agree . We also shared a California roll, equally good and a fresh water eel which was baked. My daughter, the more experienced and adventurous sushi lover ordered it and again we shared it.Very flavorful.

The only thing that outshines the food here is the amazing staff that prepares and serves it to you. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and willing to do what it takes to make your experience enjoyable. If you aren't a regular at Midori, i have no idea why 🤷🏼‍♂

I went for lunch when I was in town for work, they have great lunch specials and I thoroughly enjoyed the filet hibachi! It doesn't even feel like you are in Englewood. Highly recommend!

Ordered yesterday for the first time because I got a DoorDash promo and Midori is close by and delivery was quick! I ordered a "hand rolled" California Roll and the Hibachi shrimp dinner. It came with soup and salad. It also came with vegetables and fried rice! The California roll was absolutely amazing.! It was a seaweed wrap with rice and avocado and crab. Amazing! I'm going to order two next time!. The shrimp was absolutely delicious. All of it was great!!

Great sushi here. We were staying about 10 minutes away for 10 days and this is the only place we went back to multiple times. Salmon lovers was great, we also got the katsu which also didn't disappoint.

My family of 6 love Hibachi and wanted to try a new place since our old spot is always busy lately. Came here when we searched it. Came and and was immediately seated. Waiter took our drinks right away.. not the type they cook in front of you btw.. we got our soup which was very tasty actually.. each one of us got hibachi either chicken steak, or both combined. All very tasty and on point.. we also got some shrimp rolls and chicken rolls. Cooked to perfection.. overall just a great experience for a new spot. Will go back again!

Ever since I have moved to the Sarasota area I have been on the hunt for a Hibachi place that compares to the one I had in Pennsylvania. After visiting multiple places (only to be disappointed) and lots of research, I finally found this gem. Although this is not an entertainment style hibachi, do not let that keep you away.
We were seated immediately after entering and were pleased to see that they are following the current recommended CDC COVID-19 guidelines. I ordered the hibachi chicken and scallops with noodles, and my boyfriend ordered the chicken hibachi. Our meals came with both soup and

My wife and I have ordered take out a couple of times and have enjoyed each meal. Their menu makes you think that you can pay ahead, but you can't. My only gripe is that there is no tofu that you can have instead of meat on various dishes. We have had a couple of sushi rolls, which we liked. My wife splurged and had the lobster combo and she loved it. We will continue to go there, but we do like Nan's Thai in Port Charlotte better.

This is one of the best sushi places I've been to in the country! Quality seafood and generous portions. Fast service and the most polite and friendly staff who are willing to take the time to explain anything on the menu to make sure you get exactly what you want. They also have a full hibachi menu for those who aren't into raw fish.
Also their lunch menu is a real bargain. Definitely worth checking out. You may even become a regular...

Sushi was NOT fresh and was unappetizing. Fried calamari appetizer looked like it came from a Sara Lee frozen box. Hibachi Chicken dinner, however, was very good.
Miso soup was excellent and the salad was tasty. Seaweed salad and crab ragoon were very good. Server (Jason?) was attentive and courteous.
The reason for the poor rating is that our main reason for this first visit is was the sushi, and we were more than disappointed. At the risk of recommending and making our favorite sushi place in Sarasota even harder to get into, its worth the 40 minute trip for us.

Had lunch here today, place was busy but we were able to get seated right away. our waitress was friendly and attentive. We both had hibachi lunch specials, one with scallops and the other with steak and chicken, both came with soup and fried rice. Soup had a good taste and not to hot that you had to wait to sip it. Fried rice was good along with the scallops, steak and chicken. place has only been open a couple of weeks but their were no flaws in the food or service.

A new local treasure! Happy me! I am a HUGE sushi fan, and these folks have a terrific menu. First time in-I had the lunch special-2 sushi rolls & miso soup for $8.95. Hubby had Bento box for $9.99, lots of food. Beautiful store, water walls, soft instrumental music. Just lovely!!! Closed from 2-4pm. Also teriyaki & tempura for those who want non-raw.
