Originally from McLean, VA, Dr. Soltani has been improving oral health and creating gorgeous results for patients for twenty years now. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park, and Boston University, where he attended the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, District of Columbia Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
We, at My Face My Smile, are proud and honored to have Dr. Neha Agarwal as part of our team. Dr. Neha Agarwal is a Periodontist and Implant surgeon who completed her training from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine along with her Masters in Dental Science Degree. She also completed a one year Periodontics-Prosthodontics fellowship certification before starting her residency program.
A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.

Dr. Soltani and his team were incredibly flexible and lightning fast without losing a careful touch. I was in DC for a couple of weeks coming from Memphis and then heading overseas. I knew my mouth needed serious dental work and unfortunately the work I received in Memphis was incredibly subpar. I casually decided to look up my dentist on Yelp and am very disappointed by the negative reviews so I'm here to issue a rebuttal.
I came to Dr. Soltani a couple of years ago after my employer changed insurance providers. I was initially overwhelmed with the amount of work he recommended and, frankly, skeptical because my last two dentists told me everything was kosher.
I'm kicking myself for having waited as long as I had to do the work he recommended. Trust me when I say that when he opened up one of my molars (removed all the old metal fillings), my tooth was BROWN inside. Brown

I am so satisfied and so happy with Dr. Soltani! I came in for emergency and broke my tooth! He immediately saw me! I live in Arlington in ballston, I happened to walk pass by and walked in. He immediately took care of my tooth and did a root canal! It was a PAINLESS experience! As the anesthesia wore off, I felt so great! I went the next day to do same day crown!! I didn’t have to wait for two weeks to have my real crown like other dentist in past had to make me wait! Not this place! The front desk was so nice and the assistant had excellent bed side manner! Amazing experience! I found Dr. Soltani through my insurance Cigna! I called and made an appointment and the front desk made sure I was covered before coming to my appointment. I am afraid of doctor visits but Dr. Soltani made me feel like home. He did my cleaning very gentle. He let me see my X-rays through his tv in front of my chair and explained why I needed crowns. Dr. Soltani does same day crowns! Cindy in the front desk, explained every detail and confirmed with insurance before the procedure. She was absolutely helpful! I will always come back to this office for my cleaning and stay cavity

I went in search of a periodontist last week for a gum issue that was bothering me. The receptionist returned my call first thing Monday morning to schedule an appointment on Friday, the earliest available. She assured me they took my insurance and took down my information.
The day before, on Thursday, she left me a message saying the periodontist did not in fact take my insurance. I finally walked over to the office after trying to call back six times to resolve the issue.

I was recently made a aware of a small balance that was owed on the account and started to receive very unprofessional communication from this office. The representative I spoke with Michelle was beyond unprofessional. I’ve never received such poor service my entire life. Even the email communication from this office is poor. I went to this dentist a few years ago and I did not go back. The dentist tried to tell me that I needed to get expensive porcelain fillings on many of my teeth, basically implying that my teeth were about to rot out of my mouth (they are not, says every dentist since!). It was upsetting and clearly an attempt to up-charge.

I wish I could give this place 100 stars because everyone on this staff, team is absolutely amazing! I won't go into my big huge long story... but had bad dental work done while living on base in Japan with extreme tooth, mouth, and jaw pain. I was on 800 mg Motrin 3 x a day for over a month. We were moving during this process while vacationing, so we didn't even have our home yet or anything. Tried a few dentists on vacation... they didn't want to deal me... This office is a billing nightmare, stay away. I ended up with over $5,000 in bills for routine work. This is because they incorrectly told me my insurance was accepted in the DC office, when it was only accepted at their Arlington office. This was a horrific experience to have to pay after months of going back and forth with the office and my insurance company. Dr. Soltani was very condescending and not understanding about it. This place over-bills and scams money out of you. I'd gone in and Dr. Soltani started offering me a bunch of services saying it's good for your dental health but doesn't tell you that it will be charged out of pocket. He said I needed a night guard and I told him I already had one, but then he suggested to make another one for me. At that point, I was just really confused why he would suggest to make me something I already had. It just felt like he was prescribing a bunch of unnecessary services as a cheap way of making money. When I raised a question about an amount I had been billed compared to the estimate (which was 3x less than what I was charged), the office became extremely defensive and was initially unable to provide me with an explanation of why there had been such a discrepancy. Something in their system had been factored into my estimate in error, which I accepted. Would strongly advise against anyone from visiting My Face, My Smile. The work was fine, but the billing and underestimate was ridiculous. I paid my estimate on the spot, only to be billed with a 145% increase compared to what I was originally estimated. I've lived all across the country and have never been given such a poor estimate. Judging from other opinions shared on this page, I strongly believe this is more than a system mis-calculation, but a method to max profit while underquoting estimates. Though I had a good visit with Dr. Soltani, his office's incompetence when it comes to refunding my HSA card (after they overcharged me during two visits) has caused my card to become suspended. Dr. Soltani and his staff repeatedly dodge my emails and calls, make up reasons for why my card can't be refunded, and make promises they don't follow up on. Never go here and if you do, be sure not to pay until AFTER insurance goes through!

First off, on my very first visit, Dr. Soltani had me spending hundreds of dollars before I even opened my mouth. He tried to convince me that my bite was improper by feeling my jaw with my mouth shut. He also said that I grind my teeth in my sleep so i would need a night guard ($$$). So after 40+ years of going to the dentist regularly, I suddenly am being told I grind my teeth in my sleep? I wasn't buying it...literally. I told Dr. Soltani that I was not

Cleaning was the most painful and rushed cleaning I have ever received. Doctor was in and out in about 15 minutes and he was constantly trying to upsell me on various equipment and surgeries.
If you just need your teeth cleaned I would highly suggest going someplace else.
Best part was after telling me I have this small cavity that needs to be filled and I need to see this specialist who will be in next Friday, I go up to pay and the person doesn't bother to ask me when I want to schedule my cavity or my next cleaning and gives me no information on the surgery.
Do yourself a favor and

I stopped in, and then called numerous times to make an appointment. Literally, a dozen times. Either no one would pick up (and yes, it was during their office hours), or someone would pick up and say they'd call me back and never did, or they'd answer and say they didn't yet know the schedule to give me an appointment. I had bad fear for any dental treatment, but Dr Soltani changed my perspective. With his help, I care a lot more about my dental health and picked up my encouragement to fix those problems.

It's hard to find a good dentist-- and the process is grueling but Dr. Soltani surpassed my expectations! I found him on my insurance website and hoped the previous yelp reviews were accurate. He is one of the best dentists I've ever met (and that's saying a lot because I get really bad anxiety going to dentists). His bedside manner was superb- he has a calming voice and walks you through the details of your x-rays, explains his treatment plan prior to going into your mouth, and then calmly talks you through as he's working. Came in and got laser hair removal, since I moved and the last place burnt me so I was hesitation. I am so glad I did, the staff are so friendly and Mojie was great! I even got a microdermabrasion and my skin looked amazing after, a little pink though but not red like most people i know who get it done from other places. It's been a few weeks since my first laser treatment I already see results. I highly recommend this place! :)
