New Discovery School is located in the Roosevelt neighborhood in a beautiful, light filled building designed just for us. Our philosophy is that children learn through play, therefore we place play at the center of our curriculum. We offer a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that engage and challenge each child.

Services
NDS is a play-based preschool with a balance of both emergent and theme-based curricula. We use developmentally appropriate activities and play to challenge our students, and teach them lifelong communication and conflict-resolutions skills. Our teachers are selected not only for their experience and education, but most importantly for the joy they show and feel while interacting with young children.
Children gain confidence and independence when they feel they are valued members of a community. We build community within the classrooms, but also extend it to include parents and siblings. We invite and encourage families to participate in various school activities throughout the year. Due to the pandemic there will be no song circle to start the day, cafes, potlucks, or volunteer opportunities (driving for fieldtrips, etc.)

New Discovery School depends entirely on funding from tuition, our annual auction, and the generosity of our community. We value the thoughtful giving that each family contributes to make NDS a better place! The funds we raise through the auction are used to ensure the continuation of our specialists (ASL, Movement, Art, Music), provide professional development opportunities for staff, and to fund new projects.
