We came for restaurant week and left thoroughly satisfied with the quality as well as the value for the price! I had the lobster bisque for appetizer which had the right amount of creaminess and flavor. For the main course I had the lobster ravioli which was absolutely bursting with flavor. Finally had to end it with the chocolate cake which was super light and the chocolate ganache on top was just the right amount of smooth texture with the cake.

Nice atmosphere, unobtrusive wait staff. I had the Pistachio Chicken entrée. it was bland and not to my taste. Server noticed I had not eaten much, and offered me a different entrée in a to go box. The replacement meal was fried chicken with mashed potatoes and carrots. Excellent! Get the fried chicken dinner! (I was not charged for the fried chicken replacement.)

I have enjoyed take out from Hamrocks a few times but this was my first time dining inside. The charm of the historic house makes for an intimate and fun dining experience. And the food was excellent as it always is too! Hamrocks is the best place to go in Fairfax for a nice dinner so if you have a special occasion coming up or just want a really good dinner, head to Hamrocks.

I really enjoyed my gluten free meal at Hamrocks. It’s not every day I find a gluten free crab/shrimp cake. The meal was not heavy, and portioned just right. It was a little more expensive but understandable for the quality.
The outdoor seating was also plentiful and they had outdoor heaters.
I would definitely visit again.

The food was good but nothing special special. the biggest reason i’m giving a 3 star rating is because the crab cake sandwich was more bread than crab cake. though the waiter did mention there would be shrimp in it. it was more of a shrimp cake with a bit of crab. fried could have been crispier, they were a little soggy. my friend had the pasta and replaced the protein with vegetables. again, it was alright but nothing mind blowing.

I think the concept of this place was great originally. Maybe the seafood was really good (I had the steak), but the actual food itself isn't worth the price. I've had better steaks from Outback or any other chain. I liked the atmosphere and the staff was friendly, but when you have a poorly cooked meal with bland sides. I'd rather go to a chain, save some money, and buy my own wine

This was our first time at Hamrock’s. The food was delicious. We had a reservation and were immediately seated outdoors on the back patio. Our greeter provided menus and immediately brought water to our table.… Right behind her was our waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered nice suggestions, including which wine to pair with our meal. There was very little wait for the appetizers, and then the main course, to arrive. All in all it was a really nice, relaxing and enjoyable experience. We’ll be back. 👍👍👍
