Very dumpy room, mold in the bathroom, tiny window that looked at a brick wall. Dark, gloomy, and dirty. The hotel itself has a bar/restaurant with a cozy fireplace off of the lobby. If you want to visit this historic spot, do what everyone else does and just patron the bar and fireplace area - it was packed. There are plenty of other (nice and clean) hotels to stay that are within walking distance of this location. If you really must stay here, don't bother booking direct and paying the higher rate, as we did. There were much cheaper options through other booking sites. We went direct hoping to

I've stayed here 4 times in the last couple years and return due to its wonderful location in Greenwich Village just a block or so from so many shopping and dining options. The hotel itself has an "old NY" feel unlike so many sterile options around town. The staff is quite helpful and the coffee bar, restaurant and cocktail bar are a delight. I would recommend that you get the larger room if you are staying for more than a couple nights or if traveling as a couple. Even the larger rooms are small, but all of them are nicely appointed and everything works efficiently. Many of the larger rooms have

Following our stay at The Marlton Hotel, I described it to a friend as the most magical stay in New York City. This boutique hotel has all the charm, coziness, and character that I had hoped for when planning and imagining our trip to NYC.
First off, it's in the perfect location. Walkable to Washington Square Park and anything in Greenwich Village.
The lobby is just lovely with a ton of cozy couches and chairs for seating. There is a fireplace one one side, and an espresso bar on the other. Each morning, they offered free coffee drinks and little pastries, yogurts, and things for breakfast

Perfect short stay hotel for downtown snobs.
The Marlton is an ideal hotel for a short stay in NYC. The location is perfect for hanging out in the Village. Everything worth doing is a short walk away. The rooms are small, but stylish and well equipped for leisure travel. And the staff is outstanding. Sayeed and Shawn at the front desk are very accommodating. I’ll be putting the Marlton in my rotation of NYC short stay hotels.

The Marlton HoteI have never met such a rude front desk manager as Eric Rosenfeld is. He was indignant and disrespectful and clearly did not care about me. I am not sure why he chose a job where people skills are needed - as he should be fired. I was staying there for over 2 weeks and you would think that he would care about me as a customer. NO WAY.
Yes the place is charming - but he kills it - RUNÂ - don't ever stop here for even one minute.

Love the charm and bohemian atmosphere at the Marlton. Hotel room was clean and the decor details had my heart. Felt like an old Parisian apartment. The lobby, bar, and restaurant offer a great selection, music is always fantastic and they offer complimentary continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and warm as well and made our stay very welcoming. It’s a little jewel in Greenwich Village. ✨

Can't say anything bad about our stay here. Rooms are a bit quant, but clean and beautiful architecture. Friendly faces and helpful staff all around. The vintage fixtures are beautiful. The restaurant has great menu and service the restaurant Manager was right on top of his staff and very attentive to diners
Being in the restaurant business for many Years I notice the small stuff. The food was delicious.

After speaking with Dino on the phone we chose this hotel over others and we were so happy with our 6 day stay here. Josh held down the restaurant and bar with ease, Landon was a pleasure in the mornings at the espresso bar and Jeffrey and the hostess were quick to be helpful. Just as the website says the rooms are cozy but clean and beautiful. The entire hotel has character and charm impossible to find at any Hilton. Felt like home by the time we were leaving thanks to the comfort and staff.

You're paying a hotel room rate to stay in what used to be an SRO and dorm room beforehand. The furnishings and en suite bath did get an upgrade, but the size is the same. The dorm room was meant for one person, the hotel room is meant for two. With the double bed in place, the doors to the bathroom, mini fridge, and even the main door into the room itself can barely open half way. On the positive side, the location is unbeatable, the restaurant is high quality, and the staff are helpful and kind.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my visit at The Marlton Hotel. Excellent service, great room and perfect location. The room was as pictured and very clean. My one comment is regarding the shower - it feels like you are being hosed down by a hydrant. Seamless check in and check out.
Will definitely be back!

What quaint hotel!
Hallways and rooms are small, but that's expected on NYC.
Our room is modern, clean and comfy.
I moved out of NYC in 2000 and this hotel has the feel of being outside of NYC. That is, until you look or the window and see the view .
Friendly and accommodating staff. There's a bar on the first floor. Really nice place! Definitely recommend it!

As the reviews stated, the room is tiny, but this was a classy historic hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Room was extremely nice and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and friendly! The complimentary breakfast was also a nice complement. This was a great stay in a great neighborhood of restaurants, and shops right out the door. Location is perfect, We will be back!

This is a quirky little hotel which has a lot of uniqueness to it. I suspect your review will vary based on the room that you book ... it seems most people who book anything under Queen or Deluxe are going to be shocked at the size. However, I do wonder why people leave reviews complaining about the size of the rooms. I literally don't know what else the hotel could do to market the rooms as being small. Everything they post and even the tagline 'Small rooms, big ideas' would point to this fact.
I am 6'4 and weigh 230 lbs. So, I was a bit scared that I was going to book and

Was just looking for a place to drink.
Walking through this area, while other bars are soo crowded (it's fri-night, and Valentine's day), saw this hotel and they have bar&restaurant. I thought it will be empty, to my surprise it's packed.
They have bar area, lounge, and dining area.
Good service, nice ambience, good drinks.
A good place to hang out

Hey the free WiFi is to die for. Rooms are very small for the cost. The front desk are charming depending the time of day. Evening hours they literally have an attitude like you owe them. Where's the hospitality. Act as if become as if.

I truly love this West 8th Street block. It has so much to offer in terms of restaurants/bars, including the lovely Marlton Hotel. No, I was not a guest--but I spent time in their very cozy lobby after dinner at Margaux.
This boutique hotel was not only quaint, but the interior (various rooms) set the perfect mood to chill with friends and/or to consider it as a date spot.
Unlike some other hotel lobbies, this one was definitely unpretentious.
I brought my Rose wine to the lobby area after dinner to savor the rest of it.
I'm keeping Marlton Hotel on my return list.

Met up with a friend here a few months ago...
I have started to get into hotel bars in the last few years because A: I am great with one or two drinks so the price point doesn't really matter B: Great people watching C: The staff is usually not pretentious at all D: Most customers are not working at being cool
So yeah the bar here was relaxed and fine and was good people watching. All I could want and expect. Would I come back? Yeah I would have no problem at all with that.

Ok. I read a bunch if the reviews. It's less than $300 for a well appointed albeit small room in a hotel with great character.
First, great location, great ambience and, yes, the rooms are small but the petite queen suite had a large closet where could stash our bag and clothes. Bathroom doesn't have a bath tub but the rain shower was great.
The only bad thing?
Bar service was odd. We ordered espressos / coffees throughout our stay and it became clear, regardless of who or where we ordered from there was confusion. I'm in the industry, my guess is they're spreading out the

Absolute perfection from start to finish. Our reservation support was spotless. There was one mis communication but the manager resolved it efficiently. The price is in par with other hotels. We paid 370 ish plus tax. Continental breakfast was included and was WONDERFUL. The house made granola was perfect. Mom loved her oatmeal. They serve a lovely Genmai Cha Tea. The toast, ah, the toast. Oh, and our Vincentian server was wonderful. He catered to all of my 95 year young grammy's needs.
Our room was small but it worked. The furnishings and amenities are high end. We loved the apothecaries

I spent two nights at The Marlton Hotel in January right after New Year's. I loved it! Every staff member I interacted with was super friendly from the front desk, to the coffee shop, to the lady cleaning the rooms. It's super cute! Please see photos. The location is awesome. It's in Greenwich Village. Even though it's winter the village, Soho, Nolita, Chinatown, Little Italy, Chelsea, etc are all walkable. Also, very close proximity to several Subway lines. It's like a two minute walk from Washington Square Park. Lots of restaurants and amenities on the same block as
