Loved this place! Our server Heidi was incredible. When she learned it was our anniversary, she showed up with a free flourless chocolate cake, and also gifted us the John Howie cookbook as an anniversary gift. I highly recommend her as a server!
The steaks were excellent, along with the Blood Moon cocktail and the truffle fries. Definitely planning on coming back.

Still great as usual. Partner is now going for just the 3 filet combo instead of 4. He finds he doesn't prefer the usda compared to the Australian or Japanese. He also goes for very well (most done). Since we went with out of town visitors, I finally got the chance to try the tableside for two bone in rib eye which was great. It was a bit fattier in a particular section but it was still delicious even though we got it medium rare instead of the recommended medium. The bone jn comes with the red wine sauce which I right was better than the peppercorn sauce and much better than the chimichurri

Firstly the food. Everything was great, except that the staff almost forced us to try out medium well done steak as opposed to medium rare. And it was a bit too cooked to enjoy the texture of the good quality wagyu that was there.
On the ambience, it was as you would have expected, except that they were not too flexible on the seating even though the restaurant was only at half occupancy. We didn't bother, but never got the big deal of allowing us to move tables, closer to the windows.

This experience was such a disappointment and The food wasn't delicious. Two of our steaks were way over cooked and the other two became ice cold while we waited for replacement food, which took a very long time. The prices are extremely high, so it's inexcusable to have the food be so poorly prepared. Overall it was a mediocre experience and we won't be returning.

This was a great experience! Our server shawn and all the other servers provided us the best service and birthday experience.
We came here on a wednesday evening for a birthday dinner with hopes for a window seat despite limited real estate. Our hostess greeted us kindley and they were able to give us a great window seat.
The ambiance - the restaurant is intimately lit, but with enough lighting to have a good get together. The high ceilings and nice settings make a very classy welcoming environment. When you enter there is also a quaint bar area and inside there are plenty of booths for that

Porterhouse was excellent as usual and the bone marrow appetizer was over the top (see picture).
Ribeye on the other hand, very disappointing. They state a 42 day dry aged ribeye and I can definitely tell you that it is not 42 day dry aged. And a few of us ordered it. It could barely pass for a standard 28 day dry aged, but not a 42 day dry aged - fake beef! Plus it was overcooked (pictured). Definitely not worth $83 for fake aged beef!
Service is excellent, but the fake aged and over cooked ribeye really disappointed our family. We should have stuck to ordering porterhouse only instead of the

This is the place you have to go in the Seattle Eastside (Bellevue) if your goal is to impress with great food and drinks. It's expensive and not as cool atmosphere as Ascend, but nobody tops their steaks and drinks.
If your goal is to wow and your pockets are deep, this is THE place.
If cash is tight, a drink and appetizers at the bar make for a fun date for 2 digits.

The new Whiskey Bar next to the main restaurant is the true star of JH and we can't wait to return there and try the amazing looking HH burger we saw come out!
We celebrated a birthday recently with a party of ten here. We came early for a cocktail but bar was slammed. Hostess referred us next door to their Whiskey Bar, and what a wonderful surprise! I'm not a whiskey fan per say, but they had vodka based martinis for $7 on the HH menu! Lots of tables available, And they let us pull up chairs around the table once more guests arrived. Service slow but very accommodating!

Wow what a great place! First off the location is amazing, by all of the shops and all the Christmas lights too. Parking is very easy, you go in the circle and to the right there is self park. You get your ticket and keep it with you because John Howie can get it verified and pay it for you. Make sure you have your vaccine card or negative covid test. We started out going to their bar area for happy hour. I got the grey goose with strawberry lemonade which was amazing! They even home make their lemonade!! It was soo good!
After we had a couple of drinks at the bar, we got seated as our reservation

Edit: thank you JH for understanding and making it right
Second time back to JH in a month. This time celebrating a birthday for a client. During dinner, server asked if I wanted another cocktail. I said I was good. Within 5 mins a drink came to the table. Later a chocolate cake came out with a candle on it. My friend thought it was a nice gesture from the restaurant. when the bill came the extra drink and chocolate cake was on the bill. I'm fine with paying for the extra drink since I didn't make them take it back. But to get charge the the cake that she didn't pick threw me off

Overall, fabulous dining experience. Came here with my dad for Veterans day and Brett took great care of us. We got the Table Dinner for Two which consisted of 48oz Wagyu Ribeye steak, roasted vegetables, and bone marrow. I like my steak medium-rare and he liked his medium-well, and I was happy that they were able to accommodate this with a single steak. He normally does not eat rare/pink steak, but even he admitted that this was the best favored steak that he's ever had. The Table-side carving was also an added bonus. Will be coming back for special occasions. Well done JHS.

Came for Happy Hour. It's been several years, but I seem to remember good deviled eggs and sliders. I was quite disappointed. We had:
1) deviled eggs - 3/5. Decent. Nothing special.
2) fried artichoke hearts - 2/5. I'm not an artichoke fan and this didn't convince me.
3) brussel sprouts - 3/5. Just ok. There was something sour or citrusy in there that I didn't like.
4) jabanero butter shrimp - 2/5. Shrimp was over cooked and I didn't really like the flavor.
5) cheeseburger- 4/5. Probably the best of the bunch.
Also had their HH vodka martini that was tasteless.
Not really

We had (almost) a wonderful birthday experience for my partner last night. Our server Thomas was one of the most engaging, enthusiastic servers I've met. He really made the birthday boy feel celebrated. His busser/assistant was fabulous as well. The service itself is what really stood out.
What I didn't really like is that when we first arrived at the restaurant to check in, it was SO loud and the hostess didn't bother to speak up despite us telling her multiple times that we couldn't hear her. It was just impossible to hear her because the reception area is right next to

I almost don't know what to say. My wife I and went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it's a bit of a tradition to try the local steak houses for the celebration. Upon making the reservation online, I put in the notes that it was our anniversary and that I had Celiac Disease (which requires me to eat gluten free or risk getting very ill).
Upon arriving, we were sat at a window table (granted the view of I-405 wasn't spectacular but it's still better than an interior table). The hostess immediately handed us our menus and I was pleasantly surprised that she handed me a gluten-free specific

I will start this by saying. If you want a fantastic steak this place won't disappoint. It's fantastic. It's really pricy but worth every penny.
I had the filet medalists Oscar style. The meat was tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The Oscar style was a wonderful bonus and sat on a bed of Yukon good potatoes. I shared with my daughter because I couldn't eat it all.
My husband got the 32oz prime rib long bone and truffle fries. Hai steak was tender and juicy and cooked perfectly. I was shocked he ate it all but at least our dog got a nice bone to chew on in the end

The Five Cheese Twice Baked Potato is so good! It's $12 which is wild and sooo expensive for a POTATO, but it's SO good, I always HAVE to order it! Super cheesy and has delicious bacon bits inside.
I also ordered the 4 oz American Wagyu Beef, it was so tender and delicious, but the 4oz isn't able to get it Mesquite grilled. The potatoes were creamy and asparagus was well cooked.
The Salted Caramel and Chocolate Ganache Tart was really good! It had a really nice caramel layer underneath the chocolate with a buttery crust and it came with ice cream too!

Dear Dylan,
Not all artists paint on canvasses. Some artists are those who make beautiful creations that can only be appreciated in a moment. Those of us fortunate to bear witness are left with the unenviable task of trying to explain to those not present. I shall do my best.
I celebrated my birthday this weekend, Dylan, and I must admit I was feeling a little resentful. This is the second year in a row that I saw the pandemic crash my birthday plans. I know many millions have it much worse than me. My heart is sympathetic. I miss people, though, and had hoped to see friends and family I had

Walking into John Howie feels like being a nominee at an awards show; especially on your birthday. As you are lead to your table you are welcomed by every team member you pass, and not in a hollow fashion, but with eye contact and sincerity.
Upon being seated the host took all serviettes but mine, leaving us to wonder why my girlfriend didn’t get one. However, when he returned, he carried a black one... matching her dress. An incredible touch that few would think of.
After that, a bus boy arrived with two water glasses and a pitcher, while offering sparkling or alternate still if we’d prefer
