One of the brightest stars in the Wilmington Culinary Constellation is Grand Cru Food & Wine. An authentic pleasure to please any palate specializing in pairing exceptional wines with small plate gastronomic treats prepared and designed by our chef, one of Wilmington's favorite culinary artists. Grand Cru, a Wilmington restaurant & wine bar, focuses on the shared experience.
From listening to live music while enjoying creative tapas, charcuterie and small plate menu offerings, to exploring the extensive wine, champagne and by-the-glass wine pairings, Grand Cru embodies the social connection. What better way to share time with friends, family, or a special someone. What better venue to meet for a drink after work, share a unique dining experience or enjoy a fresh cocktail and dessert.

We decided to celebrate my son's and his fiancé's engagement at Grand Cru. I can't say enough about the personal care and the courtesy exhibited by Chef Luke as well as the wait staff. From our arrival, until we departed everyone at the restaurant went out of their way to ensure that we, our guests, and the happy couple were treated with respect and the utmost attention to our needs. Our hors d' oeuvres, including the charcuterie, were delicious, fresh, and just so inviting. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Our visit was outstanding.

My girlfriend and I stopped by for dinner and wine this evening. Our entire experience was nothing short of amazing. The customer service by our server, Jenna, was great. Most of all, the Chef, Luke, cooked me the best steak I’ve ever had in my entire life. Luke - you absolutely perfected the Filet Mignon.
Thank you both.

This was our first visit, and it was an instant winner, from the beautiful outdoor dining venue, with fire pit, tiki torches, and heaters, plus a great view of the water and the surrounding establishments, to… the tapas and small plates, signature dishes, and yummy dessert options, and the friendly service and pleasant staff. Our server - Kate - was a jewel, and our food - the Salmon Dip, “fully loaded baked potato soup,” and flatbread , were outstanding! The wine and cocktail selections were enormous, but we opted for the specials, and between the white burgundy and Chardonnay

My wife and I went here for the first time last weekend and it was phenomenal. We loved the food and the service was excellent. Chef Luke has done a wonderful job creating some truly amazing dishes. We had the butter bean dip, deviled eggs, sweet potatoe soup and blackened salmon on grits. It was all great and we can’t wait to get back their for another meal.

Had an early light meal with my sister tonight -- the tuna stack special is fantastic! A rice base, small lima beans, tuna chunks, avacado slices, topped with black sesame seeds and I'm probably forgetting something, but it was a work of art and an beautifully balanced dish; very light heat in there somewhere -- Delicious! Service was excellent. Maybe they'll add this dish to the regular menu?????

Consistently excellent. I’ve eaten here many times. The owner/ manager seems to take extra pride in checking in with clients and also fitting people in last minute for a reservation. I have been very lucky getting Reservations here even at the last minute. They have nightly specials to the menu is eclectic and very gourmet. The prices are reasonable. Beautiful outside dining, live music some nights, heaters, fire pits etc. 5 stars all around!

We got a bad taste in our mouth when the manager greeted us very rudely when we walked in. He basically told us to leave because the restaurant wasn’t ready even though it was open. He said it wasn’t ready until 4, and we arrived at 3:55. We were told to come back later. The only reason we came back was because the outdoor area looked really nice, and it was. Our server was great and we enjoyed ourselves. The butter bean dip was very average but the wine was great.

My husband and I just had our first experience at Grand Cru. And it was a completely wonderful experience! Excellent food, staff and service. We sat at the bar with Kate, one of the friendliest and most down to earth bartenders ever. Russell, the GM, graciously and passionately talked to us about the menu and the restaurant. Even a fellow patron,… Mike, gave us excellent recommendations. We sampled the scallops, pork belly, pea risotto, crab cake and lamb sausage. Nothing disappointed- everything satisfied us to the fullest extent. We finished our meal with a Gran Marnier creme brû

This place is weird and the food sucks. Drinks are OK, staff aren't rude, but inattentive. Best thing is the charcuterie board...everything else is fat below average. Atmosphere is strange as it used to be so many different places. Prices aren't terrible but aren't great. The menu is extremely limited, and unimpressive. The food seems pre-made and very pedestrian. I think its a cool place for 60 years Old men to pretend they're younger and hit on 55 year old women dressed like teenagers. I wouldn't but any food there. Drinks maybe, but not a place worth trying.

Disappointed with the service and lack of knowledge and understanding when it came to their menu. The server was rude and not accommodating to food allergies. She told me I could pretty much have a salad without the dressing so lettuce essentially. I was able to modify a dish on my own with push back from the server to do this. We asked to see the… chef to ask about the menu and accommodations that could be made in the future. He came out without a mask first of all. But other than that huge mistake during these times he said anything on the menu could be modified. The menu states one dish

We happened upon this great restaurant while out shopping! Drinks and food were awesome. We tried several starters...chopped wedge salad, roasted figs, crab dip, and each one of us had a different drink from their signature cocktails. All were spot on. Only reason I'm not giving a 5 is our server was short with us and not very patient as we were reviewing the menus. We would have stayed longer and eaten dinner but it was a turn off and kinda ruined our "girls' night out vibe". We left and went elsewhere for dinner, but I want to give it another try! Lots in the menu that

If I were to ask you who you think is the most important employee in a restaurant, what would you say? The chef? The manager? The bartender? All important, no doubt, but it's the hostess. Don't look at me like that. Let me 'splain Lucy...
Remember what your mother told you about first impressions? Who's the first person you encounter in a restaurant? I rest my case.
The hostess sets the tone for the entire evening, and if he/she falls short, the rest of the employees have to work that much harder to pick up the slack, and most of the time they can't. There's not

My boyfriend and I had tickets to an evening event and decided to make a stop at Grand Cru to split a quick bottle of wine. We ordered a nice dry Riesling and a cheese and meat plate. Overall the food and drinks were enjoyable but the portions were fairly small and the service was less than enjoyable. We were the only people in the bar, yet the server was short with us and made it seem like we weren't worth his time.
Otherwise - highly recommend this bottle of wine!

Grand Cru is our go-to place for great food, excellent wines and tasty cocktails. Everything on the menu is super delicious and we are always proud to bring our out-of-town friends here for a memorable evening. Russell and David are knowledgeable about wine (and David prepares a very tasty Pear-fecta cocktail). The wine menu is pages long and Grand Cru carries a generous selection of California, Oregon and Washington varietals as well as French, Italian and Australian wines.
Chef David is a master in the kitchen and always has a few specials on the menu. I recommend starting out with some cured

This place is so great! It's like being at a 5 Star restaurant in New York City with true Southern Hospitality. I cannot extol the virtues of this place enough- from the food, ambience, decor, staff and on and on. Not only is the food top notch, it is presented so beautifully. I plan on coming here as often as I can. I can't wait to see Grand Cru highlighted as one of the "Best in the South".

My wife and I came to Grand Cru for a date night, and had an excellent experience. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. They had great live music and a laid back crowd. With a great view from the patio as well, Grand Cru should be a stop for locals and visitors of Wilmington alike!

Great place when you're not sure what you want for dinner. 3 of us split the antipasto and the NC crab skillet. And for dessert we tried the daily special s'mores skillet, the chocolate torte, and the key lime pie cheesecake. ALL was fantastic. The service was incredible especially for Easter weekend. Jenay was so pleasant and provided great conversation
