Eline Funeral Home
Prior to 1863 our family's connection to the funeral industry was through carpentry. Our founder E.D. Selby was originally a carpenter specializing in creating cabinets, furniture and occasionally coffins. As the Reisterstown community grew, so did the responsibilities of the undertaker. Mr. Selby would soon be too busy to continue as a carpenter.

With the Civil War and the dawn of the Battle of Gettysburg, the community found the need for someone to help with the transportation and disposition of its fallen soldiers. This was the beginning of the professional funeral director. Six generations and over 155 years later, Eline Funeral Home is still serving our local community.
Services
We were the first funeral home in Carroll County to offer an on-premises crematory. Carroll Cremations, Inc. has operated for more than 35 years at our Hampstead location. We follow a strict 10 step identification process to ensure our families peace of mind. Offering our own on-site private crematory, insures that your loved one never leaves our care.
Today my family and I wish to express our sincere gratitude to you and your staff for the warm efficient way in which you handled our dear ones services. This was a very difficult time for us, but you made it easy and problem free as any one possibly could. Each and every employee was as warm and sympathetic and made it a service that we were proud of.
When it comes time to care for a deceased loved one, you may feel overwhelmed and confused about the next steps and options. Our funeral home staff members are here and ready to help. Whether you'd like a funeral or a more creative celebration of life, we can assist you to select the funeral service options that hold the most meaning for you and your family.
Obituaries act as quiet reminders of the finite nature of our lives. Yet, for those who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend, an obituary means so much more. It is a bittersweet reminder of all we've lost, but it can also help us to remember all we enjoyed while they were alive.
G. K. Chesterton wrote, Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die. The men and women who served in the armed forces, whether during a time of war, or one of peace, are living examples of that contradiction. Each should be honored and remembered, so that our gratitude never fades.
