La Note
La Note is an authentic Provencal restaurant in the heart of downtown Berkeley. Traditional breakfast and lunch bistro fare are combined with rustic Provencal dinners in a warm and charming atmosphere. The restaurant's owner Dorothee Mitrani, a graduate from UC Berkeley's Environment design program (1994), won an award in excellence in 1998 for "outstanding storefront improvements" and rehabilitation of its beautiful 1875 building.

Her daily goal is to raise her children all the while exposing them and the community to the convivial experience of sharing a wholesome fun and colorful meal reminiscent of her childhood. Not to miss!.The stunning exterior patio, open April - October. Saturday & Sunday from 8am - 3pm for brunch (lunch menu starts at 11am).
Services
We do not serve dinner on our patio, but it is available for Provencal buffet-catered parties. Please inquire by e-mail if you are interested. For all parties over 9 we encourage, but do not enforce the use of our prix fix menus during the week. Parties of 9 or more are usually held in the patio at our picnic tables (weather permitting).
Can order from our a la carte dinner menu and prix fix menu. For groups from 15-40, we offer a sit-down dinner in the main dining room with two time options: either 6pm or 8pm. For groups from 40-55, we only offer our Provencal buffet in the garden from May to October. A rental fee of $75 an hour applies to all parties of 18 and over.
I'm always on the hunt for the best breakfast / brunch spots everywhere I go. La Note so far is on top in the East Bay. The pancakes are delicious here - the regular ones are good enough, topped with sour cream and all the butter and syrup you want. I also tried their raspberry oatmeal pancakes; sweet and delicious as well.

Cozy little place for great brunch!
We went there for Saturday brunch. There was a 20 minute wait but the service was quick and so good! There's both indoor and outdoor seating.
Mocha is to die for- easily one of the best I had in the Bay area. the potato and carmelized onion omelette was bland to my taste but still good!

Always fresh and delicious. French-inspired brunch offerings always made to perfection. Coffee drinks are delicious and you can even add champagne or a cocktail. Arrive early, or get on the wait list. Beverages and comfortable seating are available next door. You can expect to wait 20-40 minutes and you will need ID and proof of vaccination. This is one of the best places to eat in Berkeley.

The service was super slow, we waited the food to be served like for 40min. Their outdoor table seating is very closely set up, so i felt like I was sitting together with the group next to our table… definitely worst outdoor patio setting Ive been to. Also the heater wasn’t properly working when we were dining. I used to like their brunch but dont think ill come back for awhile.

Exceptional Berkeley find just three blocks from The Hotel Shattuck Plaza. Send for breakfast two days in a row while in town for our Washington vs Cal Volleyball match. Got there before 9:30 am Saturday and… Sunday mornings and got our preferred window seats. The place fills up and there are lines to get in if you arrive later. Exceptionally well prepared food. We had egg dishes. Everything superb. Omelettes and scrambled eggs done to perfection. Flavor profiles exceptional. Consistent. Roasted potatoes with whole garlic cloves and unexpected goodness. After the fact we discovered La Note

Waited over an hour but believe me when I tell you that this restaurant is worth it! Everything we had was absolutely delicious and the outside patio is very cozy.
We had the lemon gingerbread pancake, the Poulet Grille sandwich, and the les oeufs with apple chicken sausage.

One of my favorite spots for breakfast! Get reservations or plan on waiting. You can’t go wrong with either a delicious latte or mimosa. My go to meal is the cote sud only because the spicy lamb sausage is so delicious !🤤

Lovely summer lunch on the back patio. Almost felt like a cafe in France. The menu could be richer, but what we ordered was very tasty and plentiful! Bon Appetit!
