N to Tail is a Korean fusion restaurant located in the heart of Portland Maine. Featuring family style Korean Barbecue downstairs, Korean fine dining upstairs, and bars located on both levels. Korean BBQ is a fun interactive way to experience Korean Cuisine. On the Korean BBQ level, there is a raw kitchen which provides a wide variety of marinated meat and vegetables.
They are then brought to your table raw where your server will teach you the Korean BBQ grilling process. Each table has a grill built into the center to cook your selections on. The best part? Your food never comes out cold since you can eat right off the grill! You always order for the table never for yourself.

F***ing loved it.
Welcoming, warm, beautiful spot that has a ton of space- can't wait to visit them in summer.
Downstairs is BBQ, upstairs is a more mixed menu-- love it.
As a veg, I know my comments are kinda whatever but the fried egg on fried rice here was AMAZING. So flavorful.
The spicy cucumber salad was also amazing.
Great mixed drinks, great service, great everything.
Can't wait to come back.

I am an at home parent, so it seems Kate is getting around to these before I am more and more lately...gotta work on that...
Again, we agree for the most part. The outdoor seating/dining is a pandemic creation and as it goes, a fine solution. Obviously Old Port has a limit on parking and using streets for seating creates other issues, so locals know the weird/special problems/issues/headaches involved.
As for the food itself, I can not fault the table service menu. If you are an adventure eater, like my wife certainly is, this will serve you well. It covers all the seafood and Korean highlights

I went with a group of friends and family as the only vegetarian (not willingly) and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food I was able to eat while my meat eating friends and family enjoyed a ton of fabulous food as well. The food was seasoned very well, and the novelty of cooking your own meat and veggies on the grill in the table was enjoyable. The prices are a bit higher than in used to to eat out, but the place was clean, we had fun, and I raved about the food for days. I would go again.

Delicious food, fun atmosphere, excellent service! I am so happy we made reservations for the bbq grill. Not a typical Korean bbq experience, but that’s okay because it was delicious af. We ordered 3 types of high quality beef that only needed to be slightly seared… what succulent cuts of meat!! The kimchi, bean sprout salad, fried chicken, and cucumber salad were excellent additions to our meal. Our server was attentive and my hot sake never ran dry. We will definitely be back!!

One of the best meals I've had in a VERY long time! We were thrilled with everything. To start the disgruntled pelican cocktail was tart perfection! As a lover of gin, this was heaven. In fact I had two of them! Everything was flavorful with a goood spice but not too much heat ( bc I am a wimp.) The fried chicken bao were terrific. The tempura salmon were nice. The lobster bao were good but didn't beat the chicken. The fried asparagus were excellent. My friends loved the bibim bap! And my other guy friend is obsessed with the seafood Ren and gets in every time. I wish I lived

Best Korean chicken bao buns ever! No kidding. We ate most of the tofu and fried eggplant before I took the picture but it was great. Lots of veggie options. They also have real Korean barbecue downstairs stations Wed evenings. Can for reservations for that and bring some $$. Great place, great food, don't miss out when in Portland.

I've been to N to Tail a few times and I STILL have things on the menu I am excited to try! The bulgogi is amazing, the fried chicken is fantastic, and the tofu is out of this world! The cocktails are always yummy and the see did is ON POINT. If you can get seated in Christian's section. He is wonderful and will really make sure you enjoy your meal!

We've been I think four times, twice for barbecue and twice for I don't know, non-barbecue. It'd be nice if they did barbecue outside but I guess logistically it would be difficult? The outdoor seating is very nice, though.
The barbecue was excellent, we really enjoyed it. Actually though, I think I enjoyed my experiences with the rest of the menu more as it was more varied.
I would highly recommend the korean fried chicken which is SUPER crispy, the jajangmyeon (though, get ready for a very, very savory sauce), the grilled mackerel (glorious), and the seafood ramen.

This was a fantastic find. We love Korean barbecue and this is perhaps the best you could find in Maine.
Also my wife hates aubergines and she actually liked the aubergine starter served here.
Loved the fried Korean chicken!
Polite staff. Busy place with a great vibe.
Not bad at all for a Saturday evening.
We didn't try any alcohol on this particular dinner though.
Fairly priced - expect to spend 30-40$ per head.

A wonderful experience, especially for first-time goers! We ordered the BBQ “Date Night,” which easily fed my partner and me. The rib-eye was some of the best we had, and the sides added so much depth to the meal. The mean includes Kimchi, bean sprout salad, rice, potatoes, and much more to create a wrap as you finish cooking. Definitely worth the price!

My boyfriend and I were on the hunt for a dinner place in Portland. Luckily, we walked by and smelled the food coming from N to Tail. I grew up in the area and knew it has a slightly overpriced Japanese restaurant called Fuji, and we had been to N to Tail before but we were not impressed. This time everything exceeded our expectations: the staff, food, and overall feeling of the restaurant were great. There are a lot of small plates, some larger plates and some entrees to choose from. Based on everything we got you couldn't go wrong with anything you decided to order. The drink menu was a good

I came here on a Friday night with my fiancé and we were happy to have made a reservation. It was definitely busy and I could easily see why once we started our meal. The food options are fun and interesting, and all made with what seems like care and quality. Our waiter was so friendly and definitely had great recommendations on sake if you need them! I'd personally recommend the brussel sprouts and bok choy. They were delicious but also you received a decent amount for the price. It was a good atmosphere, fun and had nice seating to watch folks walking down the road. Definitely recommend

I moved from NJ where I was spoiled rotten with authentic Korean food. Craving bossam and jajangmyeon and boy did they deliver! Only negative is that Kim chi side wasn't included. Pork belly ssam was tender and juicy with good flavor. Jajangmyeon with pork belly topping was a very nice and delicious surprise. Now, if I can just find Tteokbokki, Tangsuyuk, and Dakgangjeong.

We're first timers in Portland. This was our first meal in town and it did not disappoint. Like everything else, the experience is different during the pandemic. It blows my mind when people review places as if everything is normal right now. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The fried chicken appetizer was the highlight. The sauce is amazing. Also I've never had eggplant cooked so expertly - fried perfectly on the outside and soft on the inside. The poke bowl was so flavorful and fresh and the bibimbap came out piping hot and make the rice perfectly crispy. Also, the house
