The Preschool at St. Andrew is a community outreach of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. The preschool is a ministry of the church designed to assist families with education, parenting, and faith development. We have chapel for 30 minutes each week. The children sing and have a short Bible story.
We promote simple faith lessons with the underlying theme that 'God loves us and expects us to do good things.' We avoid any complicated theology. About 1/3 of our students and teachers are members of St. Andrew. Information about the programs at St. Andrew such as VBS, Exercise Classes, Women's Circle meetings and special events are shared with all our Preschool Families.

Services
The Preschool at St. Andrew plans learning activities that are appropriate to the child's age and development. We have established goals at each age level that are developmentally appropriate and designed to prepare the child for kindergarten experiences. We have made a special effort to coordinate our goals with the GA Early Learning Standards (GELDS).
St. Andrew UMC Preschool has earned accreditation through the National Assocciation for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our school has completed a voluntary, comprehensive process of internal self-study and improvement. We meet all 10 of the programs standards indentified by NAEYC! These standards are verified through regular site visits and annual reports.
Each month, parents receive a calendar listing the themes for class activities and important dates. Parents receive frequent notes from teachers and a monthly school newsletter. Teachers frequently use email to stay in touch. Student goals are shared with parents.
A mid-year conference reviews the progress that the child has made in mastering the goals and objectives on our Progress Reports and gives suggestions for the classes for the next school year.Parents are always welcome. They are requested to help with at least 1 party during the year. Class parties become a good time for parents to visit with each other and get to know other children in the class.

How much fun can you have in school? A lot - if you're a student in our classes for two's and young two's! Our toddlers are ready for language experiences and flourish in our nuturing environment. Our teachers maintain regular contact with parents so that moms feel secure leaving their young children at our school.
If you prefer to send in your registration materials in your child's bag, we will add you to the list at the end of the day. If you intend to return next fall, make sure your child is on our list before Public Registration starts 2/1. If for some reason you want to register but cannot register by 2/1 please call the office.
