The Thai Kitchen was the first Thai Restaurant to open in the Seattle Area in 1981. My mother, Lisa Ruhl (Yai Yai) had a passion for cooking! She wanted to introduce the indulgent flavors of Thai Cuisine, along with the culture to the Pacific Northwest. Our restaurant has always been family owned and operated.
Many of our customers have become an extension of our family. Passion for food and hospitality runs in our family. My brother opened Thai Tom on University Avenue in 1994, which has become a favorite spot for many Seattlites. Bird Pepper was started with my desire to continue my mother's legacy. We are located on the second floor of Bellevue Square.

I am normally not into Pad Thai, but this Pad Thai was the best one I’ve ever tried. Noodle was chewy and the sauce was perfect!!! Shrimp and crab fried rice was super delicious as well, we added pineapple to it. Though, Pad see ew was so-so, noodle was too soft… they only opened one floor and had to wait about 20 minutes. I am definitely coming back for Pad Thai anytime soon!😊

If you are in Bellevue and looking for some great Thai food with friendly staff and great service, check this place out. We ended up here by chance since all the other places around had long waits so we walked here from the Hyatt. You can access the place from the street side or the parking garage across the sky bridge from Nordstrom. The food and drinks were great...see pics. Only complaint would be that if you sit by the door in the street side, people coming in that door like to stand in the door and hold it open when it's freezing so the staff should usher them in and close the door. This place is so hard to locate. According to the directory, it's on the second floor but the sign next to the elevator indicates that it's on the third floor. Bellevue square management somehow didn't notice this? The food is good, we got to sit next to the glass window. Interior decors are nice. Very limited vegetarian options. It was lovely to hear a bunch of 70s music including dancing queen and ymca

Literally, sitting here writing this review… 🤗
Amazing flavor! I’m a Louisiana girl, so when it comes to food, that’s serious business. I was just stopping in for something quick but ended up eating here & getting a To-Go order.
I had the sun dried beef tenderloin (2 orders), garlic green beans and the firecracker prawns (level 3 spice)! I wish I’d taken a picture and I also wish they could teach me how to cook this for when I get back home to the south. Lol.
Prices are average but food is great. Not packed and nice atmosphere. I’ll be back when I come up state. Thanks, y’all
