Morningside Day Out
Located at the corner of Lavista and Briarcliff (near the former Whole Foods), MDO is convenient to all of Atlanta's Intown neighborhoods. For information about our classes, see the Program Overview. As a not-for-profit preschool, MDO is operated by a Board of Directors, composed of the school's Executive Director and a selection of parent volunteers.

The following is the Board for the 2021-2022 school year. Morningside Day Out (MDO) admits students of any race, color, or national and ethnic origin. MDO does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, or national and ethnic origin in the employment of faculty and administrative staff and in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs.
Services
We are committed to the philosophy that children learn best through play and discovery. Our program is rich in music, art, creative expression, gardening, and a variety of sensory experiences. Enrichment is woven into each day, creating the fabric of the school week.

In addition, the learning experience is enhanced by our weekly music class and yoga class along with special visits from storytellers, performers, and community helpers at no extra cost.Children who attend MDO, but do not come on the day a special visit is scheduled, are invited to attend with a parent or caregiver.
MDO is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) organization. In addition to our tuition and fees, we rely on fundraising and grants to fund special activities and curriculum enrichment (storytellers, musicians, petting zoos, puppeteers, etc.). There are many ways you can support MDO as an individual or a business!
May attend 1 or 2 days per week; parents may choose any combination of days, provided space is available. The beginning of wonderful preschool memories starts in our baby class (the "Sweet Peas"). Our babies are cared for by friendly, enthusiastic, and responsive teachers in a calm, soothing, happy environment.
As children begin to walk and talk, their curiosity drives them to explore. Our one year old program (the "Sparkles" and "Sprouts" classes) encourages children's developing independence by helping them hone self-help skills, such as the ability to feed themselves, relate to others, and make choices.
In our two year old classes (the "Ladybugs", "Bumblebees" and "Caterpillars"), we recognize that children at this age have moved on to a more advanced stage of development. They have learned how to walk well, are more physically enabled, and are beginning to communicate using single words. They have also started to "parallel play" with other children and have entered the exploring stages of childhood.

I absolutely love it here. Everyone is so sweet and down to earth. My daughter is 10 months and started at 6 months old. It's super affordable too which is very helpful.

I am so happy to have found this amazing little school for my twins, we are currently enrolled for our second year and my kids are constantly coming home "teaching" me what they learned each day from Spanish to shapes to how volcanoes work! My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with the teachers and staff at MDO.

We've had a wonderful five years at MDO with our first child, and look forward to several more with our second. The community is extremely supportive and friendly, and the teachers are warm and VERY good at their jobs. Our kids come home happy, they are learning their letters, numbers, how to express themselves and interact with friends, and in my son's pre-k class, they are even learning how to read and write. The tuition is highly competitive and the teachers are way more experienced than at other schools I've looked at. I love how a focus on art, science, and culture is integrated into everyday

My daughter is attending her 3rd year at Morningside Day Out and has thrived. She has had amazing teachers from the start. I spent a long time searching for the perfect preschool and I am thrilled with our decision. My daughter absolutely loves it and comes home excited to talk about everything she has learned that day. I highly recommend Morningside Day Out!

Both my children go here and I have had the privilege of watching them grow with a range of great teachers. We have had a lot of choices in the neighborhood but this seemed the most diverse and has a wonderful playground. My kids love it here and I highly recommend this school.

My two children have attended Morningside Day Out Preschool for the past three years, and we all love it! If you are looking for a parents' morning out and preschool program with a relaxed and nurturing environment, I highly recommend this school. The school offers a 4 hour program (9 am-1 pm), and offers Music, Spanish, Creative Movement, Science, and Art as part of the curriculum
We just love everything about this school. My children have made wonderful friendships, learned so much, and have grown creatively. It is really a community based school, so it has been great getting to know the other
