I'll start by saying that this restaurant is in an incredible setting, a converted abbey on a hill, with stunning Hudson River views. It's a part of the Abbey Inn and Spa. I'll add that I think we are living through unprecedented times when it's difficult for businesses to find staff, so I'm going to cut the restaurant some slack. I loved the fact that we had to show proof of vaccination status to eat there, and that every single member of their staff wore a mask. It made me and my husband feel safe on the Tuesday evening we ate there.

It is such a disappointing shame this place lacks decent service. Views and restaurant is beautiful, food is great! But the service is so bad it ruins the entire experience, have been to spa and restaurant a few times, spa is great, staff in spa super nice!!! Though dining much different experience, twice had same waitress that clearly does not belong in a finer dining restaurant, this last time was past just lacking service to downright rude. Very very disappointing. This restaurant does not fit with the level of its setting. The food was barely adequate. Two of us had Caesar salad with homemade dressing and chicken breasts added. It was just lettuce there wasn’t anything else not even shaved Parmesan cheese. The dressing had zero flavor and the chicken was totally dried out. For $22 each. I had the Bronzino with roasted broccoli Rabe. Broccoli Rabe was delicious. Bronzino was very plain, very small portion not even rice, potato, quinoa nothing. For $32. Ridiculously overpriced. Fabulous , innovative , healthy farm-to-table restaurant for dinners. Also serves lunches and Sunday brunches, but menu not as good. Thanksgiving day 1pm meal was beyond words. No heavy gravy and stuffing. Even the salad was incredible. No heavy dressing--just the true taste of veggies wonderfully seasoned. And the price was not over the top but reasonable. Great view of Hudson Valley. A rare find in Westchester County!

Had dinner last night, Tuesday, so could not see a view, and it was not very busy. Greeted warmly and were given a choice of seats. Very good wine list with selections at every price range. Great oysters and crispy porchetta appetizers. Very nice mignonette with the super fresh oysters The porchetta was fatty/salty/crispy delicious.... I wanted more! Dinner was the crispy polenta over a squash succotash, super crispy and delicious. The cavatelli exceeded any expectations I may have had.. A super creamy cherry ice cream was the cherry on top. Not rushed, service was very good. We will return.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Loved the ambiance. Food was good and our server was fantastic. After dinner our party of four, had cocktails in the cute little bar area were we met another couple celebrating their 50th wedding Anniversary. I guess it was last call (it was barely 10:00) because they suddenly pulled the gate closed, a little rude, they could have just told us. So when we all got up to leave they told us there was a sitting area around the corner to finish our drinks, again, rude! We were in the sitting area for maybe 20 minutes when a young gentleman came over and told us people

The service here is impeccable! If you want the royal treatment, it's the place to go! And, of course, you can't beat the beautiful views of the Hudson! They did a fantastic job renovating this place and turning it into a high-end hotel, restaurant, and spa. We came here for dinner and enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the main course and the drinks.
This is definitely an excellent spot for the view and special occasions.

We had the option of sitting outside which was lovely! (Especially once we got a lantern since it was an 830pm res!) We sat right by the little koi pond. The food was yummy! Not the best I've ever had but good. My husband enjoyed the cappiletti and the charred peach appetizer was to die for. I also enjoyed my strawberry Panna cotta for desert. Lovely vibe and staff. I usually like marrow straight up, but the way it was made was with a sprinkling of cheese and seasoning; it was unbelievably excellent. Staying at the inn and wanted to try the in-house restaurant. The decor is very corporate and uninviting. We waited for a minute or more at the door without anyone greeting us. We walked around the restaurant looking for a host or manager until a server asked what we needed.

We took a recommendation from Westchester magazine to try this place and it was a home run.
We had a stellar experience.
Try the whipped ricotta and snow peas, baked clams' the Bronzino, the Lamb Tagliatelle, Olive Oil Cake & the Panna Cotta.
My wife Hudson Royal drink was great. I had the Barbera-it went great with the Tagliatelle.
If you're a foodie looking for something different this should be at the top of your list

High atop a hill, looking west over the Hudson, the location can not be easily rivaled. We look forward to returning in the spring to enjoy a sunset. The meal was tasty, prepared and presented well with a nice selection. One expects that the menu will change seasonally. Unfortunately, our enjoyment was somewhat diminished by rushed service.
We found it surprising that we could not get a glass of sherry or port....we were told there was none. We also were told only craft beers were served, thus no Stella Artois, Lowenbrau. etc. Also surprising was the fact that wait staff were dressed in jeans

I was looking forward to enjoying a amazing meal for my birthday. I have to disclose due to Covid the entire seating outlay had to be changed . I was given a table it what really was a corridor. The outdoor seating next to the fountain may have been better but was too cold . The service was slow . I understand since the waiter had a much longer trek from bar/kitchen to table . The Meal didn't really make up for the lack of ambience . The portions were anemic and the cocktails too overpriced . The only memorable dish was the fig appetizer. Not so memorable birthday .

We had dinner and breakfast here while we stayed at The Abbey Inn and Spa. The food was incredible. The Crispy Local Chicken was cooked to perfection! The food is a little on the expensive side, and sides are an additional charge. However, we were staying here for our anniversary and wanted to splurge on ourselves. We are so glad we did! They wait staff is attentive and friendly. If we were ever to be back in the area, we would dine again.

We ate indoors and felt completely safe and secluded. Our waiter was a really nice guy and gave us tips about local things to do and see as we were visiting for the day / night. My husband's Bloody Mary was unique and awesome - highly recommend. It's not one that's traditional and filled with horseradish- it seems like their own mix. Our food was incredible! I got the Eggs El Forno and I feel that I may dream about it -lol. My husbands burger was cooked perfectly and really enjoyed the mozzarella cheese verses traditional cheese. Overall an amazing experience!

Had a wonderful family dinner with my in-laws at Apropos in late September for their late summer menu. Everything was fantastic - the cocktails (we had quite a few!), food and service. Chef John and his team are so talented, I'm looking forward to returning to Apropos again and again for celebrations and casual dinners. Also, the Abbey Inn & Spa is just gorgeous! A beautiful escape right in our backyard!
