Lenny's Pizza & Italian Grill

Lenny's has been a Lavallette landmark restaurant for more decades than I can remember. They started out as just a take out and delivery pizzeria
and quickly expanded to dine-in with an expanded menu.
Currently, Lenny's is at the left entrance the original open kitchen pizza palace that primarily servaces take-out customers. To the right is the very popular in Summer main dining room where guests can enjoy both classic pizza, pasta items and a selection of fine dining menu items with Lenny's excellent flair. So, it is both an original old school pizzeria and an upscale casual bistro.
Best Italian

The very best shrimp I have had in years, with a sauce that made me want to lick the bowl! My son's lasagna was amazeballs. And the limoncello for dessert was droolworthy. Staff is warm and friendly, made ya feel like family. I cannot wait until I get to visit again!

This place was delicious! I got the shrimp Danielle. The shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly. Pizza was amazing. Fresh bread was wonderful. Portions were big, service was exceptional! I could eat here every night!

Absolutely terrible. I ordered on line. It indicated 1.5 hrs to pick up. Got there 5 minutes before pick up time and it was obvious the food had been sitting. The pizza was cold and burnt - eating the box would have been an improvement. The broccoli rabe and sausage was burnt and dried. The broccoli rabe itself was ok. The mozzarella sticks were so rubbery, they were inedible. We are so very disappointed in the downward spiral of this family establishment. We had been loyal year round customers for 20+ years but we’re done. This is not a one-off happenstance. We’ve been giving them the benefit

I would give 5 stars because the Pizza is really good. But we ordered two dinners a couple days later and they weren't that great. I had the piccata and it was really watery and there was maybe 4 or 5 capers at most. My friend had the francese which tasted good, but again it was just super watery. I would totally recommend them for pizza but maybe try somewhere else for chicken or saute dinners.

Decided to give Lenny's a shot while on vacation at the Jersey shore based on the reviews and they did NOT meet those. They exceeded them. 4.5 star rating? They deserve a 10. Absolutely delicious. Yesterday in New York my fiance tried "The best in the city" and had to douse it in garlic salt and Parm just to eat it. I won't put which place it was on blast. Lenny's makes no such claim and they are top notch. I prefer jersey pies and they even exceeded my highest of expectations. Delivery guy was awesome as well. Keep proving you have the best pizza in the area. No need to claim you do.

Excellent service. Our waitress Gabby was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The food was good, but the marinara was a bit on the watery side, like they needed to cook it down for another hour. We'll try the pizza the next time, it seemed to be the big seller.

Good pizza, nothing above average though. Had their Hawaiian personal pizza and thought the crust was nice and thick. Usually Hawaiian is ham and pineapple but they used bacon instead and thought to give it a shot, and it definitely was not for me. Nothing wrong with it though.
Edit: Visited here in 2020 (was here 2018), and maybe due to covid they got slower. We tried the Hawaiian, and Fresca pizza for pickup and they both were delicious and timely for pickup. Then, we had an order for 6 people another day and had to wait about an hour to get our food, of which none was pizza actually. The crispy
