The location spans 1,700 square feet, seats 50 inside and 20 people on the patio and will feature a California - Italian menu. We are thrilled to be opening our doors and look forward to serving this community. We have a custom pizza oven and will be making custom Neapolitan style pizzas. Diners should come hungry and ready to enjoy freshly made pasta, meatballs, steak, grilled octopus and salads, all of which feature seasonal ingredients.
We also have a wide selection of wine, beer and espresso drinks, said Greg Poulios, Creekwood's owner. Poulios and Mark Louie, who have known each other from pre-school, spent years looking for the right location to open Creekwood before coming across the former bike shop, which was built in 1977. The location needed work, from removing and rebuilding the walls and floor, to pouring new foundation and installing new electrical and gas.

Very busy restaurant in Berkeley, which I was not expecting much from but I am pleasantly surprised with how great the restaurant is. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly. There was a wide variety of options to choose from like a fried chicken sandwich, pizza, mussels, to a beet salad.
I ordered the brussel sprouts, meatballs (not pictured), mussels, and pesto gnocchi. Overall the meal was good but I was not wow’d by the food. I will say the gnocchi was very tasty and the pesto was flavorful so I would rate that a 5/5. Otherwise my rating is as follows:
- food 3/5
- atmosphere 5

The service here was great! The lighting & candle lit center pieces on each table really added to the ambience of this restaurant. It looked cozy. Outdoor seating & indoor seating is available but due to the size of the restaurant, I wouldn't suggest to bring large parties of more than 10 here.
The host sat us, & offered us to taste beer, & wine prior to ordering. They took care of us, & the quality of the food was very good. I had the ribeye 16oz, & my goodness it was tender & flavorful. I had it done medium rare.
I'm definitely returning.

We've been here twice, once for brunch and once for pizza.
Brunch: was 4/5, food was delicious and service was good, but brussel sprouts were a bit wet and no so crispy.
Pizza: this is where the problem lies for me, and unfortunately I may be a hard critic to please as I thoroughly try Neapolitan pizzas around the world. This one here is a flop. I would say mostly because the pizzas are overcooked and the dough is flat and hard. My benchmark is to order a margherita pie: here the sauce didn't taste of fresh tomatoes enough, the dough didn't rise and wasn't "juicy". The dough probably should be

Wow if I could give this place 100 stars I would. We decided on Creekwood for a little fun date night after finding it on Yelp's Top 100 of 2021 & it's definitely worthy of that title. we shared 3 dishes & finished it all so you know it's good!!
Food: We ordered Brussel sprouts to share & they were the best I've ever eaten. the bowl is also HUGE for the price. Perfect amount of saltiness from the seasoning & perfect amount of crunch. They were cooked just the right softness on the inside. MUST ORDER. then, we shared the pesto gnocchi & meatball calzone

Really cute neighborhood restaurant that is great for all occasions. They have really great wood fired pizzas and a full menu of options that would please everyone. I came for a friend's birthday. We shared a bunch of appetizers: brussels sprouts, meatballs, oysters, and a pizza. Everything was really good. The brussels sprouts were super crispy. The meatballs were really tender with a savory marinara sauce. The oysters were fresh. The pizza had a super thin crust and was excellent! For my main, I had the pesto gnocchi. It was really delicious and fresh tasting. My husband had the steak and

Crispy cauliflower $12 - Not salty, yet seasoned nicely
Meatballs $18 - 5-6 medium sized balls. A bit sweet tasting. Definitely made in house. Tomato sauce was a bit too acidic/sour. Served with 2 slices of sourdough bread
Mushroom pizza $21 - typical small size pizza. Thin crust. Could be crispier. Wish it had more than just 1 kind of mushroom. Can taste the truffle oil
Cameroni $23 - It actually had pieces of sausage and thin sliced snap peas rather than just plain ragu sauce with pasta. Pasta itself was good
Ranked #36 on yelps top 100 restaurants in 2021. Well deserved. All the food

This is my favourite kind of restaurant: cozy and warm environment, friendly and non overbearing service, a well thought menu, serving decent food. I have to admit: looking at a menu with pizza, burgers and risotto always makes me scared of the food quality. Are they trying to do too much to please a too wide of an audience which almost always fails? I'm glad to report, Creekwood didn't fail.
Creekwood doesn't pretend to be something it is not: a super fancy quasi Michelin star restaurant and then failing miserably on delivery. I've seen plenty of those in this neighbourhood

Italian food prepared and presented in the Italian way! The sausage calzone is suppurb, the pizza almost as perfect as the best of Naples, the pork chops delicious, all complemented by a fine wine list and some excellent local brewed ales. The service is also outstanding and, as in Italy, no one is in a hurry to clear you out from your table at the end of the meal - feel free to take your time to enjoy a good desert, a cordial and pleasant conversation with your company - great fun and well worth the price, which was really quite reasonable! Bone appetito!

Really wonderful early dinner here tonight!
This is our 2nd time here.
1st, I called to see if they had Mashed potatoes & Lamb shank; gnocchi and Ravioli tonight. The answer was yes to all.
Not the case when we arrived, gnocchi yes, none of the others. But they were so very kind to make my mom and I mashed potatoes! That was #1 on my list.
We started with a prosciutto pizza; burrata & heirloom tomatoes and the Beet salad. All very good! They let their outstanding ingredients be the flavor, not drowning in dressings, etc.

I've never been this excited to write a review. I follow Creekwood on Instagram and a couple days ago when the picture of their Almond Tort Cake appeared in my feed, I knew I had to try it. I love cake. It makes me happy.
The review is mainly about, guess what, the cake. Also, the service from the ease of ordering and pick up was really good.
Just so that I didn't just have cake for dinner, I also ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich. It came with homemade chips, which really were delicious, and if they had been hot, would have been fantastic. On the menu, the chicken sandwich is listed

Six of us went here on Sunday. If you sit outside, the road is fairly noisy. The wind was up and we had to hang on to our menus. Our waiter was friendly and checked back to see how we did. We were impressed by the appetizers we had: the beet salad, the roasted peppers, and the crunchy Brussels sprouts. The gnocchi and the calzone were very good. Both the lamb chops and pork were undercooked enough to make if difficult to even chew the meat off the bone, so get these done a little more than you normally would. The fettuccine was cooked just so but would have benefitted from more Alfredo sauce. Additional

Luckily I had this place in my Yelp bookmarks as I needed a solid location to celebrate my son's new opportunity and so glad I did. Service was attentive and food was outstanding! Fairly small place with indoor and outdoor seating but as soon as we stepped in, we felt a great vibe. The draft Black Lager beer was excellent, and the host treated us to some excellent crispy Brussels sprouts. For our main meal we had the King Salmon - toasted couscous, sweet jimmy nardello peppers, heirloom tomato nage, micro greens and the 15 oz, aged ribeye steak served with crispy fingerlings, turnips, beurre

Everything tasted really good. The meatballs appetizer came with marinara sauce and two pieces of bread. I got a chicken dish that was pretty tasty. Happened to be in the neighborhood because it was close to my sons temporary summer storage and lucky we were. Food and service were so good. Didn't have to wait long for the food and everything was great. I can really recommend everything we ate.
French toast? Amazingly crispy and sweet
Fried chicken thigh? Amazingly tender and seasoned
Cheeseburger? Amazingly juicy and tasty
Crispy Brussels? Double amazing and seasoned perfectly
As you can see, great place to go for brunch. And seriously, get the Brussels.

So I could have sworn I reviewed before our take out experience which was awesome. We loved the food.
This time we went and had our meal at Creekwood for Father's Day. The food was mostly good. We had a lot of things:
Little gems salad: too much dressing but good
Asparagus pizza: awesome
Sausage pizza: awesome
Pasta: awesome
brussel sprouts with sugar topping?! It was weird but still ok. I would have preferred it without the sugar topping and it should have an aioli to dip the sprouts in.
The service was snarky. The waiter seemed like he had an attitude the entire time and I have no idea

I went to Creekwood last night, and to my surprise it wasn't contactless ordering. I had my first server since before the pandemic. Ben was phenomenal, accommodating and sweet. The interior layout is beautiful and their patio seating is also very comfortable. It gives off very casual yet fine dining vibes which is perfect for Berkeley. You can tell the owners definitely care about this business a lot.
I ordered the Rose Brut Spumante, a sparkling rose! It was definitely my favorite i'd ever had!

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. **
This is the kind of comforting upscale restaurant that makes me long to go back to an actual face-to-face dining experience. Someday soon hopefully. It was the high quality of what Jamie W. and I ordered that evoked that memory of what now seems like an eternity to a foodie like me. I discovered that co-owners Greg Poulios and Mark Louie worked together at Zuppa in the city (which closed about three years ago) and that executive chef Liam Bonner ran the menu there as well as a long-ago favorite of mine, Globe

Amaaaaazing! Such a special neighborhood gem. We got and love the PEI mussels. Perfect amount of kick and couldn't get enough of that white wine butter sauce. The Margherita pizza and roasted beet salad also are must-gets. The salad has this yummy pistachio praline topping. I could eat that alone as a snack.
Service was warm and helpful, especially with the recommendations. I can't wait to be back and definitely want to try their brunch offerings as well!

I never update a review so soon but I just had to! I saw that Creekwood ranked #36 on Yelps Top 100 Places to Eat in 2021 and needed to go back! Ordered the gnocchi and meatballs again (how can you not) and ordered the brussel sprouts and fries. My boyfriend and I were drooling over the brussel sprouts: maple glazed, perfect balance between salty and sweet. The fries were good too and came with a delicious garlic aioli. Again, the gnocchi and meatballs were superb. Idk how they do it but the sauces they use are incredible. They make you want to lick the plate afterwards.

Ordered take out tonight; the ordering process was nice and easy. I liked being able to prepay online so I could pick up without touching too many things. When I arrived I noticed that they have outdoor dining now, quite a few folks were there. I saw staff cleaning the tables and chairs down which is nice. The online system said I could call upon arrival to have the food brought out to my car but the restaurant didn't answer when I called so I ran in.
