My husband and I ordered takeout on our first night of vacation. We drove from Penn Yan and found street parking easily to pick up our order. We ordered a Black Dragon Roll, seaweed salad, Lobster Fantastic Roll, striped bass sushi, Boston Roll, Sweet Potato Tempura Roll, and Out of Control Roll (no Mayo). We waited about 30 min from when we placed the order until it was ready. We waited in the restaurant and they apologized we had to wait and even threw in a free order of pork gyoza! Standouts include seaweed salad (multiple kinds of seaweed and cucumber) and Lobster Fantastic Roll. The

Did take-out of tuna avocado salad and salmon mango salad. Ordered both with sauces only on the side.
The raw fish in both dishes was fresh and good quality.
Both salads were creative and had lots of different ingredients. Both had a slice of radish and some sprouts with a kick. The salmon mango salad included seaweed salad and cucumber. The tuna avocado salad had very interesting field greens.
The portion size was smaller than I expected, but we're in upstate NY and I live in Bergen County NJ where sushi is much more plentiful and easier to get.

Continuing on our adventure to try all the sushi restaurants between Rochester and Syracuse, Ichiro was quite disappointing. We came here on a Wednesday and there weren't too many people in the restaurant, maybe three or four tables total including us. For some reason, they had two servers but it seemed like only one was working the floor and the other stayed behind the bar the whole time. It took quite awhile for us to get our drink orders in and then even longer to get our food orders taken. The waiter seemed to disappear in the back throughout the whole meal and was rarely seen on the floor

Ordered the mango sushi roll and spicy scallop handroll. Small but good. Only 2 servers, 1 sushi chef, 1 hibachi chef for the entire restaurant. Tofu app took 30 minutes, sushi rolls took 40 minutes, check took 10 minutes and they never brought the miso soup. Server was nice but restaurant needs to have more than 2 servers for a full restaurant.

We were the first ones seated in the whole restaurant, were ignored for 15 minutes, then waited AN HOUR AND A HALF for our food. Everyone else was served first and LEFT. If I were the owner I would have apologized, comped every meal, and given free dessert. They did nothing. Unacceptable. If I would have been there with children I would have left.

We’ve been to so many Japanese & Sushi restaurants in Rochester but this place is By far the BEST PLACE. Their flavors were Wonderful their portion size was big and their dessert was Ultimate because it was not very sweet ( THANK GOD -No death by Sugar ). We had the Teriyaki Salmon bento box,Super Rock-n-Roll sushi roll- Both were heavenly, super delicious. The Bento box also had Tempura Shrimp&Veggies and the Salmon was laid out on a bed of mixed vegetables so a Big portion of entree. Their California roll that was included in the Bento box was also really outstanding. We had Sake too which

It's sadly been a couple years since my last visit, but what an amazing return. While I'm disappointed to hear the chef that took care of me last time is no longer with the restaurant. I can confidently say, the current chef/owner offers his own great skills and expertise in sushi-making.
We headed in around 4:00pm, and were immediately seated. I would have loved to sit at the sushi bar like my last visit, but understandably due to the COVID, bar-seating is temporarily unavailable.

Been here a dozen or so times over the past five years (would go more frequently but we live in MI so we stop in while visiting in-laws).
Most of the family gets the hibachi - which is quite entertaining and they all say their food is good. I gotta take their word for it as I must order sushi.
A good variety of basic and special rolls. I love sashimi and have never been disappointed by the quality of the fish. I enjoy sitting at the sushi bar as the lead sushi chef will make a little special item for you - not dig something out of the cooler but make some delectable bite or two of something

Every time we go, we have an amazing experience. We usually sit at the sushi bar, and have always been treated to a gift from the chef that has never dissapointed. The staff is incredibly courteous and attentive. The presentation of our sushi is always a delight as well.
