There are several good restaurants in Wilmington. The decision to dine here for a special occasion turned out to be the right one. It is the best place in town to watch the sunset. Warm, comfortable, beautiful atmosphere. The food and drinks were excellent. I had the braised short ribs and she had the scallops. Everything was prepared and presented with excellence. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. I've seen some reviews quibble over the price and portion size. I disagree. It was a memorable experience. Very well done!

Space was nice. Found 2 out of 3 staff to be seriously rude for the 4 guests present. Ordered a couple of drinks, left a credit card on the bar for over 30 minutes with no cash out. Second bartender cashed us out as wine was stale and atmosphere was not what we were looking for. (the rooftop bar was closed until March) First bartended passed us in the main hall as we left to elevators and asked us if we paid the bill. Not, have a good night, or thanks folks, 'bud did you cash out?'" Seriously underwhelmed and that left a bad taste!

The food at Steam is absolutely delicious! My husband and I have had dinner there twice now. Once with family in town and another time on our anniversary. The ambiance is awesome and so is the staff. The manager, Shelley, does an exceptional job. She is super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again and again!

I really enjoy that this restaurant welcomes those whom aren't hotel guests so tourists and locals can try this amazing place too. This restaurant is located inside Embassy Suites and it overlooks the river. We were lucky enough to get a seat by the water to watch the sunset. The portions sizes and prices are great for the quality of food. I really like the homemade rolls you get along with your starter. The triple tail fish was the dinner special and we loved the sweet fish paired with sweet corn and a creamy sauce. The service by Jessica was great. She was super friendly and made sure we knew

At the Embassy Suites hotel, this restaurant is on the 2nd floor overlooking the riverfront. Great food and service and mixed drinks too! Pretty views of the river and marinas. A few tips - unless you are looking for valet, parking is found either on the street, (usually free past 6:30pm) or in the municipal garage behind or alongside the hotel. There is a lot of construction going on, so roads may be tight, in poor shape or even closed, so finding a spot in the garage is a great choice. After dinner, explore the far end of the newly renovated and completed river walk.

We are a party of 5. We've never been here before and I decided to do my birthday dinner here.
NOTE Their menu was cut way down. Please call them about it first and see if what you want in their original menu online is available or else, you'll end up a little disappointed like we did.
To get there ww had to take an elevator to the second floor
Reservations made for 7pm but we were 15 mins early but got seated anyway so we had dinner earlier than expected.
Ambiance. Classy but relaxed.
We were given the closest as they can for a party of 5 table indoors, ( I requested a river view and it was

In town 2 nights for business. My choice for dinner both nights was at the Steam Restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Very Very good. They truly have a staff that know what they are doing in the kitchen. Service was friendly and attentive. My selections for dinner was the Carolina Cobb Salad (Amazing) and Crab and Corn Chowder the 1st night. I had the Crab Cake the second night. Both meals as stated previously well prepared and full of flavor. Excellent choice if you prefer not to venture out downtown for dinner. Amazing view of the Cape Fear River at sunset as well
