Candle Bay Inn

Room handle key was broken, curtains had bad stains on it, my pillow had blood stains on it and I showed it to the owner and he didn’t say anything, the whole night my body was itching, BED BUGS, no soap, no shampoo,
bed sheets had some holes in it and the bathroom curtain had black color stains on it all over, no clean towel
EVERYTHING WAS JUST REALLY DISGUSTING
NASTY, NOT CLEANED, NO HYGIENE
rating: ZERO, extremely poor service, unacceptable

Well taken care off motel, quite near Monterrey. Beds were clean, bathroom in good working condition, and shower pressure was superb. Clean, well lit room with a homely feel. Would stay here again, and recommend to a friend. Fridge available and AC works!

I booked a stay here with my mother a couple of years ago. When we arrived, we were told that someone had mysteriously "cancelled" our reservation the night before. The owner was unable to provide any information on who had cancelled and how they had cancelled, what phone number they used, etc. The owner was super rude and said we had to leave.
He pointed us to another motel across the road and said that there were openings there. At first we were thankful for his help, but the owner of the second motel told us that they had no openings, and that the owner of the candle bay inn often did this

The manager was very friendly, and the bathroom was spotless! If you’re used to high end hotels, you will not like this place, but if you’re on a budget, this is a great option.

My go to in the monterey area, not super fancy. Seeing as it's a low budget though it is good to go. I enjoy my stay and have come to feel as Candle bay inn is a part of my unconventional family. They really have a heart here and it's nice to stay somewhere and get away from the big chain cooperative vibe. Think about it and give it a chance.

The owner yelled at us disrespectfully for bringing our dog even though it says on Expedia that they allow pets. He said to “leave the dog in the car” on a hot day. Then he goes back inside and then tells us 5 minutes later that it’s okay to stay after we were going to leave. The bed was covered in stains and the floor was absolutely filthy. They don’t take care of their carpets like they should. Unless you want to deal with a rude owner and dirty room, book somewhere else.

This is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed at. There was hair in the bath tub and on the pillows. The room smelled like a homeless person and the blankets were stained and unwashed. My wife stayed up the whole night because the blanket was too disgusting to use and the smell of unwashed person was so strong it was almost gagging. If I could give it no stars I would.

Extremely dirty. Blood stains and bugs on the mattress, mold on bathroom windows and mirrors, filthy under the bed, cluttered space in a small dirty room. There was even wadded up toilet paper stuck to the ceiling in the bathroom! Absolutely disgusting, and maybe even hazardous to your health. No stars

This place was very small but really quiet. The service was great. The guy at the desk made sure I had everything I needed. He asked me multiple times if I needed anything. However the beds were very firm.
