Our proud history begins in the small town of Yaguajay, Cuba, where Pepe Diaz was born. As a young man, Pepe began cooking to avoid working in the fields. It was in those early teenage years that he found his passion for food. He set out to begin his career in Spain, working in popular "Meson" restaurants and refining his skills.
We take great pride in serving delicious Cuban cuisine, in a comfortable and safe environment. This will never change. That's why moving forward, we will be following all CDC regulations, as well as implementing our own additional health and safety measures, ensuring we continue to provide the highest quality of service to our guests.

Finding a venue for your private party in Key West can be a challenge, especially if you need to entertain a large group. Many of the restaurants on the island are small with limited outdoor space. That is certainly not the case with El Meson de Pepe. We can accommodate smaller parties as well as large events for up to 300 guests.

My family and I had walked past this place for years going to Mallory, didn't realize how good it was! They were able to seat our table of six immediately, and our service was very fast and efficient the whole time we were there. Really neat atmosphere too, other than the prices, everything about this restaurant reminded us of some of our favorite dining in Mexico.
Plantain nachos were pretty interesting, never seen that before. White bean soup was good but meaty. That would be my only negative comment is that I didn't really see a lot of vegetarian options. Frid fish entrees and everything else

The service we got from our waiter Augusto made the experience even more memorable as his attention to details and help with selection was impecable! Great restaurant for authentic Cuban culinary and cultural experience in Key West. The vibe and the ambiance of this restaurant is very Cuban, the staff are friendly and nice. The menu is extensive, lots of options to choose from. We had several Tapas for starters and grilled red snapper with creole sauce, black bean, plantain and yellow rice for main, it was delicious. For dessert we tried the Key lime pie, which definitely was one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant for good food and experience.

This is such an authentic Cuban restaurant in Keywest. The restaurant is big and there are plenty of seating available inside and in patio. They even play live Latino music after sunset.
Being a Cuban place we had to try the Cuban Café Con Leche, tostones. Fried plantains came with all entrée dishes. Hold off to chicken wings, try croqueta or other apps. We got Cuban shaved steak, Mahi Mahi baked fish. Bot of those dishes were 😋😋
There will be plenty of roosters roaming around coo-coo-ing and on the trees behind.
