One Staff spoiled all what the hotel and the rest of the team efforts.
Liked  · Excellent staff except one very rude none friendly check in staff made me regret booking in this hotel. The rest of the staff are the best you can have, very welcoming and responded right away. Excellent Location near the downtown. Very close to all attractions

I am very disappointed with the customer service I received regarding the reservation.
I received a phone call from Andrea around 8pm asking time of arrival. I explained to her that my husband was having car issues and he was driving from Stockton. He would most likely arrive after midnight. I asked her if there was a problem that he would be checking in late and I didn’t receive information from my confirmation e-mail that check-in stopped at a certain time. Her attitude changed and she stated she would let the night auditor know.
I received another phone call around midnight asking for time

Terrible! Pictures are fake, no sofa and no amenities. Walked into room and turned around and walked out. I asked manager for the room with sofa (as in pic) and said none if the rooms have one. They refused to give me any options, just kept over $300 for what. Don't trust there reviews, they are probably fake as well

Okay, this hotel is not perfect, but I still think they deserve 5 stars because you get good value for what you pay, and everything was in working order during our stay.
The office was a bit confusing to find because it's on the opposite side from the garage (they have both underground parking and a small upper lot). The front desk let us know that if hotel parking fills up at night (and it did), that we could park on the street until 11am. The staff checking us in quickly went over small details like that and gave us the key cards, no problems, no wait on a Saturday afternoon.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy check in and out, and parking was included. It was about a 10 minute walk down to the wharf and countless restaurants. A trolley stop was also nearby. We didn't need our car after our arrival. Some traffic noise from the road, but otherwise quiet on a crowded weekend.

This hotel is located at a great place in town. Walkable distance to the fisherman's wharf and downtown Monterey. There also are restaurants and a gas station right next door for conveniences.
We enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom has been remodeled with updated floors and tile in the shower. The only suggestion I have for improvements is to upgrade the size of the tv and bring back the alarm clock (or any kind of clock). Thank you for a pleasant experience!

The staff here was terrific last weekend and the room was nice and cozy. Bed was decent and everything was overall very clean. Unfortunately I missed the morning breakfast upon checkout, but had no complaints with the room overall.
Location is a short drive from the downtown strip with bars and shopping.

This place is fantastic. My daughter and I were looking for a decent, clean place to stay in Monterey and we came to Stevenson Hotel. Upon arriving we were greeted by Alex the front desk person. Alex was immediately the friendliest, the most accommodating and knowledgeable person that I have met at any other hotel. We are planning to make reservations for next alreaready because of the friendliness of the staff. Thank you Alex for making our visit so special.

Following the advice of another yelp reviewer who said they charged extra for kids (although this price bump up was not clear when they made the reservation), I double checked and found they were planning on charging me nearly TWICE per night compared to what it looked like they were charging me when I placed the reservation. DO NOT BOOK HERE UNLESS YOU DOUBLE CHECK THE PRICE.

Pros: staff was very kind and helpful. Bed was comfortable. Room was EXTREMELY CLEAN. Closet had a bag with an extra blanket and pillow in it. Mini fridge in room. Continental breakfast (waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastries, fruit), AMAZING SHOWER. Walking distance to peddle boats , wharf, park and many restaurants (Denny's across the street). Ice machine next to our room was very quiet.
Cons: small bath towels, on a main road where loud motorcycles roared by (not the hotels fault), and no constant fan setting for white noise (I am a poor sleeper). Walls are thin...you

The manager is unnecessarily rude and mean-spirited. I want to warn other in case they have similar experiences here.
I had booked 1-day reservation a month in advance for a wedding. On the morning of the reservation, an emergency situation prevented me from going or attending the wedding, and I called to cancel the non-refundable reservation so the hotel would at least have a chance of rebooking that room. They charged me their full amount according to the policy I was aware of. Three hours later, I called again to see I could transfer the reservation to my friend who was still going to attend

BEWARE! I booked a room with two queen beds for my husband and I and 2 kids thinking it's ok to have 4 people because it clearly states up to 4 people in the room but was charged an extra $35 per person!!!! Nowhere does it say that they charge extra if there are more than 2 people in the room (see pics below). $200/night seem high to me but I didn't mind because of the location but after getting charged extra, I ended up paying $300 for one night for a dingy old motel. If I knew this would happen, I would've just went to the hyatt or marriot and get my money's worth.

Nice motel in Monterey, close to most attractions like Cannery Row, Wharf, and restaurants in town.
Nice manager who has great restaurant recommendations to keep you away from the touristy crap.
Breakfast is not to my liking - too much carbs. Coffee is not good.
Room was good - updated and modern but walls are thin!

Small motel, but great location. 12 min walk to fisherman's wharf. Right next to Chevron, across the street from Denny's, has underground parking but is accessible on Abrego only.
They have a decent complimentary breakfast from 7-10am. It has a batter dispenser and a large and mini waffle maker. Cereal and milk, muffins, bread, boiled eggs, coffee dispensing machine, tea selections, juices.
I think our room was $130/night. But the bathroom door lock doesn't work...oh wellz

Let's get the bad part out of the way: the Stevenson is a cheaply-built concrete slab motel from the 1960's. It overlooks a Chevron Station. The walls are thin and if, like us, you stay on the second of its three stories you are likely to hear footfalls from the left and from the right, from up above and from down below.
Short of tearing the whole thing down and starting over, I'm not sure that there is much to be done about that. There may be good things to say about 1960's architecture, but not about shoebox motel rooms in a concrete slab building. Especially when
