Went here with my wife. The staff and service were exceptional. The refreshments on the 2nd floor were a nice touch. Room was comfortable.
If on the upper floors in the winter, you may need them to flip the AC on in the room as you get the heat from the other floors.
My biggest issues were that they have on the website "wine and cheese served nightly". Not the case since covid apparently, but as I said they still have it posted. I complained to the front desk, but nothing came of it other than they'd take a note. Unfortunate as this was one of the reasons we chose the hotel, as it is unique.

I just returned from another great stay at the Hotel Elysee. The staff as always was extremely helpful and responsive. The decor is classic, clean, and comfortable with more amenities than you would expect from a boutique hotel. Emerging from COVID is a difficult time for hospitality and service industries, but the Hotel Elysee seems to be rising to the challenge without issue. Looking forward to my next stay!

Lovely boutique hotel with professional, kind staff who truly makes you feel welcome. Every time I stay and every different room has been lovely. I appreciate coming back to this hotel after a long day of work and appointments in the city because you experience calm, quiet and a sense of home. Thank you to the staff for another wonderful visit.

Headline: A lovely boutique. Classic with impeccable service.
With a prime location in mid-town Manhattan, this lovely boutique has 14 floors of unique rooms generally full of European tourists. Though many to most guests are tourists, I've generally stayed there for business and there are usually a decent number of business travelers as well. The rooms are funky- odd shapes various sizes. It's OLD.
A few tips:
Stay on a higher floor or alley side in order to get quiet- this IS midtown.
Rooms are stocked with basic toiletries but if you've forgotten something it will appear in

Although the staff was extremely friendly, that is, unfortunately, the only redeeming quality of this hotel. The elevator was broken for much of our stay which required us to either take the service elevator (which is clearly not meant to be seen by guests) or take the stairs. Our room was very dark during daylight hours. Our bathtub clogged twice. I understand that the hotel is located in an old building, but for the nightly rate, we expected much more than what we got.

The hotel has a widely recognized racist symbol prominently displayed at its reception desk. It is a figure dresses like a man but with the face and tale of an ape, standing in the position of a servant, in this case holding the business cards of the hotel (see photo). I brought the offensive nature of this object to the attention of a woman at the front desk; unfortunately her response was that the object has been there a long time and no one has ever complained.
I suggest that the following would be a more appropriate response: I'm sorry to hear this - we were not aware of this symbolism

In addition to the excellent location for sightseeing, their hospitality in the Club Room is unparalleled.
Club Room
They always have some kind of free food in the club room, starting from their complimentary breakfast in the morning, wine & hors d'oeuvres reception in the evening, and tea/coffee and cookies all day until they close the club room at midnight.
+ Breakfast: It's tastefully done but it's continental breakfast. If you'd like hot food, like scrambled eggs and bacon, you would have to cross the street to a deli (e.g., Reliable Food, see my review).
+ Wine

This was a find of mine several years ago. It is my favourite go to Hotel in the city. Very old and charming boutique hotel. Treated like a guest very well trained staff . There is a happy hour in the evening and breakfast each morning-both should be part of your planned visit. It is lovely.
The rooms are so romantic. Marble baths, chandelier above the bed. The hotel became news worthy when noted as go to hotel for lovers in the show Mad Men ...
Keep things original and we keep coming back! Hail to great service professionals!

Absolutely a fantastic stay. Entire staff goes out of their way to attend to guests and make your time there feel like you are at home.
This is my family's third time here while visiting NYC and will certainly be back to book on our next trip. The second floor room has complimentary breakfast, coffee, tea and snacks every morning, followed by wine and champagne for happy hour each night.
Kudos to the entire team at Hotel Elysee!

Expensive and average hotel.
I do like the charming boutique-ness and convenience to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Park Ave and other "tourist attractions".
I didn't like the crampness of the rooms and the bed could use a little more plush.
The rooms, for the most part, are average.
It is part of the Hotel Giraffe name (which we loved) but we felt it could use some upgrades (especially the elevators and lighting).
The staff was what you would expect from an expensive hotel but I like it when they have a personality!
There are numerous other hotels (i.e. Kimpton Hotels rock
