Origins is a full-service beauty salon located near downtown Reno, Nevada in the colorful California Avenue Arts District. Origins offers hair, nail and skin care services for men and women. Origin's owner and senior stylist, Amy Belaustegui (say "bella STAY ghee"), has one goal for the salon: to be a fun, welcoming, stylish place where everyone feels comfortable.

Saw this place while at 10Torr and decided to check it out. So glad I did, Amy is wonderful. I don't know how she did it but she managed to somehow cut my hair but it ended up making it look longer! Which was amazing because I didn't want to lose any length but had to trim the dead ends off. The color is great, and she did an awesome job. My husband loves it and I can't remember my Yelp password so this review is from both of us! Very happy customers and I will be back for sure!

I thought I'm the only with that experience. Now it confirms that this salon needs good professional etiquette..
I made my first appointment with Amy for a haircut , color and highlight . You would think she will WOW new client with promptness and enthusiasm, right? WRONG!!... She replied to me after 3 text messages and numbers of calls to her cellphone and landline. (But i am a very patient person by nature , so no big deal) iFinally she texted me back telling me someone cancelled and can take me in ( oh wow thank you!!!). She

*Long story short- Amy cut me off and hung up with me on the phone when I tried calling to cancel my appointment.
I tried calling the store multiple times with every call going to voicemail, so I made an appointment through their website 3 WEEKS ago, and expected to hear a confirmation within a few days. The confirmation came a whole week and a half later after I had decided to book an appointment with Salon Platinum.
I tried calling the salon again to cancel the appointment that I never thought went through and left a brief voicemail. A few minutes later I get a call from a different number

I go to Michele Anderson for facials and waxing. She is absolutely amazing. My skin has never looked better and she always recommends the best products. I am always able to get an appointment and have recommended her to my friends and family. Her prices are very reasonable. The salon is warm and welcoming.

I've been to a lot of big-city salons that have a get-you-in, get-you-cut, get-you-out mentality. Origins is not like that. Amy and her team take the time, as they say, to "find the style within you," which means asking lots of questions and discussing options for your face shape, tastes, and lifestyle. I recently neeed to update my look, and Amy not only nailed it the first time, but also recommended a particular product and styling tips to keep it looking great. I've had lots of compliments and feel like it even makes me look a bit younger, which is OK by me! Great location

I had the BEST experience at Origins. I really have a hard time trusting hair dressers on my hair but I'm so glad that I picked this place! At first I was intimitated by the location (Arlinton and California) but they made me feel so welcome. I was having such a horrible day but then I met Amy who made me feel like I'm at home. Not only did she do a great job on my hair I was was inpressed on the prices. WOW. The staff is fantasic. And I can't wait to go back again. They are far beyond any other salon in Reno

I got in on short notice with the owner, Amy. She was very personable and professional and I was very comfortable in the salon. I have short hair and usually I do get cute cuts in SF where I live, but I wanted to try Origins while visiting Nevada. Amy's cut not only looked incredible, but also grew out very well over the next 7 weeks. I got unsolicited compliments from other hair stylists/salon owners after 4 weeks on 'how many looks I have' with the cut. Anyway, thank you Amy! I am definitely coming back.
