Seated right away, but after a long wait we had to ask for a waitress. Waitress finally arrived and said it was the hostess fault she didn't know we were there, though we watched her tend to tables around us. Had to ask mgmt for our appetizer, then shortly after getting it the waitress arrived with someone else's food. She said it was the kitchen's fault; was very disappointed in the service. We live on the island and will only go back as a last resort.

Vacation Dinner our last evening in FL (10/10/21) We took a 60 sec. car ferry across the water to get to the restaurant (NOTE! We came in from the wrong direction, lol.) However, the restaurant was great! Food was outstanding and plentiful. Not used to shrimp that meaty, tender and flavorful. Our waitress was beyond exceptional (Lauren?). Anyway.... don't miss a chance for some great food & atmosphere in a great part of old Florida!!

Very disappointed with the food. It was terrible! Used the water taxi which cost $6.00 per person. Server has great, very friendly and informative. We ordered Mahi tacos. The tortilla was cold, dry and hard. Two Snappers were not fresh and fried in old oil reused. Both were dark inside and not flaky. Baked potato was over cooked and dry. Terrible, terrible. Don't let the pictures fool you, it's all about the taste and freshness of your food. Manager removed two drinks, one snapper and taco mahi mahi from the check.

Great place to stop for a bite or just get a cold drink on a hot day. They don't have a lot of boat slips which is kinda disappointing since you can only get there by boat or the ferry, but that's just life. The restaurant itself is nice and clean and the wait staff is always friendly. We've been there several times but this time we only stopped into to get drinks at bar.

Ate here for the first time not too long ago. My guy had fish and chips, he really liked it. I had the grilled Bleu Tomatoes...tomatoes in Florida are meh, but this certainly was a great appetizer anyway....We really enjoyed the short water taxi ride. The restaurant atmosphere is nice, typical Floridian fish, nautical and sporting fish decor..nice enclosed area that looks out on to the island. Nothing really outstanding about the meal we had, except for the amazing creme brûlée cheesecake! but the atmosphere and ride there made it fun.

We took some visitors to Rum Bay. We had never been there, but thought the boat ride would add to the experience.
For lunch I had the grilled mahi mahi with blue crab. The mahi appeared to be about 4 ounces, probably previously frozen. It was about 1/4 inch thick topped with about an ounce of shredded blue crab. It was supposed to be served with a Key West scampi sauce (whatever that is). I thought the sauce would have been on the fish, but no - all I was served was a small cup of some kind of sauce, that was not a scampi sauce. The fish was dry.
The price was not bad until you add in

Average food and False advertising regarding their happy hour. Website states draft beers and featured wines are part of happy hour however that is not the case. Very dissatisfied customer. When this was brought to the manager's attention she stated it was up to the customer to ask the waitress exactly what was included as part of their happy hour. This is not how you treat a customer. Will not return EVER AGAIN!!

I went to the Rum Bay Restaurant with a group of 7. When I ate at Leverocks I saw the water taxi to the Rum Bay restaurant. A nice local couple told us that we should go & that it is their favorite restaurant. We took our boat from the Inlet on Boca Grande. The boat ride is very nice, mostly in the channel & you see lots of pretty houses. We didn't know about the Palm Island Ferry & the ferry captain was very rude to us. The dock & the pathway to the restaurant are very well constructed. The restaurant itself is very nice. Ryan was our waiter & provided great service.

First time eating out here and won't be returning. We had the ribs, peal and eat shrimp, ahi tuna, chicken wings, and the chicken parm.
All the food was just okay the ribs were dry but had decent flavor, the tuna was fresh but missing salt, the wings were served plain and were good but needed sauce of some kind, the chicken was strange due to the odd choice of bredding, the noodles were over cooked and the sauce was defiantly from a can.
The peal and eat shrimp were the highlight of the meal and were good but not great. Over all the bill came to 75$ plus a 45$ boat ride. If you are planing

We had a nice lunch here. The service was friendly and a bit slow, but I think we are on Island time here. Not an easy place to get to, take a ferry to the Island, this is the one public restaurant you can drive to on the Palm Island resort, So... Low key. Park your car and walk in to the resort, no cars.
Really liked the grilled tomato and bleu cheese appetizer, original! Had the blackened fish tacos for lunch.
By the way, Rum Bay is on Yelp with multiple locations, this one is accurate, I think!

Had a great time and the service was excellent. I believe our server was named Lelan or something close to that.
We sat out on the patio surrounded by trees - nice spot but watch out for bug bites at sunset.
Food was hit and miss. Fish tacos are HUGE and yummy even though fish was overlooked/dry. Server offered to give me one hard and one soft taco when I couldn't decide. As he had described the soft taco is much easier to manage but hard is worth trying - instead of a corn tortilla it is the flour tortilla deep fried. Caesar salad starter was good. Home made croutons clearly made from
