Savorez is located on the corner of 4th and Chestnut St. in downtown Wilmington. Do not be deceived by the small stature of the modest brick building, inside we are booming with big bold flavors and a benevolent staff excited to indulge you! The name says it all! Savorez is our evolution of the Spanish word Sabores, meaning flavors.
Sabores. Savor. Savorez! Here we are inspired by the vibrant flavors and colorful cuisine of Latin cultures. While sourcing locally and staying true to his North Carolinian roots, Chef Sam Cahoon has successfully honed his own style of cooking. His beautifully crafted cuisine is his southern take and tribute to Latin flavors.

I enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in a very long time at Savorez last night. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our experience.
We started with the empanadas appetizer, split as one sweet potato and black bean, one chorizo and goat cheese. The sweet potato and goat cheese was presented with a side of black beans while the chorizo had a green salsa that had some mild and flavorful heat.
For drinks I ordered an old fashioned, which was a good, solid drink but just a little heavy on the ice. The cocktail menu was eclectic and varied and all looked very good.

Decided to try something new with my friend while we were downtown and came across Savorez. The outside is very unassuming but once you walk in, it's super cool with artwork around the restaurant. It is rather small so if it's the weekend or peak season I can imagine the wait times are high.
We were sat right away and grabbed some chips, salsa, and guac. This was delicious and after asking the waitress for help ordering (they had too many good options) we settled on the BLT Arepas which were so good and the steak tacos.
They also have a good selection of drinks if you are

Our entire dining experience was fantastic. We started with sweet potato guacamole and seared tuna tostadas as our wonderful waitress recommended. We ordered from the regular menu, though the specials looked amazing. We had the Caliente Tuna and Carne Con Ancho. The dishes arrived at the table and the presentation looked like a photo shoot straight from a gourmet magazine. They both tasted as good as they looked. Everything was so good we couldn't pass the chocolate bread pudding special. The owner/chef brought our dessert and checked on us. Best bread pudding I've ever tasted. Highly

Wilmington is such a super cute little town. We were only stopping there briefly, but it didn't stop us from taking the bikes out and riding around.
But we were also hungry and Savorez was on our "list", so...
Overall, maybe a little dissapointed based on the hype? The best things we had were the empanadas. They were excellent. Also, the fish tacos weren't too shabby.
But the worst thing we had was the carnitas. So much stuff added you couldn't even taste the pork. A clear "miss" for us.
But hey, check them out... opinions vary.

So many people have asked if we've eaten here yet, and finally we made it! Lunch is a great time to go because they aren't as busy as dinner (still busy though). The food was delicious! The service was fantastic. This is one of those places where the price justifies the experience. I don't think it's expensive, but we didn't have any regrets eating out here. Great food!

We went to Wilmington to meet some friends and this place was highly recommended by some of my local Wilmington friends.
We got there 15 minutes before it opened and a line started to form. That is when you know a place is good.
They have a bunch of options. Tapas, empanadas, tacos, tostadas, etc. plus some great specials. Of course I started with a margarita. Sadly I forgot to take a photo of it because I got so excited.
I really wanted to try the empanadas so we got the chicken tinga. It was very tasty with pickled onions and cilantro on top. Then for my main meal I got the crispy quinoa

I have been wanting to dine here for awhile. After a visit to Thalian Hall tonight I was able to do just that. We had a short wait for 2 people about 845ish. They do not take reservations and it is a very small place. The atmosphere is very chill and cozy. I actually really liked it a lot! There is really great art work and the lights for Christmas made it all the more festive. They have an extensive drink list and the food menu was very hard to choose from because everything sounded delightful. I chose the tuna caliente because it was healthy. I loved it and could eat it everyday. The

Sevorez restaurant in one of the best restaurants in the Wilmington area. Every dish we tried was a symphony of amazing flavor combinations and color presentation. They offer specials but every dish we had was more than special. “Caliente Tuna” and “Carne con Ancho”were both equally magnificent. Their cocktails are all handcrafted from only fresh squeezed fruits, berries and the finest liquors. The sweet potato cheese cake empanadas and Cream brûlée could not be imagined before tasting.
This restaurant is a must. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. They never seemed in a hurry although

Got the quinoa crusted flounder on smoked sweet potato mash and curried coconut greens. And for dessert, chocolate flan with chocolate chili ganache and raspberry gastrique. All served in a super cute, super small dining room by friendly staff. High quality spicy specialty margaritas too. Highly recommended! One of the best meals I've ever had.

If I could give Savorez 50 stars, I would! It doesn't look like much from the outside- I honestly thought it was a little deli or coffee shop at first, but holy smokes is it magical inside! It's a local restaurant owned by a young man who has created phenomenal food and drinks! I went with friends, and we couldn't decide on what we wanted, so we basically ordered everything. It was all incredible, nothing was spicy (THANK YOU!), and we took home leftovers that tasted fantastic the next day too!
Here's what we ordered:
- BLT arepas
- langousta and coco ceviche (a group favorite

I came from California to visit some family in Durham NC. My family and I took an overnight trip to Wilmington to go to the beach. I found this restaurant using Yelp and we all agreed to give it a try.
EXCELLENT!!! Everything was great! From the service to the deliciousness of the food and cocktails. Most of us ordered one of the specials (dapper snapper tacos) and my uncle got the scallops. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our OG margaritas were good too.
And what's dinner without dessert?!?! We got the sweet potato empanadas and side of coconut ice cream. They were perfect together. So good

The best latin american inspired food we've ever had (and we cook/eat quite a bit of it!)
The snapper special was succulent, perfectly cooked.
The chicken torta was on a perfect tortilla with fresh, balanced flavors and amazing beans and pico.
The dishes are clearly composed by a chef who understands flavour: seasonings and the various elements of each plate compliment each other perfectly.
The maduros were tender, carmelized and crisped perfectly.
What an amazing and perfect lunch!

Since I moved down here last year, I've frequently ordered take out or got a table for some delicious comfort food. The seating is tight but always a quick turn around at least for a party of two. The location is off the beaten path and they have a small parking lot for patrons although there is street parking also available.
They have a separate daily specials and cocktails/alcoholic beverages menus aside from there double sided food menu. Lots of creative twists on Latin and American staples as well as tapas, appetizers and a few different entrée items to satisfy all dietary preferences

I regret having to leave this review. In the past I have rated Savorez 5 stars for the same food we ordered tonight.
Tonight was a different story. Drinks were good. Food was mediocre and bland. Shocking!!!
Black beans were bland, as was the coconut rice. Maduras were burnt.Vegetarian's Dream Tostada was soggy and very little flavor. Crispy Quinoa Flounder Tacos lacked the Latin flavors. Fish was crispy, but dry and overcooked. Also, very little flavor.

Let me hear you say Ahhhhh . That's what my mouth was telling me after I took my first bite of this delicious meal. From start to finish every single bite was fresh and you can taste the difference. My meal was extremely light and filling simultaneously to be able to hit the town after and explore. The restaurant was a bit small with maybe ten tables max. If you're a margarita lover you've gotta stop by. One table near us took down ten margaritas in an hour. If that isn't a stamp of approval I don't know what is. If you're in the neighborhood stop by! I'd recommend

My wife and I were very impressed by Savorez. For lunch, we got the sweet potato and goat cheese "guacamole" and two entrees. Everything was delicious (seasoned and cooked well) and the serving size was generous in my opinion. The service was also very quick, efficient, and friendly. Additionally, the restaurant was nicely decorated and well-maintained. Seating seemed a bit limited, which may be a problem for busy times, but it was very comfortable. In all, can't wait to return.

Two of my friends and I visited Savorez for the first time for lunch. Since the place doesn't take reservations, we arrived 15 minutes early and waited outside for the doors to open. They had a large container of water and plastic cups for those waiting to get in. I thought that was a nice touch, especially on a hot day. When the doors finally opened, it was still just the three of us waiting to get in. However, not long after opening, the restaurant filled. There are about 28 seats in the room, plus seats at the bar.
The room is so colorful with bright red walls, artwork, and Chef awards

We decided to check out a concert at Wilson last weekend at the last minute and needed to find a place nearby for a quick bite. A couple of places that we wanted to try in the area were super busy and understaffed, so we made the good decision to go to Savorez, one of our favorite places in Wilmington. Being small, they too were busy but we nabbed a table at the bar after a short wait. We regrettably skipped any appetizers (I hear the ceviche is to die for) and ordered arroz con pollo and the fish special, which was pompano. If you've never tried pompano, you're missing out. It's

Today was my first visit to Savorez and chose to go early lunchtime in an attempt to avoid the lunch rush. Going early was a brilliant idea, as it turns out. Savorez was recently ranked in the Yelp top 50 spots for brunch across the U.S. so you know they have something special going on PLUS I've been wanting to go here for awhile now. Chef Sam Cahoon is on to something here with his Latin-inspired twist on food art.

My husband always raves about this tiny restaurant. Whenever he's in town for business, he stops in here for lunch and I have to jealously hear him describe his meal. I finally got to eat here, and I was not disappointed!
We ordered the
Gato's Tacos : crispy pork belly, roasted pork loin, aioli, gruyere & pickles
Crispy Quinoa Flounder Tacos: crispy flounder cabbage slaw, chimichurri ranch, salsa & avocado
We shared our tacos and loved both. The portions are large! I chose the coconut rice as a side - ohhh so good! My husband got yucca fries and we couldn't even eat half
