Rented from CRI for 5 years. During that time we made one maintenance call over severe electrical issues and a non working oven. They blamed us for the issues, didn’t fix the oven, and only took the electrical issues seriously after duke power came out and affirmed what we were telling them. After that one and only maintenance call they put us month to month in a way that felt like an intimidation tactic. After we moved out and provided a current address they sent our security deposit denial to the former rental and we were never able to appeal.

Like everything in life - there's good and there's bad.
We rented the house 'long distance' and the process was flawless.
CRI were very responsive to any concern, came regularly to take care of the lawn, and were also considerate of our request regarding the time of day they arrive for lawn work.
Be sure to document (with pictures) all and any imperfections in the house, including things which might seem minor such as unsmooth surfaces, paint discolorations, small cracks, dents, scratches, nicks and cuts.
We rented for 18 months and never late on a payment (one time we had a 'warning' because

Hands down, Carolina Realty & Investing Group is the best in the industry here in the Carolina's. I've been working with Ann Cabaniss and CRI for 10 years now, having bought and sold 2 homes with Ann during that time and having just purchased a 3rd last month. I put in a work order and the next day they showed up unannounced, banged on the door for almost 10 mins while my gf was in the shower, woke our baby up, and started walking around the house taking pictures of stuff. They made her feel very uncomfortable. Beware of an invasion of privacy if you ever put in a work order. Very rude and unprofessional.
You will never get your deposit back. Once we moved they sent us the bill and had charges that were completely an over exaggeration or that were false. Thankfully I took pictures of the whole house before I left. Also, they emailed us out of nowhere

I moved to the Charlotte area to start a new job and met Ann Cabaniss to view the property before it was ready to go on the market. There was some issues that needed to be addressed but we were assured that they would be taken care of before our move in date, however they were not and we had to deep clean the entire place. I called CRI and talked to Chris Cabaniss who was very hostile about the whole incident. His resolution was to take 75 dollars off the rent after arguing for an hour. After moving in we discovered multiple issues with the house culminating with mold in the kitchen cabinets. This

I would highly discourage anyone from using CRI unless you want to waste your time and money. I applied to rent a house that was well within my means (Also the first applicant for this house) and was denied with no explanation. I’ve tried contacting their office for 3 straight days without a single answer. I recently separated from the military with good credit and no outstanding debt. So I’m not sure what their ideal applicant is. The reason for this review isn’t because I was denied, it’s for their poor customer service.
