This was our first stay here and I loved how spacious the room was. Loved the laminate flooring. We took our dog and the price to have him there was a bit excessive especially since our dog is a small dog. The location is perfect and close to downtown and the mall. Id stay there again but not if I take my dog.

Hotel was decent, few stains and lack of cleanliness when we first arrived. Stain on the seat was just one of a few. The "metal box" that the bed sits on makes a loud *pop* when you climb in the mattress. Housekeeping is only preformed every 3 days or when guests check out, so if you need more bathroom towels make sure you call and don't expect them to replenish room necessities when you're out for the day. Staff was friendly when needing to interact with them.
In layman's terms, this hotel is here to make money, not work in the business of hospitality. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay in Monterey

My car broke down in Monterey so I looked up pet friendly motels. This one was advertised at $69. I walked a half mile with my service dog and the owner was rude, wouldn't accept cash or a debit card and didn't like that I had many bags. I told him my car broke down and I need a place to stay. Then he tried to charge me $99 when it says online it's $69. He was a horrible person with zero compassion. A miserable human being. Lucky for him I work for a travel show and will make sure everyone knows NOT TO STAY HERE.

I would give his place zero star if I could. The most ridiculous hotel policy ever.
I booked a king bed room not allowing pets by accident. So I cancelled the reservation and booked the same type of room with pets allowed, which is ~$50 more per night. I thought it was fine because the pet fee was probably already included. NAH I was still charged additional pet fee.
Also, apparently their base rate is only for one person which is completely unheard of. My bf and I had to pay $10 extra per night for “additional guest fee”
When I confronted them and Expedia about the ridiculous charges they
