In 2020 Mood Hair Studio was created with the intention to cultivate a space for clients and stylists alike to feel comfortable, valued, and inspired. As a guest myself at many salons I can attest to having left a salon feeling underwhelmed by both the salon vibe and/or value of my service.

Bright and blonde, lived in color or a transformative color change - we can help you achieve gorgeous color that you will leave obsessed with!
All of the stylists at Mood are experienced, highly educated and extremely talented. Our stylists specialize in specific services, such as Keratin treatments and hair extensions, and vary in prices. I love Mood! Shannon has been my stylist since I moved to Reno 6 years ago. I am impressed by her flexibility, skill and great conversation. She listens and makes suggestions that fit me. The salon has a variety of patrons - all styles and ages. I always walk out with a smile and receive compliments about my hair all the time!

I moved here from out of state in early December, and I was in dire need of a cut. I met Shannon for the first time, and she carefully listened to what I asked for and she did a great cut! The salon follows guidelines for COVID protection, and I felt very safe. I am glad a friend referred me to Shannon and Mood Hair Studio!

Amy Nguyen is a hair God! I have been getting my hair done with her ever since she was at Pearle Studios. In the beginning, when I had long hair, I went to Amy in hope of getting the V-shaped cut and she did not disappoint me like others did. From then on, we did all sort of colors and cuts. I rarely get my hair done now, maybe once or twice a year so I love that her balayages/ombres are always so well-blended that they still look good after many months.

I never thought I could be in love with my hair again! If you want to love your hair more than when you were a teenager go to Melanie!! She has transformed my head for the better! I have been seeing her for my hair needs for almost 2 years now. She lifted my hair from dark brown and pink to a beautiful icy platinum blonde in a very reasonable timeframe for the health of my hair. She gives gorgeous designer haircuts and I can show her a picture and get exactly what I ask for as the outcome for a haircut every time. She cuts my hair every six weeks so I am fully confident in her cutting skills even

I've been coming to Amy for years and she truly is the QUEEN of color! Anything you can imagine she can do it! I first came to her when I had pretty much orange hair and she was able to create such an amazing blonde out of it that was just magical and I've been hooked ever since.
What I also love is that she never goes overboard on trims. I've had a fear of getting haircuts ever since I was little due to hairdressers cutting off multiple inches when I wanted just an inch or two. Amy always layers my hair perfectly and makes sure never to cut too much off. My hair is always left

I've been going to this salon for over a year and have no plan to go anywhere else! I consistently get compliments on my hair, even when i'm due for my next touch up. The cuts and color are extreme quality.
Shannon is always honest when I ask her for hair care and style advice. She genuinely cares about the integrity and health of my locks. The salon is clean and comfortable and all the stylists seem down to earth and friendly. And! They always offer you something to drink: water, tea, coffee, even wine!

This was the first studio I went to when I moved to Reno and I've been going there ever since. When I run new ideas by Shannon, she listens and recommends the best path with minimal damage to my hair. She's also always honest with me about my expectations which is appreciated. Amy is AMAZING. She is a color queen! She fixed my messed up (obviously someone elses handiwork) ombre to blonde hair and did a beautiful job! She is very knowledgeable, professional and on trend. Also this salon is gorgeous, so open and bright, great layout. I love the way she curls my hair at the end too! I am so grateful to have her as my hair angel. She really is a true hair artist.

I'm diving in and letting my natural silver grow out. Since I have been dying my hair since I was a teenager, I have no idea what 'natural' is. I looked for someone with a proven history of color expertise and style and I AM SO PLEASED to have Shannon taking control of this process. I did not want to just let my hair grow out on its own because I work with the public and I did not want the unkempt look of brunette/silver roots on red hair to distract.
She's making every step of the process look GOOD and I have full trust in Shannon.

My past has been littered with bad perms, ridiculous cuts, stylists who don't listen or who give me the same haircut after I've mustered up the courage to proclaim that I'm ready for a change. Those bad experiences were the collective driving force behind my aversion to salons & often left me in front of a bathroom mirror, cutting my own hair...and not well. *hangs head in shame*

I have fine, curly/wavy hair and it was a little damaged due to some nutrition issues after radiation--and it can look pretty awful when handled badly. I'm so glad to say that wasn't the case with Natalie at Crush. She's a phenomenal colorist and a great cutter/stylist, too. She recommended some options for a versatile cut (air dry days or style days) and I'm really happy.
I waited to write my review until after my second visit, just to make sure, but I think I like her even more now. My hair really looks better than it has in many years. I'm really happy with my color

I have never had non-natural hair color before and decided I really wanted lavender/purple hair. I chose this salon based on the reviews and no wonder they have a high rating! I was able to book with Alia, who was knowledgeable, charming, genuine and talented. Going from medium brown to the shade of purple I wanted was a long process but very well worth it, and I 100% believe she made the experience that much better.
