The original Harry H. Witzke Funeral Home was founded in 1912 in Baltimore. One location was at Hollins and Gilmor Streets, and another was at 4101 Edmondson Avenue. Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home moved to Howard County in 1965 to its present location to serve all areas. The funeral home is owned and managed by Sherri Collins-Witzke, CFSP, CPC, CCSP, and her daughter, Samantha Logan, CCSP.

Our fee for the services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service; arrangement conference with family or responsible party; arrangement of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notices; staff assistance prior to, during and following the funeral, including coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral, e.g.

Please feel free to contact any of our staff members at any time. Sherri Collins-Witzke resides in Howard County with her husband, Gus. Sherri moved to the area in 1969.
Our facilities are handicapped accessible, all on one level, and include a reception room, a coffee room, three visitation rooms, a sitting room, a flower receiving room, and a casket selection room. We can accommodate traditional funeral or memorial services for up to 120 people. Whether your choice is a private family viewing or a public visitation we will assist you in making it a personal, comforting experience.
When you make prearrangements, before a death has occurred, it allows you to think more clearly, and you are not rushed to make any final decisions. It will assist your family in knowing what your wishes are and how you prefer your final arrangements to take shape. Preplanning avoids having to make decisions when your family is grieving the loss of a loved one.

When my husband passed on in 2020, I thought of no other funeral service than Harry Witzke. My family had known them for 40+ yrs. Attended many services there. Awesome in such a stressful time of need in ones life.
Unfortunately, and I mean unfortunately, the experience for my husband was horrific. So much so, that it haunts me to this day. My husband did not have a proper viewing and burial. The initial arrangements were fine; however, that was all that went well. There were various employees assisting us with viewing and burial. A uncompassionate one with the viewing. Apparently a new employee

I was quite impressed with everyone there. They were extremely kind and patient. The result was a very beautiful service for a dear Aunt of mine. In addition they sent all unclaimed flowers to my mother’s nursing home as she was unable to attend. My mother was so touched.

i walked into Witzke funeral home,the daughter of Harry Witzke handled the arrangements beautifully.
Her father handled the arrangements for my grandparents.
I was clearly absolutely devastated and, was handled in a manner that made me feel like she really understood.
I don't know how they do it. However, we had lines going through Witzke to view my son and backed up traffic.
Everyone was greeted .My son was treated dignity and respect.Death is part of life and my family will continue to use Harry Witzke's funeral home services.

We've had several family funerals here over the years and the Harry Witzke's staff has always done a beautiful job. The staff is very sensitive to grieving families and does not make you feel taken advantage of as I have experienced at other funeral homes. They are compassionate, friendly, and make the whole experience as stress free as possible.

The caring and personalized attention here is unparalleled, and much appreciated by the grieving. The recent funeral of a beloved relative was attended to by the caring staff with meticulous detail and compassionate style, from the presentation for the viewing to the carefully orchestrated details of the interment at the cemetery. Although a death of a loved one is always hard, the staff of Witzke's funeral home make it as bearable as possible. They treated our family as almost members of their own, with the love and attention family members give to each other.
