Hot sour soup was good, chicken karaage was excellent. The seafood deluxe was cold, didn't taste as fresh.

They don’t even deserve one star. Ordered takeout two days again. Went early to have a cocktail. When done went home. Took the bag out of my back seat. And within seconds the bag broke. I called them. They offered a $ 20 gift but I would have to repay to reorder. Never would never go back. The manager was So rude

I have been going to the East for years but then I found the Greenleaves Chinese restaurant in York, The East has OK food, nothing special, but they have increased their prices of late and I now prefer to drive the 10 miles or so to Greenleaves where the food is better and less expensive.
The East charges $10 for their Polynesian drinks which I think is ridiculous. They have also added $1.00 for all food items I didn't like either.

This is a great Chinese restaurant with Japanese selections. The building itself was amazingly authentic. My wife and and a friend and I had a great meal. Our server was Amanda who was fantastic, she made sure we received everything we wanted. The food was spot on. I had Happy Families we also had crab Rangoon and Beef Lo Mein. PERFECT. No complaints. Great night out to end a wonderful week in Ogunquit Maine.

The star is solely for our friendly server. The food was lousy, congealed rice, dumplings that were cold inside, and entrees straight from a warming tray. There were only four other lunch customers, that should have clued us in. We've been here many times in the past, never again.

Great service, great food. Really nice professional place. They aren't going to yell at you or pull the tablecloth out from underneath the table. There were not many fish in the tank, but who cares?

The food and service is excellent here. We have been here many times. They are no longer serving the buffet because of lack of help.We had a Pu Pu platter, House fried rice, and Chicken Lo Mein. My drink was a MaiTai. I would definitely recommend this place.

We've been going here for the Sunday buffet for years. It features a large buffet that has something to please everyone in our large family.
The website says they still have the buffet, so we went again last Sun. We were terribly disappointed that there is no longer a buffet. Food ordered off the menu varied in quality.

With lack of staffing, we totally understood the wait would be longer for most places, this one included. That was not a problem at all! The problems arose when our waitress dumped a tray of waters on my 3 year old child, who spent the entirety of dinner irked and her dress soaked. (With zero anything offered to compensate for the inconvenience of a cranky, wet child who had a tray of drinks poured onto her). Then had to ask for the rest of the waters for our table that she never got after pouring them. We got crab rangoons, and the dinner for 3 platter. Most everything was good, we really enjoyed

I don't understand why this restaurant is getting poor reviews. We have eaten there twice since it reopened from COVID (in the bar) and both times the food was very good as were the drinks. will definitely go there again!

The worst Chinese food that we have ever had! Completely flavorless that's hard to do with Chinese food but it was accomplished! It was clear to us that our server had no interest in working that day. She was awful. I ordered the Seafood fried rice, there were 3 small scallops 3 non deveined shrimp and a very small amount of very dry and tasteless previously frozen lobster meat. Husband ordered the sweet and sour shrimp just awful. Folks there is a McDonalds down the street you would be better served, literally! DO NOT GO!

Wow. This place is a freaking mansion. The statues out front, the fish tank inside, the spiral staircases. It's magnificent. The carpet is straight out of a movie.

But, the food is out of this world. We have been in Maine for about 3 hours, and instead of eating a lobster (yet) because I didn't see one in the tank, we decided Chinese food in the state furthest away from our home.

We shared the General Tso chicken, with an egg roll and pork fried rice. We also got the Chicken Hong Kong style chow mein.

And woah. Just hold on. That pork, so pink, so sweet, so flavorful. The pig wasn

East Restaurant would probably be a five-star but, no hot tea, no brown rice, no shiitake mushrooms, and they forgot to add mushrooms to the order. Regardless the food was good n tasty and the service was excellent. Definitely worth a second look.

We visit East yet our recent orders have been a mixed bag.
The house Lo Mein had overcooked meats (clearly leftovers) with almost no vegetables and somewhat dry. The egg rolls were good yet the dumplings have been quite doughy.

I can't tell you how much I miss "Dining In" at this great restaurant.
Yes, the takeout food is great and we should all support our favorite restaurants during Covid but when and if things get back to normal don't miss a chance to "Dine In" here.
Jeff the Sushi Chef is a great guy and a remarkable chef.
Richard on the wait staff is a complete gentleman and an outstanding asset to the restaurant.
I've had Sushi all over the Country and believe it or not this place in Wells Maine holds its own with all of them.
Please open for indoor dining soon. We miss you

Very surprised by some of the bad reviews because I feel this is one of the Chinese restaurants I've ever been to.
We know a lot of people that feel the same.

We never do the buffet, we always eat off the regular menu.

They have a very large menu and even offer French Fries for those picky eaters..

If you were considering spending your money on sushi at East Restaurant - think again.
We ordered three rolls tonight, East Roll, Boston Maki Roll and Honolulu Roll and received these.

(Please see the fire stick for size reference)

The rolls taste fine? The fish could be a bit fresher, but the roll size is just mind blowing. We spent $35-40 on these three rolls and we're shocked with the small size of these.

Last year we stumbled upon East Restaurant while looking for a good Chinese food meal. We absolutely loved it. This year, we hunted this place back down. East Restaurant is unique compared to many restaurants. The selection is so abundant that there are two menus to choose from! They have Japanese, Thai, Chinese.. oh my. One of my favorite appetizers is spring rolls. Check. They were perfect. The peanut sauce wasn't made quite the way I would prefer, but it still tasted good. We also ordered edamame. It was cooked a little more than usual, but still tasted awesome.
For entrees, my daughter ordered

Finding good Chinese food in Maine is like trying to find a palm tree in Alaska...but alas, there's at least one. On a trip to Ogunquit with my Asian mom, who admittedly can't go more than 24 hrs without craving rice or the smell of ginger and garlic, we searched near and far for said smells, and landed on East.

Not only did they deliver food-wise, they were super polite and were spot on with service. They did cater some of the dishes to suit the more Asian palate (add that extra garlic and throw in some more exotic fare) my mom has, which was really above and beyond what we could&apos

This food is not good. My food was basically grey chicken with some kind of canned gravy? I have drank like 5 glasses of water since that meal because it was so salty. I did not eat much of this meal. It was most definitely not worth the money I paid. If I were you, SKIP THIS ONE. Go to subway down the street, or McDonald's, also down the street. Anything else!

An attractive restaurant from the outside, but inside I had easily the worst meal I have ever had! Everything was 10x saltier than it should have been. The rice dishes were inedible they were so salty.

Only about 4-5 tables were occupied in the dining room, but we still waited a long time time to order and even then had to try flagging down and calling to staff several times.

Had to stand outside the kitchen doors to get someone's attention to get tea. (Had to do the same to get our check after the meal.)

Beef and brocolli was salty and tasted like it came from a cheap frozen dinner
